Internally cursing the barista out of this world, Jack's steps were picking up the pace. Of course, One Shot wasn't one to stay oblivious to changes in his surroundings. Not with the way he had always paid attention during training and mastered everything in one go. Lucky bastard. Jack's chance to get out of the front entrance and disappear fast enough behind the next corner without being caught was slim. He stumbled as he spotted another piece of misfortunate getting out of the taxi right at the entrance and stepping into the lobby: Spencer!

What the hell was he doing here?! Another curse slipped over his lips as he dove away into the hallway towards the restrooms. Hiding behind the wall, he saw One Shot swing open the door from the café. Jack almost chuckled. The expressions One Shot wore were always an amusement. So darn serious.

"Alexander!" Jack heard the usually grumpy voice of Spencer call out with a surprising tone of rare delight. "How have you been, son?"

Son?! Jack couldn't help himself from peeking out and see the two men shake hands with Spencer putting his other big pawn on One Shot's shoulder. If One Shot was really Spencer's son, it would explain so much! Why Spencer always had his back, why he was the only one receiving his praise and approval and support at every corner. Darn, with his connections, of course, he could just parachute into the promotion Jack so desperately needed and wanted. His already bad mood turned sour and left a bitter taste in his mouth as he observed their exchange.

"Well, thank you, Sir." One Shot replied. "Did you have a pleasant flight here?"

"If it weren't for some gluttonous bastard from the cheap seats, maybe I would have. But," his voice trailed away from the pleasantries and lowered in volume, "we need to talk. In private. Here's not the best place nor the right time, but I'll make sure we get a chance later at the reception." Indeed, a lobby wouldn't be the perfect place to discuss how to get One Shot the promotion in another way even after he had messed up the mission last night, Jack thought with cold rage. But then, he turned away. The two wouldn't discuss anything important here anymore and he had another target to get before it slipped through his fingers. Checking for possible exits from his current position gave him hope: another employee only corridor, which he quickly entered with the id from the guard he met earlier.

Less than thirty seconds later, and he was out on the front street, running the direction One Shot's girlfriend had walked off earlier. But she was nowhere to be seen. Where had she gone so quickly?

Frustrated, his fist hit the wall, hurting him more than the opposing building. No matter, he thought, I know where she will be soon. Even if Spencer's presence and One Shot's eyes would pose a challenge, somehow, at some point, he would get his chance. His chance to kidnap One Shot's girlfriend.
