57 Are We Still Having Dinner?

Lance sighed and looked at the temporary office with defeat. He massaged his aching forehead and decided to go out for a bit. He looked over to the little boy who was reading a book and called out.

"Helix, I'm going out for a break. Do you want to join me for dinner?"

Helix looked up from his book, he thought about it for a while and decided to follow him. The two of them had slipped out the temporary hideout and headed to the busy streets of Aurelius.

It was already night and many where out to eat or finish up shopping and head home. Some young couples would stroll down the streets laughing to each other. While some would sneak glance at the one their interested in but to shy to confess. Not only that, the magic lights added to the night.

Helix looked around in awe at the busy streets before turning to Lance with a weird face.

"Mister... you look awful." Helix looked at the disguise with a judgmental looked.

"Easy for you to say, you just have to transform, brat." Lance fixed his hat and retorted. He check his swords and finally they started moving.

"Is it okay to leave the others? I mean their strong but still. Your phone call with the Duke didn't sound good." Helix said.

Lance felt that he wasn't talking to a child, but instead an adult. Really, can't they just talk about something else?

"How old are you again?"

"16? What wrong with my age? Anyway, we're not gonna meet them anytime soon right?" Helix said.

Lance sighed and looked around quickly. He picked up Helix into his arms and they looked like a father and son pair.

"What?" Helix looked confused at the sudden situation and Lance laughed and told him his reasons.

"It's more convenient to talk like this. Not suspicious right?" Lance grinned. He walked down the busy streets holding a Helix.

Helix had to agreed since it was hard to looked up and talk to him. Lance was tall and since he was in a child-like form, he had to raise his head and talk to him. It was very annoying.

But this wasn't bad and like the Mister said it was more easier to talk.

"It's seem that both our groups will have to be separated for at least the end of the month. Our where about have actually be predicted by the opposing noble faction. Thought I'm not hundred percent sure. I still need to go through some reports that our spies have brought to us. And also the work Ivan had left back here I still need to find some time to look at them." Lance explained his dilemma.

"Sounds like a pain." Helix said and Lance laughed at his words.

"It's really a pain. Especially when you have a master that runs around a lot and ditches work."

"Ahh, sound. Like our master but she faints from overworking." Helix said seriously.

Angelica made sure to finish her work no matter what do that she could play. People may see her as a carefree person but she made sure to do her work no matter where she was at.

"The Princess, is indeed an odd one."

"Thought in this situation it's inevitable since were trying to keep the Princess's and Duke's visit here a secret. But that doesn't mean we shouldn't be hidden either." Lance said and they stopped.

Even if it was for a second, he felt someone studying his every move.

His gaze fell onto the restaurant that he usually visits on his free time. He brought Helix here because it was a safe spot. Plus it was a place that one of his friends own. So they won't mind if he damages it a little.

"Shall we?" Lance said to the kid and without his response they walked in.

Lance stepped in and paused before walking and following the waiter. He whispered something quietly to the waiter and then followed him upstairs towards the private rooms that were available.

"Here are your menu's. Please tell us when your ready for your order." The waiter politely said.

Lance agreed and waited for the man to leave before putting Helix down and opening the window to the outside. He looked up and then down before going back to Helix.

"Whatever I do next, just follow me okay?" Lance lossen his cuffs and looked at the window. This was gonna be a long night.

The restaurant was a great place for gatherings and not only that, it was common space for nobles to gather. Privacy and exquisite, the prefect deal you could get in this restaurant.

Magic infused stones are all around in hidden places that the operators placed during the construction. They are used to supply light and other magic devices that are used by the workers. But if they were not careful then the crystal that are used by workers could explode causing small damage.

But imagine what would happen if a large group of crystals explode at the same time?

Massive panic.

Some nobles rushed to the room that was caught on fire and were stunned by what they saw. All that remained was the brunt smell of blood and tattered clothes that seemed to belong to a man and child.

It's was not long when officials started to come and start the clean up and investigation.

Through another eyes, the man punched the wall in anger. He lost his target and it seemed he knew that he was be monitored. He cursed since he wasn't sure if it was the man he was looking for.

"Dammit! Duke will kill me for losing-" he felt a cold blade pressed against his neck.

"Losing your target, huh? To bad he won't get the report." The cold voice said.

Slash! The a painless cut was form around his neck and blood started to dribble down his neck. The spy's body fell forward and a pool a blood started to form around the body.

Lance looked at the body and then back at Helix who looked at him with no expression. He cleaned up his bloodily hands and then whistled. Two people dress I'm black showed up and Lance order them to clean up the body.

"What about dinner?" Helix asked the busy men.

Lance and the two guards: "....."

Lance almost laughed whilst he tow guards looked at the boy strangely. Is that really something a kid would ask in this situation?!

"Wait awhile. I'll take you to a better restaurant next time. Let's go back to the hideout and eat." Lance smiled and patted the boys head.
