MVP

"Fancy seeing you here, Guine." She heard a voice behind her.

"Hello there, Grangey!" Guinevere glanced at him and smiled.

She saw the carbonated drinks on his hand and frowned. He probably saw what happened at the cafeteria earlier.

"Hmm. You don't feel well? Did something happened in your last match?" He asked as he opened a can and gave it to her.

"Not really...it's just... my brother. He was kind of annoying. And embarrassing." She said and took a sip.

"I get it. Asslot is somewhat similar to Alutard." Granger commented.

But in Guinevere's mind, his comment was processed as "Lancelot my baby is somewhat similar to Alucard my love".

"Argh. My head..." Guinevere winced. She put the can on her forehead.

"Guinevere Baroque, I think you should rest up. We could join the next game, I'll accompany you to the Dr. Rafaela's clinic," Granger offered.

"No! No...I'm fine Granger. I guess I should sit while waiting."

Something wasn't right.

"Wait...where's Mister Alucard? He's not with you today? Is he sick?" Guinevere asked, noticing it was only Granger today.

"He's on a month-long espionage mission with Miya. Princess Silvana was adamant of him not going but he insisted of going together with Miya," Granger shrugged.

"And you m'lady, is too kind. You should look out for your own health, not others'. I can see the dark circles in your eyes. You should sleep more." Granger gently scolded her. He picked up healing as his extra skill.

"Yes, yes Mommy Grangey!" Guinevere teased. Granger only shook his head.

Chang'e the little Moon Goddes and the esteemed tank Baxia entered the blue team waiting room.

"Hiya Miss Violet! And err Mister Death Chanter!" Chang'e greeted cheerfully.

"Hello, Miss Chang'e! Mister Baxia!" Guinevere waved a hand.

Baxia only waved at them as he was busy eating buns. Fanny's head popped out from the slightly ajar door.

"Hehe! Nice line up! Hello teammates!" She said as she walked inside the room.

The three greeted back. Granger only grunted. He was back to being his stoic, emotionless self.

Since the whole team was here, they planned out a strategy. Fanny assigned everyone to their lanes.

"Okay, hear me out. This is a fresh idea.

Chang'e will go to Mid lane. Sir Baxia will be with me in Top Lane. Granger and Miss Violet in Bottom Lane and farm." Fanny nodded at Granger.

"I'll be all alone in the Middle Lane? But most mid-lane goers are marksman!" Chang'e pouted.

"Um. Miss Fanny, I think I should accompany Chang'e in Mid Lane--" Guinevere pitied the little girl.

"No can do, Miss Violet. Accompany our dear Marksman as he get red buffs on your side of the map." Fanny said with finality.

"How about me? What if two heroes from the red team goes to mid lane?" Chang-e asked.

Fanny looked at Granger. He only grunted.

"Fine. Me and Guinevere will go to Mid-lane once we finish farming. You stay in Bottom lane. Call back up, and the two of us will go to you, is that okay?" Granger compromised.

"Yey! That works for me! Thank you Mister Death Chanter!"

Guinevere didn't listen much to the group plan. She was still upset with her brother as well as to herself. She spaced out too much.

"...vere Baroque!"

"...reached the battefield! Smash them!"

"Guine! Let's go!" Granger grabbed Guinevere's hand and sprinted towards the middle lane.

"Oh gosh! Sorry Granger. I spaced out for a second back there," Guinevere sheepishly smiled.

"It's okay. Just stay behind me." Granger said as he aimed his gun to the red team minions.

Guinevere was puzzled and her face starts to become red.

'But he was a Marksman, not a Tank...'

10 minutes later...

Granger would grab Guinevere whenever her health was reduced to half and would hid both of them in the bushes.

The first time he did that, both of them lost their balance. Guinevere landed on top of Granger in an awkward position.

Guinevere scrambled to get up and landed on her butt. Thankfully her dress cushioned the landing. She desperately wanted to get away from him, her face was probably like a tomato now.

"Granger! That absolutely scared me!" She said and tried to get up but her sprain earlier was much more painful now.

"Wait, don't move. Let me heal you."

They were too far from their base to run and they had to protect their turret too.

"Fine." Guinevere crossed her arms and pouted as Granger patted her head.

Granger gingerly massaged Guinevere's sprained foot. His touch sent shivers down her spine. This was the first time of them being this close to each other.

'Oh no. This should be Mister Alucard's place!' Guinevere frowned. She couldn't help but feel weird, she was getting a heart attack again.

"Ow! Grangey, that hurt a lot!" Guinevere whined.

Granger put the bones in her feet back to their places. Then Granger grabbed Guinevere in a bridal embrace and dashed towards their own turret, where he tossed out the healing spell.

"You're welcome, Guine."

The game ended, and they won victoriously.

"Congrats Miss Violet for becoming an MVP!" Chang'e said and gave her carrots.

"Good game!" Baxia said then put a steamed bun on his mouth. He patted everyone's head.

"Good job team! These alies are great!" Fanny said then slipped out of the room with her bag of coins.

Granger and Guinevere was left in the room by themselves.

"Granger?" Guinevere tapped Granger's back. He was currently cleaning his violin.

"Yes, my lady?"

"Stop it!" Guinevere lightly punched Granger's arm, causing the guy to chuckle.

"Well...I just wanted to apologize for stealing your kills. I swear I didn't do it on purpose. And you almost died protecting me--"

"Don't apologize, Guine. And no, you didn't stole those kills. You slain them and I only helped you." Granger said and went back to cleaning his guitar case.

Guinevere couldn't decipher his real expression because of the exaggerated high collars of his battle suit.

"Oh okay. Then I should get going. I have some matters to attend to. See you tomorrow!" Guinevere waved him goodbye, and he only nodded.

To ease one of the things that was bugging her mind, she had to visit the book shop again today.

But alas! There were no updates when the author will release the next volume.
