CHAPTER 7. UNKNOWN
"Come on Frank, let's go inside"said John before walking toward the door bell while Frank was walking close to him. When they got to the doorbell John placed his thumb on the doorbell before receiving a reply from a manly voice.
After sometime the door was open and standing at the entrance was a chubby man with a grey hairs he was no other than John's father. When John's father saw Frank standing with John he was amused and asked "Huh, Frank aren't you going home, it's already getting dark".
"Good evening Mr Kovacs, my mother is not at home and will be picking me up when she gets back"replied Frank.
"Okay , please come in kids"said Mr kovacs.
Frank nodded before walking with John toward the living room when Mr kovacs suddenly recall something and ask Frank "So how is your father doing"
Hearing Mr Kovacs asking about his father health reminded Frank of his father's condition and mood became sour
"My father was hit by a car yesterday at work and was hospitalized, that's why I'll be going home late because my mother is looking after him"said Frank.
"Your dad was hit by a car"asked John with a shocked expression.
Frank nodded to his question while they were still walking.
"It's going to be okay don't worry too much about it and focus on your upcoming examination"said Mr Kovacs
"John why don't you take Frank to your room to clean up before coming to the dinning room to eat supper" said Mr Kovacs
"Okay dad, this way Frank"replied John while leading the way to his room.
When they got to John's room, John took off his uniform until he was left with just his underwear before heading to the bathroom while Frank looks around the room. He knew John's parents were rich but it was his first time he was inside since the day he became friends with John, while he was busy surveying John's bedroom, John came out of the bathroom and was kind of proud of himself when he saw the way Frank was looking around like a complete stranger and chuckle before saying. "Hey Frank why don't you take your bath before going to the living room" asked John
Frank nodded before heading to the bathroom to shower and after which him and John went downstairs when Mrs Kovacs called the kids to the dinning for supper, while they were eating Frank was busy watching anime and at the same time eating. When they were done with supper, John took Frank back to his room where he sat down on his bed and started going through his notebook while Frank sat close to him while looking through the question Mr Edward did before sending them.
"Frank what are you looking at" asked John when he saw Frank focused on his notebook.
"I'm just going through the equation Mr Edward did"replied Frank while showing John the notebook.
"Oh, so do you understand it now"asked John.
"Yes, after going through it. The way Mr Edward did it looks kind of easy to solve. Did you also understand it" replied Frank
"Yes, I've also gone through it before and decided to answer the other questions through that same method later before going to bed" replied John.
Frank nodded in approval to John before going back to studying. After studying they started asking each other questions concerning other subjects and whenever they come across questions that they find difficult to understand,they will go to the living room to look for John's father for help which he will gladly help the kids with the question that that they are finding difficult to understand. Mr and Mrs Kovacs were happy to see the kids serious with their study and even came to conclusion that it will be better to have their kid go to Frank's place for a visit on weekends to have fun.
When the time was already 6:00pm Mrs Donald came over and greeted Mr Kovacs and Mrs Kovacs before asking of Frank and told them she is here to take him home but was told that Frank and John are studying in his room and they should be given some time to study since is rare to see kids serious about study and their examination is getting near. Mrs Donald agreed with them before been led to the living room to sit and wait for the kids to round up their study.
"So how is your husband doing" asked Mrs Kovacs
"He's doing fine,we had a little chat today before he fell asleep" replied Mrs Donald.
"That's good to hear" said Mr Kovacs.
"And what is the doctor saying about his condition" asked Mrs Kovacs while handing a can of coca-cola to Mrs Donald.
Hearing what Mrs Kovacs said, Mrs Donald almost cried before calming herself and replied to Mrs kovac. "The doctor said he will not be able to walk again"
Hearing what Mrs Donald just said made Mr and Mrs Kovacs feel sorry for Mrs Donald and her son,they knew that Mr Donald not being able to walk will make things difficult for his family. " Mrs Donald we are very sorry about what happened to your husband, Incase you need anything you can always come to us. My husband and I will try our best to assist your family" said Mrs Kovacs.
Hearing this made Mrs Donald's heart feel warm and tears escaped her eyes before Mr and Mrs Kovacs could saying anything, Mrs Donald was already on her knees thanking the couple for their kindness.
