"Miyuki, I am not going to school today."
"Why not?"
"I am not feeling too well." Ryota said acting a bit sick, "But don't fall behind because of me, you should go to school."
"I only go to school because of you, if you were to drop out I would follow you." Miyuki said placing her hands on Ryota's head, "You don't have a fever, is there something I should do?"
"Not really, you can have a day off." Ryota said, "I just want to sleep for the whole day."
"I'll cook something nutritious when you wake up." Miyuki nodded.
Ryota nodded as he suddenly grabbed Miyuki. Ryota didn't say or do anything weird but just bent over a little and kissed on her forehead. "Thank you."
Leaving the maid who was giving him a weird glare, Ryota went back to his room preparing for his battle. Ryota packed a couple of clothes in a suitcase sending it inside his Gate of Babylon, then came the swords. One was given to him by Raku as a gift, since Raku didn't care much about it and seeing Ryota's enthusiasm for it and the next one was given to him by Isshin just 2 days ago.
He was wondering what else should he take with him when he started hearing beeping sounds from his phone. Looking at it, the lockdown had already started as the beeping continued. Panicking a little about what he should carry, he looked around as the countdown came closer.
9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.
Ryota opened his eyes preparing to fight or getting mauled by some sort of beast as he carefully looked around the normal street. From the houses, he could tell that he was still in Japan as the people passing by him gave him weird looks.
"Where am I?" he wondered when his phone beeped. A notification popped up on his screen,
'Welcome to the world of 'Highschool of the Dead
Mission: Find the core (Primary)
The core is in a place related to the story in one way or the other, so keeping close to the real story would make finding the core much easier.'
"Highschool of the Dead..." Ryota repeated as the memories of the anime emerged in his head making him sigh, "And here I thought, this would be a normal world and all my worries were for nothing, but then again it wasn't like I was expecting something good, but a zombie world, that's high risk."
People who were passing by him looked at him weirdly seeing him talk to himself. Ryota noticed the group of girls in their school uniform passing by him giving him the usual blushing looks but unlike usual he didn't ignore them but rather began following them.
'I recognize that uniform, so if I really want to stay close to the story my best is in following them for now and wait outside in a safe place until the outbreak reaches the school and then I can find a way to fit in with them or just follow them until I get near the core.'
Ryota nodded at his plan following the girls behind them trying to act natural and not like a creepy pervert. Reaching the school, Ryota looked around the school to check out all the entrances and exits, and all possible ways he could escape if things went south. After all, it was a zombie world, so having hundreds of undead zombie students coming at you, wasn't really a pretty sight.
"Hey, who's that guy?"
"Is he a new transfer student or something?"
"Maybe he's dropping off his girlfriend?"
"Don't jinx it, looking at him he looks like a model doesn't he? Maybe an actor or an idol singer? Should I go talk to him?"
"Have you seen your face in the mirror?"
"Maybe I shouldn't stay so close to the school," Ryota said to himself hearing all the brazen flirting thrown at his way, "Hmm...since I am still in Japan my money should work here at least in a normal convenience store. I should go and stock up on some food."
Ryota left the area looking around as he quickly found a store nearby. Stocking on water, cupnoodles, biscuits and whatever had longer expiry dates, Ryota walked out of the store carrying a huge shopping bag, basically, he was just dragging it.
"I wasn't feeling that happy when I received the empty 'Gate of Babylon' but I guess having a storage device is still useful." Walking to an ally where no one could see him, Ryota stored the food and water, "Now it time to play the waiting game."
-One week later-
The once handsome blond had dark circles all over his face, his clothes a bit messy and his hair dirty and messy.
"I should have bought more money with me," Ryota said to himself as he washed his face from the tap inside the park. "Stocking up on food was a good idea, but who would have thought that'll lead to me sleeping in the streets. If Miyuki was here she would surely complain about how a successor like me can live in this state."
It had been a complete week but there was still no sign of an outbreak, everything was normal as it came. "Did the damn app mess up or something."
Ryota who had never faced such hardships before was struggling barely keeping it together. His phone had run out of battery a long time ago, so there wasn't even a way for him check if something was wrong.
"I have a long list of things I am bringing the next time, I go out." Ryota looked at the time, "Guess it's time to go back and stand guard again, but seriously what am I missing. I have seen a few of the main characters already so I can rest assure that I am still in the world of Highschool of the Dead but when does the apocalypse start? Can't people just start dying already?"
Ryota began talking to himself like a weird psychopath, luckily there was no one around him or else he might've ended up in a mental hospital by now talking about why the zombies hadn't begun their killing yet.
"If that's not annoying enough, I couldn't even find the sense of the core in any of the characters I've seen and neither is it anyway near the school, but fuck me right? I am just the soul who was let go by the damn devil. It's not like I have a life besides trying to devote myself like a crazy stalker."
Time passed and as usual, the school ended with no sign of the apocalypse.
"If this doesn't begin in itself maybe I should start the killings myself," Ryota mumbled to himself when suddenly he felt a hand on his shoulder.
"Are you alright?"

So the multiverse travel finally started with HSOD. I chose this anime in particular because mainly of the theme...and the MC has to start killing so why not a bit of practice with the zombies to get adjusted to the whole thing.
P.S so I do have an idea about the second world he would travel in the future but I want your suggestions as well...
Just make sure the difficulty of the next anime you recommend is only a little bit above HSOD and not something crazy and powerful like naruto and some other OP animes.
