I MISS YOU I

Kaye didn't go to work on her Monday shift due to what happened in the morning. She waited for Ivan until the sun sets and the city lights turned on, traffic getting heavier until it was lesser, crowd of people dispersing into just a few. She waited for him until she fell asleep on the sofa.

"Harley, don't leave me okay?" the young girl held unto the sleeves of the young boy who was holding his bags. She was sobbing and her tears fell on his hands that she was holding on tightly.

"If you will leave me, I will never be able to see you. Don't go, okay? I promise I will behave. I won't tickle your ears, I won't eat your favorite peach cake and I will give you my cat. J-just...don't go...don't go..." she didn't care about her image at all. The most important thing for her was to stop him from leaving.

"I won't leave, but he would." the young boy pointed at the person behind her. When the girl turned around, she was more horrified to see the person behind her. "Either I leave or he will." the young boy said again.

"I-Ivan, you're here! Ivan!" the young girl was now a fine looking woman. She ran towards Ivan but Ivan didn't bother to talk to her. "Hey Ivan, wait up!" she called to him but he didn't listen to her or stop at all. He just continued walking away from her.

"Will you still cling to me or go to him?" Kaye turned around but there was no one in her sight. Tears began to fall on her face.

"It doesn't matter. In the end, you all end up leaving me." she was tired and exhausted. Her heart was in turmoil and it was so dark she wanted to drown in it.

In the middle of the night, sobs can be heard in the silence of the room. A woman lying on the couch, curled into a ball-like position was none other than Kaye. She woke up sobbing from her dreams. She didn't know why but seeing Ivan left her was horrifying, more horrifying than Harley leaving her.

"Where the hell are you?" Kaye whispered, sniffing and wiping her tears. She was hiccuping already from crying so much. "I knew from the start that he would leave me someday, but why does it hurts so much? I hate this!" she grumbled to no one in particular.

Calming herself, Kaye transferred to her bed to continue her sleep. However, sleep didn't come to bother her at all. It was nine in the morning already and she was still lying awake in her room.

Without much things to do, she decided to cook breakfast instead. Thinking that Ivan might go back in the afternoon, she marinated some pork and chicken wings for their afternoon meal while cooking breakfast for herself as well.

"We keep behind closed doors, everytime I see you, I die a little more. Stolen moments that we steal as the curtain falls, It'll never be enough. It's obvious you're meant for me, every piece of you, it just fits perfectly. Every second, every thought I'm in so deep, but I'll never show it on my face...Hay! This song just shot me where it hurts." Kaye sighed upon realizing the lyrics of Secret Love Song by Little Mix. Thinking about the past few months with Ivan, she was indeed hopeless in this one-sided secret love she has.

She was stirring her corn crab soup when her doorbell rang. Kaye turned off the stove before she rushed outside with the thought of Ivan coming home, but what came into view was a mailman carrying a box addressed to her.

"Is this where Miss Kaye Jimenez lives?" asked the mailman who looked at her, then looked back to the room number to make sure he rang the correct one.

"Yes. I'm Kaye." she answered with boredom written all over her face. She was really making it obvious that she didn't like to see visitors now.

"Your order has arrived ma'am. This package is for you. Just sign here." The mailman saw that she was not in the mood so he was direct to the point as well giving her pen and paper so she could sign for receipt.

"I see. Thank you so much for sending this to me." she signed her name and asked the mailman to put the things on the floor. "I'll bring it in myself."

The mailman just nodded to her before putting down the box and left her alone to deal with her things. "I thought he's home. Well, whatever." she carried the box to the living room before she continued with her dish. The box just contained some condiments that she bought online so she hardly took her time checking it.

"You foolish ugliest monkey on earth, when will you go back home?" she uttered while putting some soup on her bowl. She was really getting upset now after he left without any words to her. "Didn't we promise to tell each other where we are going, you dumb ugliest hippo?"

Kaye had named Ivan using different animal names for the day but he never came back. No calls or voice message as well. It was making her worried at the same time. "You're so fast in forgetting me. I wish I could do the same." she whispered as she gave her apartment one last look before she left.
