56 Reports

Ivan who was visibly frustrated due to Angelica, walked back to his room to do some paperwork. He would never understand this woman and it was getting on his nerves.

But at the same time he was conflicted, he knew that he scared her pretty bad. Even though she was strong he was stronger and if anything more cunning than her.

He grabbed then papers that were beside his temporary desk and started flipping through them.

He organized his work in 4 different piles separating them on importance. Not that they weren't all important he did based on the length of time it would take.

Ever since he came to Aurelius he knew that he would be stuck in a web of power and control. Because of the war and also the King's illness, majority of the work had fallen on him and Vander. He was glad Lance and Felix were here otherwise he would definitely be bored to death because of all this pilling work.

He grabbed the papers that were on the first pile and looked through them. About 20 reports he received when he met up with his knights. They had been sent to gather information and keep tabs in the nobles that were curious, while he wasn't at the mansion.

Reading the papers slowly he stopped at a certain report and sighed.

Travis had offended another noble while he was away and now the noble is asking if he could kill away Travis, for his rudeness.

"Damn old man." He cursed at the mean minister that most definitely offended Travis first.

Travis came from a barbarian group that came from the north. With rare grey hair and red eyes that resemble the Red Blood Savages that were forced into hiding a few decades ago. He had found Travis defending himself from a group of mercenaries but the it was a shocking sight for him.

Travis was barley twelve at the time but he alone used a small dagger to defend himself from 15 men, had he come late then most likely he would have been dead.

After that he had taught Travis magic and sword skill and right now he was the strongest knight he had. But he wasn't cut out for being a captain since he didn't talk as much.

Travis had his throat crushed by one of those mercenaries making his speech very quite.

But since he was still 18, he was confident to fix Travis's eyes and throat with a little help from the Princess.

Ivan felt his eye twitch remembering the Princess and sighed.

He got back on task and read the next report that almost made him laugh.

"The old fool sure is anxious with Vander's clean up. But he's to obvious that even without my help Vander will completely eat him up tot he bone." Ivan chuckled.

With the king currently bedridden, Vander the second Prince was nominated to be acting King from a voting. Of course the nobles didn't want Vander to be the acting King but who said he didn't have a sufficient backer?

He himself was a Prince but he took the the place Tyrant Duke Heth, in Aurelius on some conditions and it was all because of that cunning King Cathal.

"Once he get better I'll make sure to punch him hard on the face." He grumbled.

Cathal who was younger than him was exactly like a fox. He knew that he must have picked it up from a certain someone.

He put down the report on the 4 pile as it was on the way to be done.

Picking up the next report he frowned. Grantee their are many rumours about him, but since when was he on the way for marriage?

'Sorry but I'm not like those Princesses and noble ladies that mess around and make disgusting jokes.' Angelica said to him.

He laughed remembering her words.

But for real why did they report this to him? He continued reading the report and finally understood why.

It must be the noble group trying to tip the power of the kingdom in petty gossip. Paring him up with not only the most beautiful woman in the kingdom but also very talented one.

Lady Evalina a powerful healer that was skilled in high level light magic. She was counted as one of the top 20 people who can use that sort of magic in the world.

But it was nothing special as he had met even more skilled people than her. Alina and Angelica were the prime examples of those people who are better.

"How bothersome." He'll just give an official statement that they weren't like that and he doesn't like her.

He picked up the next paper and that was his breaking point.

The room suddenly filled with bloodlust and his magic filled the room the wind swirled around and knocked over some of his things making him stop his boiling rage.

"What the hell is this?" Ivan slammed the report on the desk. He walked out his room and ordered someone to bring in Cedric.

He waited for the knight to arrive and continued reading through the report with a dark expression.

He heard a knock from the door and ask him to come in.

"This information... is it true Cedric?"

Cedric shudder hearing the cold tone. The Duke was leaking out bloodlust that he could feel sweat drop down his spine.

"... yes, your Grace." Cedric answered.

Ivan coldly nodded and sent him out before making a calling Lance through the communication orb.

"Duke? How can I help you-"

"How many people found out our where abouts?" Ivan asked Lance.

Lance who was doing to some work stopped and seriously answered him, "It's seems that they were waiting for us before hand. It must be the work of Earl Fehlman."

"Fuck!!" Ivan hissed and messed up his hair under the stress.

"How many people know about the Princess's where abouts?" He asked.

"None yet. But I'm still keeping a look out and it seems that we can only hide underground for the next week. But not any longer than that." Lance sighed, "Really, you being away is not good at all."

Ivan chuckled coldly, "He's a persistent bastard. He even raised the guards around the capital, huh? He really wants to find us that badly."

He was referring to the oldest noble family in the country, Duke Hethburn.

"Duke, I was gonna take this up tomorrow but it's a good thing you called."

"Mn. What is it?"

"It a good thing your with the Princess, since other forces aren't sure about if you are really here. We'll just stay separate. Just make sure your hidden for the month as per King's order. Don't stay to long at Felix's mansion. Otherwise a troublesome person will appear. We'll be in contact soon." Lance warned. He read the name on the paper and cursed quietly.

Ivan thought about it for a bit and agreed before ending the call. He decided to find the Princess right away and lay out a plan with her.
