Chapter 30
Juliet left his room. When she was going, she told him to call her in her room once he's through with his bath and every other things he wants to do, so they could go upstairs together to see her father and also have their dinner. After Peter came out of the bathroom, he turned his phone on. He knew those who had his number would have tried to reach him and would be worried since they would unable to. The first person he called was the deputy director of the company he would be working for. The lady asked why she was unable to reach him and that she was worried. Peter explained that he wanted to have a good rest so that was why he switched off his phone. The lady also said that the high-ups can't wait to meet him, that they want him to start working as soon as possible because there were pending negotiations that require a language expert to complete it. Peter assured her that he would surely come to work on Monday, with that the lady was relieved. After the call, he put a call through to Rose, she was very happy that Peter called her. She even asked him where he was staying so she could come over and say hi, but Peter rejected her goodness saying that they would see on Monday. The last person he called was Anna, she was very angry with Peter, only gods could count the number of time she had called Peter but she was unable to reach him. She got worried that she lost focus even while at work. Peter apologized and explained that he had to that, so he could have a good rest. She asked Peter if he would be able to go out together with her the following day but Peter disappointed her with the excuse that he was just getting better. When he noticed that his excuse wasn't genuine enough, he could only console her by promising to drop by the following week.
After the calls, he pondered on what the old man had told him. What he found frighten was the thought of dieing in the next three years. No one would hear about his death and be happy, one would certainly be very concerned. Peter was no exception, he knew he didn't have much time left but knowing the exact time feared him. This was definately a complicated situation. He knew what to do but he doesn't know how to carry it out, perhaps, its more right to say he had no control over it. He knew he had to go to a certain place to heal himself and renew his life but he could not make a journey there because he didn't know the way. The old man also said that even if he reached there, the possibility of him surviving is uncertain. If he could get there, he knew he needed an external force to survive, something that would give him power to persist to the end. He thought Juliet should be it, all he need to do was to get closer to her and fall for her. He wasn't sure if that would work for him but there was nothing bad in trying out.
Remembering that Juliet would be waiting for him, he dashed out of the room with the speed of light. On his way out, he met Juliet coming to check on him. Juliet reach with a scream when she suddenly saw someone appeared in front of her. Although before the person appeared, she saw a moving after-image but it was so fast for her to quickly react. The moving of the after-image and the appearance of Peter didn't take up to a second. Seeing that she was about to scream, Peter quickly covered her mouth with his hand, preventing her from alarming others around. She bite Peter's hand that covers her mout. Peter quickly removed his hand pretending to suffered a great pain. Juliet knew he was only pretending, so she kicked his leg. "Why would you suddenly appear before me, are you trying to scare me?"
"Miss, trust me, I didn't even know you were coming to my room let alone scaring you. It wasn't my plan to horrify you, I only dashed out of the room because I realized I have kept you waiting for too long." Peter tried to explained his innocence but Juliet didn't believe him a bit. With everything she had seen, she would have believed him if he said he could read her mind and knew she was coming. "You are a cronic liar, I find it hard to believe you even when I know what you are saying might be true. Don't tell me it's the bath you were taking that took you so long that I had to come back to check on you."
"I mistakenly slept off after the bath, if not for the call I received, I would still be sleeping till you come to wake me up." He knew that if he told her the truth that he was thinking about something which made him lost track of time she would not believe him, he decided to tell her a lie she would believe without second thought. "So you went back to sleep...." She was surprised that someone who had been sleeping for the past four days would still doze off not long after he woke up. "I really don't know what to say, let's go and eat. You can do whatever you want after that." She left after saying that not looking back to check if he was following her.
