Chapter 3

"I love it, I totally love it, but I'm just so tired with them influencers having tantrums, with them people asking questions endlessly. It's not that I don't like to be ahead of everything and answering all and seeing over all, that's why I built it in the first place. But god knows how much I want to punch them assholes in the face when they try to negotiate my products in their shops for less!" - Xia waved around her cup of soju whilst going about her things.

I listened to her outbursts for an hour now. The workload got to her and got her bad. The amount of people trying to negotiate less, not even on her terms, was indeed annoying.

"And then the parents with their 'When are you going to marry? Where is the boyfriend?' uhh… Can they not see that I'm too busy with life and work to think relationship? Geez." - Xia was quite boozed by now, as she downed her cup with ease.

"And why are you so quiet? What? Judging me, huh?" - She pointed at me to pour her another cup.

I took the soju bottle and poured it for her.

"No, I think that you are one hell of a boss bitch and absolutely are nailing all that work. You are a human, at the end of the day and need to get that steam out, so I do understand you. Maybe not all of it, but some of it. You're amazing." - I smile at her.

She looked at me confused, mouth slightly agape. Then she pressed her lips, put her cup beside her and stared at me.

"Ana, what the heck was that?" - She seriously looked at me.

"I'm just stating facts. Why?" - I drink half my cup. She keeps watching me.

"Hey!" - She blurs out quite loudly.

"M?" - I nod at her.

"Stop being cute." - She says, then shows me tongue, puts up her cup. - "Toast!"

I put my cup up.

"Toast to life, love and adventures!" - Xia clings my cup. - "Bottoms up!"

We drink it all.

After some barbequed meat, about 8 bottles of soju in the restaurant and 4 bottles taken away along with snacks, we took a taxi to my place.

Wobbling and laughing, we got through the door.

"I still don't get it, why did you just shoo away that dude? Was he not some cool business owner with tonnes of money?" - Xia mumbled. - "My mum would lo-ove for me to marry some wealthy dude and stay at home. Ugh."

"Ahaha! I mean, my mum would love that too. But here I am, here we are - I rather date personality than money." - I replied.

"Gi-irl, we've got issues." - Xia huffs out.

We managed to take our shoes off and go to the living room. She flops on the sofa, I wobble to put the bottles and food on the table. Then I managed to get to the kitchen cabinet and take out a few cups for us.

"Ana!" - Xia calls out.

"Yeah?" - I reply, as I wobble back to the table with cups.

"Come here." - Xia pats the sofa next to her.

I put down the cups and sit beside her.

She takes in a long breath.

"Tell me, do we even make things change in the world? Are we that mighty?" - Xia looks at me.

"I think we change the world one step at a time. One project at a time. One person at a time." - I let out.

Xia nods.

"Let's drink to that." - She points to the bottles.

And we drink more, more and more. Then the two of us just sit on the carpet, whilst leaning on the sofa.

"...and then I poured that wine all over him and walked away. What a cheating bastard." - Xia smacked her lips.

I nodded, with my lips pressed. I felt that.

"Xia, did you ever go out with girls?" - I breathe out.

"Yeah. That was the romantic bit of youth I had." - She smirked. - "And you?"

"Me too. That did not last long, as she had to move to another country." - I sighed.

"Aww boo." - She hugs me. - "What crazy lives we had, huh?" - She leans her head on mine.

A few moments after, we fell asleep. The silence and the breaths in the night. Dreams empty and silent, giving space to roam free.

The sun shined in the room and it was greatly annoying. I cracked my eyes open with a great amount of force mentally. It was bright out.

Xia was next to me on a rug, her hands under her head, curled up.

How cute.

I got up, and wobbled. The headache made me regret some alcohol that was overdue. Walking to the med cabinet in the kitchen, pulling out the painkillers and meds for digestion, then pouring water and downing that great science plus.

I took the pills and water to the table next to Xia. Cleaned up the mess we had made.

She got up after I was done with cleaning.

"Ugh, my head…" - She moaned. Then she looked at the pills and water and took the amounts she needed to get the recovery on its way.

"Coffee?" - I ask softly. As the ringing in ears and loud noises in the morning ain't the best things in life when hungover.

"Uhu." - Xia replies.

With coffee made and on the table, we sit there, trying to get selves back to working condition.

With the silence being too loud, we put on some random show on the screen, not too loudly, to watch. Some kind of fantasy drama.

"I think I'll go soon." - Xia eventually said.

"I'll take you back." - I replied.

She gave a nod in return.

After washing up and her borrowing some of my clothes, we took a taxi to the restaurant parking lot, where we went into debauchery of alcohol.

From there I drove her to her apartment.

That was in the area that's around an hour and a half away from me, but I didn't mind.

"I'll call you later. Don't go drinking without me." - She let out, as she got out of the car and went for the building entrance.

I smiled, as she just went on with being her mighty self. I drove back, on my way making it to the favourite small café which served the best hangover remedy soup and ordered that. Also asked the owner to send one out to Xias address. A nice delivery to her door. Think she'll appreciate it. After that I went home.

It felt odd being home after such a drinking session. Her smell lingering in my house, the bottles in trash that we've downed. The way we went on in length about all sorts of topics. Yet never once she asked about her house project. Quite odd.
