Angelica groaned a bit form the pain on her neck and got up right away remembering the events that happened.
She looked around and saw that they were in a forest. She snapped her fingers and felt her magic back and all good.
"Awake?" Ivan was organizing the bunch of wild berries, while cooking two rabbit that he hunted.
"Mn. Ouch, my neck still hurts. But I won't complain since you did the right thing. Thank you." She almost lost control and that would have ended up bad.
"Where are we?" She asked the obvious but most logical one.
Ivan had built a small fire to cook the rabbit he hunted. "Opposite of our meeting spot. Right now we're in the forest called Aster that found at the very far from the place we were originally suppose to meet at. At most it would take 3 to 4 hours maximum to leave the forest."
"That far, how about you let me shift us there? That the least I could do since I made this mess." Angelica said and surprisingly Ivan declined.
"I have my people coming and I would like that there effort be wasted. Don't worry though you can enjoy the ride back and I grantee that this place is great for long riding."
Angelica gave him a smile and he froze seeing the enchanting look. She was really an enchantress!! How could she simply smiled and it looked seductive!!
Ivan closed his eyes in exasperation to calm himself down. Focused his attention on the rabbits he was cooking by the fire. Nope! He won't look and think.
He calmed himself down by remembering the reports he read and silently figures out ways to come up with new strategies.
Angelica got up and stretched her aching muscles. She pulled out staff and did a quick survey of the area the were at.
She needed to clear her mind about a few things that happened. Most importantly she needed answers. She turned glared at Ivan's back that was faced towards her.
This man had the answers she was looking for.
"Prince... how many people knew we were coming today?" She coldly asked.
Ivan heard her question and stopped his movements and turned to her slightly. He could see that her guard was up against him and her hands defensively holding onto her staff. Her eyes looked unfamiliar to him. It was hostile.
She looked ready to attack him. If he didn't answer right.
"Let's talk like civil people okay? Please put away the staff." Ivan calmly said and stood up.
"I need answers. You said we were hiding away while were on this trip, and I don't doubt your ability. But do you really think that today's accident was a coincidence?" She sharply questioned and held her glare.
Ivan face finally became cold as he stared down onto Angelica. He started walking towards her and only stopped three steps away. Looking right down on her unbending spirit. He used his magic and to read her thoughts and also put a defensive font.
"Princess Silver, you suspect my men or even myself correct?" He step a little closer, "Princess, do you really think I would need a Witch Hunter to kill you or even attack you right here and now?"
Angelica shudder by his words and glaring golden eyes. But she didn't yield. It's true, she could never trust these people easily and right now she even doubt them more.
"Prince, don't blame me for getting suspicious. That whole set up was to kill me. And it happened in an highly advanced field of magic... That man... how could he possibly know when and exactly where I was at? How could I keep my trust?" She asked seriously.
The both of them became quite. She waited for his answer patiently, but it seemed that the shuddering aura he let out intensified even more causing her step back out of instinct.
'This man... he's beyond dangerous..' she gulped as her sense became a bit sharper. She won't let her guard down ever again.
"Princess as I said before. If I wanted you dead I would have long ago. But it's not my intentions. As for the other situation... I swear to the heavens that only our group and my men only knew that we were coming. I don't have any reason to lie to you." He said seriously.
"Yes, you don't. But what about me? I can't ignore the fact that something this big happened on our way here. This is exhausting I'm pretty sure it my first time here and I don't think I've offend anyone yet on this land. So literally all suspects fall onto you and your people." She said.
Ivan closed his eyes for a moment to calm the brewing storm that had started to appear in his brain. He was innocent the guy, but she was right one way or another.
All suspicions do fall onto him. He clenched his fist and continued looking down on her listening to her explanation and also the various thoughts that made him angry and helpless at the same time.
"Prince... I really tried..." she sighed helplessly.
'I really tried trusting you too.'
Ivan felt his eyes shift a bit hearing her inner thoughts. He knew that Angelica's trust was hard to get. But she still tried to do that, even if his words were painful from their last meeting.
"But I can't. I don't care what you say at this point. I'll do things my way and I will also do what I have to do here and leave right away. I won't risk an unknown factor to my life."
'Call me unreasonable but I don't think I can trust you anymore.' She closed her eyes to calm down her thoughts.
'He could be completely innocent and so could his people be. But that high level magic and precise positioning of where I was at. Also overwriting the magic to bring them to a different place in the kingdom... Just what in the world is going on? Angelica you'll fry your brain if you think anymore.'
She stepped back to make a bit of distance from him.
Ivan didn't move forward either they both just kept a the small distance. He instead focused on her thoughts that she was currently trying to figure out.
"Princess" he called out in all seriousness and kneeled in front of her.
Angelica instantly became flustered by his sudden actions. "What are you doing?! Get up!!" She anxiously said.
"Today you have been wronged and understandably your right to have thoughts like that. But I assure you that the people involved will be brought to your hands for you to decide their faith." He earnestly said.
Angelica could feel his honestly and rethought about a few things that happened.
'Angelica quit being stubborn at this point and try to cooperate now. Right now you need to fix this mess and then leave. Everything would be peaceful after that.' She thought about a the good things first.
