Ivan didn't know that he was seen in a different light by his employees. The CEO who doesn't laugh or even smile at them, just laughed with a woman in his office. The next few hours until few days later, Ivan and Kaye was the no.1 topic for gossip. Well, that's a story for another day.
Kaye and Ivan talked about different things while waiting for Eva to send the documents and schedules for the day. After half an hour, Eva came in with a short report before giving all the things to Kaye.
"Ms. Kaye, these are sir Ivan's itinerary for the whole day. These are the documents he needed to sign and these are the proposals that needed his approval and evaluation." Eva summarized the details to Kaye before taking the day off.
"Thanks Eva. Rest assured, I'll help you complete these tasks. Don't worry about your boss. Enjoy your day off." Kaye expressed her gratitude while placing all the documents on Ivan's office table.
"Thank you so much miss Kaye. Sir Ivan, I'll take my leave now." Ivan nodded his head while Kaye smiled at her upon hearing her response.
When she left the room, Kaye put her hands on her waist, giving him a look before moving her gaze towards the stack of documents.
"You heard your assistant. You needed to sign this and review this proposals for evaluation and approval." Kaye pointed her lips to the documents.
"You don't have to pout. I'll read those later." Ivan responded, putting his chin on his palms, giving her a look from head to toe. "You don't look like an assistant at all. More like my girlfriend visiting her boyfriend's office."
"Who the hell is your girlfriend?" Kaye's rebuttal was half-assed. She was so embarrassed that her face started to blush starting from her neck. "I wouldn't visit my boyfriend's office." She was fretting and she couldn't look straight at him.
"Hahahaha!" Ivan's laughter echoed in his room which made Kaye more embarrassed.
"Stop laughing at me! I won't come here with you ever again!" Kaye threatened which was very effective because Ivan stopped laughing.
"I would regret that. Anyway, what's my schedule for today?" Ivan asked but his voice still contained the hidden laughters.
"At exactly 1:00pm, you'll have a shareholders meeting. At 2:00pm you'll have a meeting with a representative from Lynx Corp. I'll let you the rest after completing these two." Kaye provided the details and stopped after these two appointments.
"Alex must be done with the preparation, we have a few more hours before the meeting." Ivan took a glance at his wrist watch before looking at her. "Let me take you to a tour first. Shall we?" Ivan reached out his hand which Kaye held without any hesitations.
"How did your ex-girlfriend end up with one of your board of trustee?" Kaye asked in a whisper when they walked towards the elevator.
Ivan raised his brow at her question but he didn't mind it at all. He just didn't expect her to ask him or even talk at him about that topic.
"When I realized it that something was wrong with the things between us, we talked about it. She told me that she likes Chris. So I let her go. That's it." Ivan told her the simplest form of their break up but Kaye frowned at him.
"You didn't even fight for your love?" She spoke in a hush whisper but her voice still raised a few decibels.
"I thought I love her. In fact I was looking for someone through her and I couldn't find that in her." Ivan said giving her all the possible hints but it made Kaye more confused.
"Wait, I think you mentioned this to me before." Kaye held Ivan at arm's length, looking at his face intensely, as if it would help her remember what he said. "Didn't you say you were looking for me?" Kaye was doubtful so she asked him the question directly.
"Uh huh. I was looking for you all these years. I thought she was you." Ivan answered her the honest truth but Kaye was so dumb to realize the meaning.
"Oh. I see." Kaye nodded her head in understanding but she didn't really understand him.
"Sometimes, you can be so dumb just how you were back then." Ivan commented as he pinched her nose playfully.
"I'm not dumb! I've heard you say that before to my cat. You're dumb, I'm not!" Kaye retorted angrily at him which made Ivan laugh.
"Okay. Fine. I'm dumb, you're not." Ivan concede with this argument before she'll get seriously mad at him. While they talk, they arrived at the Marketing Department which was located at the 8th floor of the building. "This is the Marketing Department. This is handled by Chris. Most of the trustees handles their own department and we're very hands on to the tasks and activities. I acted as the CEO since I got more shares." Ivan explained to Kaye. She nodded her head to what Ivan was saying but her eyes were scanning the crowd to find the woman.
Earlier, she saw her talking to one of the employees at the tenth floor but when they went outside, she's gone. Hearing that the floor they're visiting at was where Chris works, the possibility of bumping into that woman was very high and Kaye needed to prepare herself.
"Where's your focus?" Ivan flicked on his forehead when he noticed she was looking every nook and cranny of the room.
"I was looking for your ex-girlfriend." Kaye answered honestly while a light pink started to creep out of her neck to her face.
Ivan noticed her embarrassment and couldn't help but pull her closer to whisper on her ear. "You don't have to worry about her. I only have my eyes on you."
"Oh shut up!" Kaye rolled her eyes at him but Ivan just couldn't help stretching his lips to form a grin.
