Subduing the Enemy

I don't know what's going on anymore, all I can feel is extreme agony and utter fear. I am ashamed to say I cannot even scrounge a chance to stand upright, there is no opening he is leaving for me.

I feel his claws tearing out my abdomen muscles, the ripping sound echoing in my mind. My eyes are too swollen to stay open, and my mouth is full of blood and bile. I am barely conscious, I think the fear and worry for my brothers keep me awake.

His aura is so thick, I feel like drowning. My senses are going haywire and I can't even smell my brothers though my haze. The enemy's scent is too thick, cloaking the other's.

My mind was in a frenzy, I didn't want to do this, but once I started it got very difficult for me to stop.

I didn't know why it kept happening, this sudden rush to kill as if I was high. It went back a long way, when I had just turned 13, I believe my thirst for such brutality gave me a release, a way out of my loneliness.

I always felt like I was missing something and it got worse during my heat episodes each month. The feeling of emptiness was so agonizing, that I couldn't control my emotions, so I just snapped.

At present I was not on my heat, but when the suit guy, Bumbum or whatever he called himself, tried to make me submit, my instincts went into overdrive and I just punched him in the chest. I could tell his lustful gaze wanted my body and it was the apex of his insolence, above that he refused to obey my request, that was foolish on his part.

Satisfied with my work, I moved back to admire it.

Just like his brothers, this red blazer guy was down in a pit, created by my own strength as I pounded into him... the red patches spotting the land, a result of my claw work.

I heaved with satisfaction, my arms and hand thick with slimy blood, covered with the foundation of my derangement.

I chuckled, as droplets of water fell around me, like even the gods were unhappy with my destructive methods. Well, I would surely curse myself later for such loss of control, but right now I was more or less content with the outcome.

The drizzle of rain certainly increased ten folds, pouring heavily, draining away the blood into smaller pools all across the solid obliterated remains.

I looked around at the wrecked bar and the ruined cluster of houses, I really did a number to the place. Sigh.

I shifted slightly at the still strong scent of a male and saw a hat wearing guy hiding behind a structure's frame. His eyes were wide and he was looking at the red blazer man with shock, he was mostly traumatized.

When I took a small step towards him, he snapped out of his thoughts and hesitantly glared at me. He was young looking, just like me, but had a smaller girth than me. His hair was a light brown with combinations of blond to them. He was pretty.

"And you are?" I asked with a bored tone, had to maintain my antihero introduction.

"I am Jae." At least he didn't stutter in his speech, I liked that.

"So... Jae," I started gruffly, taking another step towards him, "take me to your alpha, or this bitch here dies," I pointed towards the half dead guy behind me. "And don't forget your other brothers are in my care as well, so chose wisely."

"Why are you doing this," he trembled, "I know we haven't done you any harm."

A chilling breeze washed past me, as the rain intensified it's glamour.

I looked at him with a sigh, "I want to meet your alpha and I know the pack rules, unless I don't defeat the pack I won't get to subdue the leader, so for that to happen, I need to defeat the members and then the leader. I had wished I could start with the leader himself, but your brothers were rude enough to piss me off and ignore me."

"You said you wanted to meet our alpha... just to subdue him?" he appeared confused and disbelieving. Like subduing their alpha was a term unheard of. Hmm... I was going to change that soon.

"Yes, if he recommends me directly for the fest, I won't bother him again, but if he doesn't, then I would have to subdue him."

"He wouldn't," the lad said confidently, "you beat his pack, he would be unforgiving."

Well I knew that bitch, but I had snapped, so my chances of a successful talk went out the window. Besides... I had longed for such a fight, so I couldn't blame my instinct for it, I was fully responsible for my actions. Or maybe not, since some strange force in me decided to unleash my lunatics.

I laughed, making that Jae deflate and step backwards, I know I probably looked crazy to him, but the truth was, I was a very confused person who didn't even understand his own needs. Years of fighting alone, running from threat and almost succumbing to death had changed me. I was no longer the sweet and innocent kid, now I almost never smiled.

The wolf in me was howling for more, more brashness, but my mind at last collared the leash on it. I had to limit myself, because without a self limiter, I didn't know what will happen to me or how far I would go.

"Why do you even think of recommendation, an honorable person would never try that approach," Jae said, "you should take the selection competition instead."

"Tell me something idiot, do you really believe I hadn't tried that."

He shook his head, confused. He looked very silly to me.

"I am an omega, they aren't allowed to participate, it was a rule that came two years back."

My answer seemed to click his brain into action as he realized the situation. "...why do you even want to enter that death match, most of the participants die there. And if they know you are an omega they will disqualify you instantly. And your scent is already predictable."

"Hehe, pardon, but I have my own reasons, a promise to keep." I flashed in front of him, using my lightening speed, making him stumble back in alarm. "Take me to your alpha. Now." I ordered, short of patience.

"I will take you to him," he finally yielded, although reluctantly, knowing the fate of his brothers and him. "but I have to ask you something, Why did you come here. There are others who have more prominent positions in the council."

"I am here to find some people, they had told me long time back that they often visited this territory." I snickered, "I want to surprise them."

"...just for that, then before I show you the way to my alpha's den, I would like to tend to my brothers first, or they will not make it."

"You have given me your word, I am in no rush, do whatever you want, but if I see you scheming against me I would make sure to target you first, sigma. And that alpha of yours wouldn't be able to save you in time."

"I-I know." It was the first time he stuttered and I held back my superior smirk, feeling his tremor even through the rain.

I waited for Jae as he tended to his members, I was absolutely sure that he wouldn't defy me, he knew I was much stronger than him and seriously, if that Jackson person visited now, I would only be pleased.

I sat atop the restaurant roof on the edging boundary, which faced the rest of the central town. The clouds were still hovering atop me but the rain had stopped.

I hadn't been able to focus on it much, but right now, looking from a higher ground, I could notice exactly how big the town was. It was aligned in a grid pattern and the low rise clustered dwellings popped up with colored walls. It was a quaint little settlement and I felt it's warmth seep through me.

"Follow me," I heard Jae say as he landed on the boundary wall right next to me and jumped down the building with ease.

So I followed him, excited for what was to come.

We went past many vistas and nodes, some nodes decorated with fountains and copper statues. The crowd on the streets wasn't much, blame the rain, yet I also sensed fear among many whom I passed.

Looks like they had heard about me, rumors like that sure spread fast.

Each eyed me as I followed Jae, who was not that presentable now with all the blood splatters on him. Even his black hat was slightly ruined with debris dust. Maybe finding his brothers in all that ruin was more difficult for him than he pretended.

During my session with others, I had only punched him once, but after that I was solely focused on the rest. So if he had wanted to attack me he could have, but I knew he was weaker, his scent was that of a sigma's, so he must have known he was of no match against me.

"How far is it?"

We were still on some broad avenue, so I walked patiently, he sure was taking his time, when we could simply use our speed. I shrugged, even if he was planning something in that pea brain of his, I was confident with my skills of deception and escape.

We turned around the corner and I finally saw a palace. Talk about being rich.

"Welcome to Wang Palace, though you are the enemy I am forced to acknowledge."

I looked at Jae who was sweating a lot, and I chuckled. He was brave and loyal to his brothers, but if he was favoring his pack members more than his leader, he was in big trouble.

Anyway, I shoved down my condolences for his doom and proceeded to enter my next target ring, the famed Wang Palace.
