Adventure On Inventions!

"Okay, let's go now, there are much things to show you" Lannis walked away from his office and while Arden is too focused on the drawings.

Lannis is confused when he didn't hear any sound of footsteps following him, so he turned back his attention to his office. There he saw Arden, still examining all the blackboard and papers.

"Hey, let's not waste our time here, you will get more excited once you see all the things that have been made by people in this building," Arden's focus got split and once he processed that information, he rushed out of the office.

"Pardon me, I was too focused on the future projects" Lannis turned his back to him and began making his way down the steep stair and soon, Arden followed.

He almost tripped and fell down the stair, fortunately, Lannis hold his body from falling by reaching out his hand and making it as a platform for Arden's foot.

"Woah! Thanks for doing that, I could have died or get heavily injured" Arden sighed in relief for a bit before getting yell at by Lannis.

"Can you shut up and just help yourself, my arms going to break!" Lannis a little bit agitated and tired snapped at Arden because of him.

Arden quickly moved his foot to the stair once more and with a soft voice said "Sorry, sorry, I got carried away hehe" They continued on their way and finally touched the floor.

"Phew, finally, we reached the ground!" Lannis said and let out a light sigh before continuing what he was saying.

"Anyway, here is the first thing we made, it was made shortly after you left the land to war," Arden got a little confused and it's visible in his face.

Lannis looked at him and saw his confused face and asked, "Are you confused? Why?" Arden thought of it before saying.

"The smithing group followed me to war, right? Where did you get the people to do the work?" Lannis looked at him and told him.

"Oh! I met some blacksmith at the town and most of them agreed to help me, some even stayed at this place and also… just call us smithies," Arden nodded in understandment.

Lannis turned his attention back to the thing and Arden did the same, he explained about the things while his lord listens to him "anyway, here is the first thing, this is called ballista, we made 2 types of this thing" Arden listened to him intentionally and began going around the things and examined it.

He hit multiple things while he was examining it and it led to him yelling "Sorry!" several times. Lannis is cool with it though and did not yell back at him.

Arden came back to the first place he was standing before with Lannis and began praising him, followed by him stating he is interested about what "This thing is good, it's a siege weapon right? Anyway, I'm interested about the types of this thing." Lannis just smirked before directing him to a place.

After reaching the place, he stated it to Arden and told him to examine it himself "This is another type of it, go examine it yourself" Arden did exactly what he is told to.

After some time of examining the second type of the ballista, he conclude that it's almost the same like the first type, but with a wooden plank in front of the rope.

There is another wooden plank on the other end of the ballista with many holes in it. He knew exactly what the ballista will do.

"I know what it will do! It will fire several dozen arrows!" Lannis smiled and responded with.

"You're right, it will be useful for crowds of enemies." Arden looked at it and examine it for the last time before looking at Lannis and opening his mouth.

"I think there is a problem here, the place that holds the arrow is not efficient enough, will be wasting our time if we refill it one by one." Lannis rubbed his chin with his hand and said.

"You are right, I never thought of that, we can make multiple batches of the board and fill it with arrows and just change it with a filled one after we shot it once," Arden looked at him before saying.

"Yeah, that will do, let's continue on our way!" Both of them continue on their way to explore all the things there.

They explored and explored the place, Arden is surprised by all the things the smithies have made, even Lannis himself didn't know the things he made are that many.

He learned about crossbow, basically a mini version of ballista. About new type of armour, new type of sword and new type of ammo for various kind of things, from ballista, bow, crossbow and catapult.

Now, they are back to the Lannis's office, Afternoon have passed. The time is almost night and half of the town is covered in darkness now.

Arden sitting at Lannis office while Lannis explaining about the future projects in the paper. That's when one of the projects caught his attention.

The project is about a ship with the purpose of carrying troops or supplies, named as Khelandion. This project caught his interest because it may be the right ship to use for the trade with the jungle people.

"That ship! That is the ship I have been looking for!" Lannis getting stop at the middle of him explaining by Arden looked confused.

"What do you mean?" Lannis asked while filled with confusion and curiosity. There is a feeling inside him that he will be very useful of Arden's plan.

'Finally, I maybe can prove myself useful to Arden!' He thinks to himself and began asking many questions about it to Arden.

"Yea, so I have a trade treaty with people inside the forest at the south of us, I'm thinking of a good ship to transport the goods there," Arden becomes the one to explain at the place and Lannis listened intentionally.

"Well, if that is the case, I think we can use this ship!" Lannis became excited and excited as he listens more to Arden.

He became like 6 years old in a candy store, his eye spark like a star and his body jumped around lightly, unnoticed by Arden.

"Well, that's right, we need to build a shipyard though and I have a perfect settlement as a candidate for that! The village of Albe!" Lannis nodded in understandment. He learnt about the settlements and location at Arden's land.

"That is a perfect candidate, located beside the river and the terrain around it is at the good condition to transfer caravan!" Both of them like a little boy, explaining things to each other until the middle of the night.

Arden said his goodbye to Lannis and left the office and started going downstair before getting stopped by Lannis telling him that there is another entrance to the building.

"Arden, look at this!" Lannis opened the window and Arden peeked out of it, there he could see a ladder leading down.

"I didn't know this entrance existed! Thanks for telling me this, now I'll excuse myself" Arden. By using the stair left the building and began making his way to his castle.

With a smile at his face and a sigh of relief being taken out from him multiple times, knowing that Lannis said to him that he will instantly bring his group to that place and began the construction.

He slept comfortably that night after doing the normal ritual, kissing his wife on the forehead. A good dream came to him. He will become a king in the future!

Unfortunately, the dream was stopped by a knock on his door. He rushed out of his bed and opened the door to see who's there.

There he sees no one standing in front of his door. His day was instantly ruined, he cusses out some bad words for someone that interrupt his nice dream at the bed.

He quickly went back to bed and tried to sleep after he realized that it was 1 in the morning, just 3 hours after he had gotten to bed.

He slept instantly after touching the bed, too tired after all day of using his mind and mouth to talk and do other multiple things.

The morning came when he was asleep; it was 7 and he dreamed about nothing after he had been woken up by someone.

For some reason, he has this amazing idea about how people react to a peasant, travelling around the castle and annoy them.

He quickly dressed up using his old peasant clothes that barely fit him anymore and didn't take a bath that morning and then he left the room, hoping someone would come to him.

His bedroom was located in the middle of the hall and at the end of the hall, he could see a maid gossiping around other maids that are not comfortable talking with her.

He just examines her and waits what will happen…
