49 Conflicting Thoughts

The conflict in her eyes was as clearly as day for Ivan. Just hearing those things made him feel a lump in his throat. He didn't have any explanation for today's misconduct. All he could do is ask for forgiveness for such an event.

'I could have died.' The same words played in his head.

But who exactly wants to kill her? Everything was kept under tight wraps and he still couldn't believe that there was a hole somewhere along the way.

"Please stand up. I'll feel more troubled Prince." Angelica helplessly said to the kneeling man.

She hasn't had anyone kneel down to her in for 30 years. It made her uncomfortable and at a loss in what to do. She could only ask him to get up to spare them both. How could she even ask for him to kneel down?

"Please stand up. I really don't know what else to say here. Just stand up, I feel uncomfortable." She wanted to pull him up but stopped reaching out.

'Please stop!! like please. I understand your innocent, okay?! So please stop!!' She looked really helpless and her thoughts weren't helping at all.

Ivan's face gradually became normal listening to the anxious thoughts she had. He slowly stood up and watch her take a few steps away from him.

Okay, that made him bit hurt. Ivan respect her distance and left her alone. But he didn't remove his magic and continued to listen to her thoughts.

Angelica let her staff disappear and sat by the tree. She won't say anything anymore. She just sat in deep thought as they waited for his people to arrive.

She closed her eyes and tried to break up today's events in her head.

'That man... how come he would be here?' that scar was all to familiar to her. She clenched her fist as the rolling waves of anger wash over.

Witch Hunters were a abomination to them. She had even witness them killing women in the pretence of witches. Those innocent lives of both humans and witches alike, all fell dead upon their wicked hands.

'Maybe I should just storm there house and blow it up? Saves a lot a trouble.'

Ivan almost choked hearing what she thought about. Is she crazy?! It was just hours ago she became helpless because of their magic and she seriously thought about fighting them?!

'Ahh, but that suppression spell is annoying. But I'm glad that it only runs in the blood of direct descendants. But then learning teleportation was something I never knew. I only been asleep for 8 years. Did the world change that much?'

Angelica sighed to herself and tried to keep her thoughts at bay, but more and more questions kept on flooding up.

'Who wants me dead? I'm pretty sure that I have practically disappeared from the organization watch.' She remembered that she walked into the church organization a few years ago looking for a way to break her seal.

But she left it in shambles after she left. It was such a disgusting sight especially after seeing what was in those dungeons.

'Angelica just do some meditation. It will better than thinking about those nonsense.' She made up her mind.

She sat and smelled the earth and air all around. Clearing her mind she only said one word to herself.

"Nine" the number wasn't special but the reason she remembered it was because of seals binding her body.

Angelica slowly forgot about the little fight she had with the Duke and solely focused on herself.

Ivan looked at her with conflicting thoughts as she isolated herself from him. He felt that if he approached her now then she would most likely avoid him even more than she is now.

A dark glint last his eyes and quickly left as it came. He needed to get to the bottom of this quickly otherwise, not only will the Princess distrust him even more, but she might even leave him for good.

But he also wonder about the many things that revolved around Angelica. A person with secrets. And a lot of them.

Ivan sighed out loud and patiently waited for his men to come. The day was long and agonizing for the both of them who had mixed thoughts about themselves.

Angelica opened her eyes after hearing the sound of a few heavy step coming there way. She looked at the direction the sound was coming at and stood up to look at it from a better view.

"My men are here. Let's go Princess, we still have many things to do." the husky voice said behind her.

She moved away seeing how close he was and nodded at him. Ivan's face felt a little hurt seeing her bland reaction but quickly recovered. He lead them towards the 7 men on horses, that came to pick them up.

"Steel, it's been a while boy." Ivan smiled at the black horse. He gently stroked the horse and then turned to Angelica.

"Do you know how to ride?" Ivan asked.

"Of course I know." She spent a lot of time with animals and riding on a horse was easy for an experienced person like herself.

But there was a problem. How was she gonna ride if she didn't have a horse?

"Umm, did you not ask for an extra horse." Seeing that they had only brought 8 horses.

"Ah." Ivan covered his mouth and thought about it. "Sorry, I assumed that you didn't know how to ride a horse. And you were out cold so I completely forgot about asking you."

Okay, apology accepted. She sighed and looked at the men who were avoid her eyes.

Now what? Are they afraid of her or something?

"Princess just come and ride with me. I won't do anything." Ivan smiled reassuringly. He pulled out his hand for her to take.

"Okay." She couldn't be too rude she took his hand and he helped her on to the horse before he mounted as well.

"Let's go."

"Yes, Duke!!" The men said in unison.

The group soon started moving away towards the grand city that she had yet too see.
