Vendor's Back Entrance of the Hotel >
Angel, on the other hand, was not as far as Jack may have assumed. She slipped past the back entrance into the hall, following a path invisible to others around her, leading her to a locked room. She lay a hand on the lock. A ring on her hand lit up once. The lock didn't stand a chance. She opened the door and turned on the light, taking in the sight in front of her with a frown.
A storage space with two men lying on top of each other on the floor, one stripped of his clothes. She bent down to check their pulses.
"Alive, likely dosed with the standard sleeper," she mumbled quietly. "But it would be best if you could have them picked up quietly, so they do not cause a commotion. At least not today." She searched the boxes and found other disposed clothes, this time no hotel uniform. Rummaging through the pockets and she was quick to hold her other phone in her hands again. "Too careless," she grumbled, her frown deepening. After a short pause, "Where's One Shot?"
"Just met Spencer at the reception. Might take a while for them to catch up." A deep voice replied to her.
"Understood."
She left the employee's corridors and entered the lobby near the back towards the stairs.
The voice came back, "Careful, they are on the way to the elevator. But you should be okay." Angel glanced around the corner and saw the two men approach and wait in front of the elevators. While she couldn't make out what they said, it didn't matter right now. She left her spot to approach the stairs out of sight from the two men waiting for the elevator. The voice informed her, "All good. They both got on the elevator."
She stepped up the stairs. "Was it around here?"
"Yes. Two more steps up and you can leave it to the left, yes, right about there should be fine. What the?!"
Angel had already placed the phone down as instructed, but the tone in the voice was alarming. She didn't need to hear his next elaboration for her to take action, jump over the rail, and hide in the corner below the stairs – just before One Shot came running from the elevators up the stairs.
