CHAPTER 11

It was morning as Yan and Xiao Mei were already near floating cloud city.

After half an hour the two of them reached floating cloud city. Near the gate the two if them were stopped by the guards.

Yan paid the guards the fee for gaining entrance in city fir himself and Xiao Mei after which they entered it. Floating cloud city wasn't a big city

When they entered the city people started looking at them and discussing amongst themselves as if they were some form of otherworlder. Yan could understand this because he look very different from them.

The men were looking at him enviously while the women who looked at him had a blush on their cheeks. Yan was quite different from the people of this world. Unlike the girly looking men with Jade like skin, Yan had a tan skin along with a ripped body and a height of 6'4'. His face was quite handsome and looked foreign to the others. He had a wild and dangerous look which made the ladies's heart flutter when they looked at him.

" Uhn why are they looking at us elder brother?" Xiao Mei asked.

"Don't be bothered by them" Yan said as he ignored the looks from the people as he and Xiao Mei kept walking.

They came to the end of a road from where one needed to take a right turn. When they were going to take a turn to the right suddenly someone came running as they crashed into Yan and fell down with a thud.

Yan and Xiao Mei looked at the person along with the other people who were on the road. This person was a girl who likes at most fifteen years old. She wore a green colored clothes. She was as fair as snow with charming rosy lips and a delicate noise. A touching look of deep surprise was expressed by eyes as clear and transparent as a pool of translucent spring water. Her face exuded a dazzling gentleness and softness. At this young age, she already exhibited such charm, who can possibly imagine what sort of beauty she would be in the future.

"Ow ow ow " She said massaging her back as she tried to stand up.

Yan stretched his hand towards her. The girl took his hand and stood up.

"You all right?" Yan asked her looking at her with a expressionless face.

The girl then looked up at Yan and her eyes widened as a blush appeared on her face. She quickly pulled her hand from his.

"Ah y....yes I.....I am a.... alright" she said stuttering without looking at him.

"My name is Yan and this little girl her is Xiao Mei. Can you tell us where is the orphanage?" Yan Asked her still having that expressionless look. Xiao Mei who was standing besides him said hello to her.

"M...my name...is Xiao Lingxi a...and the orphanage is just a f...few blocks away" The now named Xiao Lingxi said stuttering. This was the first time something like this has happened. She didn't know why she was suddenly stuttering in front of a stranger whom she had seen for the first time.

"Thank you very much" Yan thanked her and together with Xiao Mei left her standing there without even waiting for her to say anything.

"Ah...." She stared at the back of Yan who was going away.

Suddenly she remembered something as she shook her head.

' What is wrong with me?! Why am I thinking about a stranger I don't even know. Bad Xiao Lingxi you already have Xiao Che. You don't have any right to think about anyone else' Xiao Lingxi said hitting herself on the head.

"Oww" With this she left the place list in thoughts about these stranger.

At this time with Yan;

'So that was Xiao Lingxi the little aunt of Yun Che. There are quite some mysteries revolving around her. In the original novel her mother was hit by a black lightning while she was pregnant with her after which she was born after thirteen months. People had theories that she was one of the four devils or she was the reincarnation of the ancestral goddess. And she is in love with the bastard Yun Che. I need to be careful around her. Who knows what sort of being she is and I am not strong enough to protect myself if she is really is one of the four devils or the ancestral goddess' Yan thought seriously as they walked down the lane.

"Where are we going elder brother?" Xiao Mei asked curiously.

"We are going to your new home" He said.

Suddenly Xiao Mei stopped in her tracks. When Yan turned to look at her he was astonished. The girl was crying.

"Are.... are y... you going to leave me? Please don't leave me!!" Xiao Mei said crying as she rushed at Yan and caught his leg.

The people around there looked at this and started to discuss along themselves.

"Oi Oi what are you doing? Let my leg go!" Yan said as sweat dropped.

"WAAAH WAAAH" Instead of letting him go she started to cry more loudly.

"Damn brat!!" Yan pulled her up with his hand and rushed at the orphanage before people started to make absurd assumptions.

They reached the orphanage in a few seconds. Xiao Mei was still crying and throwing her arms legs around.

"Stop it you brat!!" Yan said with an annoyed voice.

"Good morning sir, what can I do for you?" Came a sudden voice.

Yan looked at he owner of this voice. This was an old lady around sixty years old. She had graying hair and write a robe.She had a kind smile on her face.

"Are you the owner of this orphanage?" (Yan)

" Yes, I am my name is Feng Lin, What can I do for you young sir?" She and nicely.

"Can you take care of this girl for the time being?" Yan asked her as he pulled out a bag full of purple profound coins.

When the old lady saw that her eyes widened with shock. She quickly nodded her head.

After that Yan handed her the bag along with the unwilling Xiao Mei. She was crying and shaking.

"Alright listen kid, I will return to take you back after sometime, so stop crying" He said.

"Really elder brother, you promise" She quickly stopped crying and looked at him with puppy eyes.

He nodded his head with annoyance and left the area.

Slowly he found himself sitting near a small pond near the city behind the mountain.

Currently he was thinking about what to do with this little girl Xiao Mei. Should he leave her or should he take her with him.

Yan had never taken care of children and he was currently in as world where one could lose their life if they were not careful.

"What should I do?" Yan sighed as he said looking at the clear water in the pond.
