Debts

[At the Kodokan Dojo]

Hiroto: "Wait wait wait. Are you really going to follow the original show that closely? You know how many people would be mad at you right?"

Well, what can I do? It's only the first few chapters, you need to do something to capture their attention. Plus, it's a good way to introduce the main characters.

Gintoki: "You call this capturing their attention? And what's with all these 4th wall breakings? Is this your way of doing comedy' Are you trying to be funny?

Hiroto: "He's right if you overuse it too much, it loses its touch."

It's not my fault! You guys are the ones that keep breaking the damn 4th wall!

Hiroto: "Don't blame it on us! You're the one who's writing this!"

Gintoki: "Whatever, it doesn't matter. Let's continue with the chapter!"

[At the Kodokan Dojo]

In an old and dilapidated courtyard stood an old dojo belonging to the Kodokan family.

Inside of the dojo, Gintoki and Hiroto were kneeling in front of Shin and his sister. Their faces were bruised from hits, as knuckle and kick imprints were left on their faces.

"Uh, we're really sorry," Gintoki said as the blood from his nose ran down his face.

"Um, even though I didn't do anything… I'm sorry." Hiroto said.

The girl smiled and said, "Of course, you were also responsible. You sat by and didn't stop this white permed guy."

"Why do you have to attack my hair like that?" Gintoki said.

"Shut it, white perm, it's your fault we're in this situation in the first place," Hiroto said.

"What's that tomato head?! Want me to turn your head into ketchup?" Gintoki said back.

*bang bang* "Shut up! Stop having your monologue when I'm standing right here!" The girl shouted as she hit their heads.

"Sorry/Sorry." The two responded.

"Um, that was our big intro scene. You know, it's new fanfic, so I wanted to leave a good impression." Hiroto said.

"I was just doing what the author said to do." The White permed guy said.

Smiling, the girl said, taking out a tanto knife, "If 'sorry' was enough, we wouldn't have seppuku. Thanks to you two, our dojo may not be able to continue to exist."

'OIII! AUTHOR! DO SOMETHING! CHANGE THE PLOT! I'M GOING TO DIE AT THIS RATE!' Hiroto shouted in his mind to the handsome author that never existed.

"Because of the ban on swords, the number of samurai has been dwindling ever since the Amanto came 20 years ago. The same goes for our dojo. Since no one is allowed to use swords anymore, no one bothers to come and sign up to our dojo." The girl, whose name is Otae, said.

"Even so, we've been trying so hard until now, but…" Otae's eye then gleamed a dangerous light as she unsheathed the knife and charged forward at the two."

"Because of you two, it's all over, you idiots!" Otae screamed out, swinging her knife around.

"Sis! Calm down, Sis!" Shinpachi shouted, holding her back.

"Ragh! Ragh ragh rah!" Otae shouted, swinging her knife around.

"Was your sister raised by gorillas?" Gintoki said.

"That's wrong, it was obviously by wild dogs," Hiroto said.

"Wait, we can't commit seppuku, but we can clean up our mess," Gintoki said, reaching into his yukata.

"What do you mean 'our' mess? This was just done by you." Hiroto said, getting up.

Taking out a business card, Gintoki showed it toward Otae and Shinpachi. On it read, 'Odd Jobs - Sakata Gintoki'.

Taking out his own card, Hiroto passed over to Otae.

"Odd Jobs, Sano Hiroto. And Sakata Gintoki. Odd Jobs?" Otae read out the cards.

"You can't be too picky about jobs these days, right?" Gintoki said, getting up as well. "Our business is to do whatever we're asked to do."

Standing back to back with each other, Hiroto and Gintoki posed.

"I'm Mr. "Odd Jobs" Hiro," Hiroto said.

"And I'm Mr. "Odd Jobs" Gin," Gintoki said.

Then talking at the same time, the two said, "If you've got problems, we'll solve them, no matter wha-"

*whack* *pow*

Otae and Shinpachi started kicking Hiroto and Gintoki who were on the ground.

"You're the ones causing us problems!" Otae shouted as she kicked Hiroto.

"What was with that lame advertisement? Did you two practice that or something?" Shinpachi said, kicking at Gintoki on the ground. "Find me a job then, damn you!"

"W-Wait! Let's calm down! You two are way too violent! What happened to respecting your elders!" Hiroto cried out.

"No one is going to respect you two!" Otae shouted.

"Calm down! We can't find you a job, but I can teach you a chant so you won't be nervous at interviews…" Gintoki said.

"No thank you!/No thank you!" Shinpachi and Otae shouted at the same time.

"AHHH!/GAHH!" Both Hiroto and Gintoki shouted in pain.

"Sis…" Shinpachi muttered, looking at the 2 corpses. "It's just impossible to run a sword dojo in this day and age… Maybe we should just give it up…We don't need to protect something that our parents used."

Turning to Shinpachi, Otae said, "Does a child really need a reason to protect the things that its parents cherished?"

"But, Sis, what did father ever do for us?" Shinpachi said.

Suddenly, the door to their dojo was opened up, and three people walked in.

"Today, I'm definitely going to make you pay me back." A short pale man said as he swaggered on forward to the group. "I can't take it anymore!" The man waved his hands around in frustration.

"Hey, are you in debt?" Gintoki asked, getting up from the ground. "You're living pretty dangerous lives, for a couple of kids…"

"Everyone has their own circumstances, Gin. Be it, debt, or being late for a magazine subscription, it will all come back to bite you." Hiroto said, dusting off some dust on his black Haori.

"What subscription?! And it wasn't our fault. It was my father…" Shinpachi said.

"Shin!" Otae interrupted him.

"What the hell are you blabbering about?!" He shouted, and began to jump around in frustration. "I gotta get home, my favorite soap opera is on. I've been waiting ever since your pop was still alive!"

"Please wait!" Otae pleaded.

"Why? Who cares about this dump anymore? You don't need to keep this up for your stupid father who left you with nothing but debt to pay off!" The man shouted.

*POW* Otae punched the man, knocking him to the ground.

*whistle* "She's got a mean punch." Hiroto said as he rested a hand on the empty scabbard attached to his belt on his left. 'What? Since I can't have a sword then why can't I carry around an empty scabbard? There's no law against that.'

"What are you doing?! Damn woman!" One of the man's bodyguard shouted as he pinned her to the ground.

"Sis!" Shinpachi shouted.

Getting up from the ground, the man wiped his bloody nose. "You idiot… Do you think I wouldn't do anything to you just because you're a woman?!" He then ran forward and prepared to throw a punch at her.

*clutch* "Huh?" The man was held back, as Gintoki grabbed his arm.

"Let's stop there, all right? Even if she was raised by gorillas, she's still a girl. Besides, I'm the one doing you guys a favor here." Gitoki said, giving a slight glance to Hiroto who shrugged and looked away.

"W-Who the hell are you? Are there still students at this dojo?! Damn, everyone here is screwed up. I don't care about this loan anymore." The man said.

He walked forward and took out a card from his jacket, on it was a picture of a woman showcasing her legs. "I'm gonna make you work off your debt. I started a new business recently. High-leg Shabu Shabu Heaven"

"H-High-leg Shabu Shabu?!" Shinpachi shouted.

"I've been collecting cute girls from many planets, if you come along, everyone would be delighted. What I'm saying is you either sell this dojo or sell your legs. So, which will it be?" The man said.

Shinpachi got up and shouted"Don't joke around, she wouldn't go to such a-"

"Okay, I understand. Let's go." Otae said, walking away.

"Whaaaaat?!" Shinpachi cried out. "Wait, Sis! Why do you have to… Who cares anymore?! Huh?! Sis!"

"Shin, it's just like you said, it's no good having this dojo it's just painful." Otae said, "But to me, it's also painful to throw it away. Since both ways are painful, I'd rather suffer not losing it." Otae gave a sad glance back at Shinpachi before leaving with the man.

Standing in the dojo was Gintoki, Hiroto and Shinpachi who watched her leave. Shinpachi quickly left the dojo and grabbed a bokken and started to swing it back and forth, releasing his frustration.

Hiroto walked forward and picked up the card off of the ground, and walked to the exit.

"Hey, where are you going?" Gintoki said, looking at Hiroto's back.

"Hm? Well, since there's a new club in town, I thought maybe I should give it a try. Who knows, maybe I can get a friend and family discount?" Hiroto said, leaving the dojo.

Scratching his head, Gintoki said, "Who's the busy body now?"
