My eyes spun as I took this information in. "Sho… I've been webown into an anime world?" I mumbled.
"Eh. Whatsh dat?" my blond buddie asked as he shoved his face up to mine.
"Ah... nothing muwch" I responded blandly staring straight into his clear blue eyes.
"Hehe," he smiled widely as he dragged me over to play with him. "I'm gon'a gwow up an' be da besht chinobi in the viwage! Beweave it!" He cried out in baby talk as he wrapped a cloth with Konoha's symbol childishly doodled at its center around his forehead.
'A shinobi, huh. Maybe I should be one too. A shinobi of the Leaf.' I thought to myself as the cloth slid down covering Naruto's eyes as he was jumping around causing him to bump into multiple chairs and desks, leaving behind a path of destruction as plates fell from their decorative positions and crashed on the floor. He jumped at the noise and dragged the tablecloth with him as he fell over, taking our lunch down with him.
"NARUTO!!!" The normally gentle and weary voice burst forth with rage as Obasan came stomping forth with fire blazing from her eyes. "Just what do you think you're doing!" She roared as Naruto's head peaked out from underneath the tablecloth, the headband falling from his eyes to his neck as he gave a big smile.
"It washn't me!" He cried out in a slightly panicked tone with his eyes wandering until they settled on me. "It was Hana!" He cried out as he took the tablecloth and ran out into the yard.
"Now you come back here right this instant?" Obasan shouted as she didn't even spare me a glance, knowing who the true perpetrator was. "Naruto! I will give you five seconds or no dinner either since you already ruined our lunch!" she cried out towards the trembling bush that Naruto had hidden behind just moments before.
"Ha ha ha," a new deep elederly voice joined in as a figure walked towards the dilapidated orphanage from the main road. It was the same old man with the strange robes and red hat as before. "What's the problem now?" he asked with an amused expression on his face.
"Stop watching and go grab that child from the bush!" Obasan demanded.
"Hai, Hai kaa-san, you should worry about your health more. It isn't good for you to get so agitated at your age." the ojiichan teased.
"What are you talking about 'at my age,' you look as old as your own kaa-san already!" obasan replied defensively until she suddenly burst into coughs.
"You should go sit down," the ojiichan said to his mother as he led her to the porch to take a seat. "I'll go get Naruto." He said as he turned toward the shaking bush with bright yellow 'leaves' sticking out of the top.
'Cough cough' Obasan's shoulders shook with each cough as she took deep breaths to steady her breathing. "Kaito, Sai, come outside and play in the sun. It's not good to stay inside all day, " Obasan called out softly to the two young boys sitting inside by the playtable. Sai looked up from his drawing pad and nudged Kai awake before he stepped up to where Obasan and I were sitting and took a seat on Obasan's other side.
"No faiw," Kai complained in his half-awake states as he saw the spaces next to Obasan taken. He smiled as a thought popped into his head. Smile on his face, he walked up and plopped himself on Obasan's lap with a content expression on his face as he softly giggled before closing his eyes to sleep once more. Obasan's eyes crinkled at the corners as she looked dotingly at the three of us.
"Ah…" she sighed, her eyes filling with gentleness as she held kaito in her arms, rocking him to sleep.
"Got him!" Ojisan's voice called out as he walked out from behind the bushes and came over with a struggling table cloth in his hand. He set it down to hear an aggressive bark coming from the bundle as an adorable bundle of snow white fluff stalked out of the bundle of cloth. Back arched and eyes narrowed, the juvenile feline raced into the building, straight into the arms of a young girl.
The girl's snowy white hair reached down to her thighs, blending in with her supple, porcelain skin. Her sky blue eyes shone like mirrors as they reflected the picture perfect sky above them. Behind her, a boy with similar features poked his head out and smiled as his hair, which resembled a puffy mound of freshly fallen snow, fell down to cover his deep blue eyes. They were the twins who had joined the orphanage just a couple of months after I was left here. Mizuki and Hisashi. Hisashi is older by 2 minutes, but they were both born on different days and years. Mizuki was born on January 1 at 12:01, while Hasashi was born at 11:59 on December 31. They are both older than me by about 4 months.
Hisashi grabbed Mizuki's hand and pulled her with him as he approached us and sat behind Obasan on the porch and began playing with his feline companion, a young tiger with a white and black-striped coat and deep blue eyes.
"Hyoga~," he called out in a soft voice to the young tiger. Hyoga was left at the orphanage along with him, his sister and a snow white fox named Yuki. The adolescent tiger playfully jumped at his companion, knocking him into the ground as a grin slowly spread across his face.
"Ha! Now I really got him!" Ojiichan's voice entered the small yard by the front gates of the orphanage as he entered the fenced yard with Naruto pouting in his arms.
"No faiw! Cheater…" He pouted as he began sulking.
" Ha! Clearly I only used my superior abilities." Ojiichan said as he smirked at the sulking child in his embrace. "Anyways" he said as he turned towards us. "It seems like you all have gathered. That's good. I had something to share." He set Naruto down beside Hisashi and Mizuki as he pulled out 6 small pouches from his robes. "Take it as a gift from the village." He said as he handed them to each of us. The pouches had the same design - a leaf-green color with Konoha's symbol at its center. The only difference was the character embroidered at the corner of each pouch. Kaito's was a sea green pearl matching the color of his eyes, while Sai's was a brush and scroll. Hisashi's pouch had the design of a white tiger and Mizuki's had the design of a white fox. Naruto's pouch had a swirl symbol, and my pouch had a fan with a red and white yin yang symbol.
"Why woud dish be a pweshent fwom the viwage?" I asked as I furrowed my brows in confusion recalling the horrible treatment and stares we get from the villagers and their children on a daily basis.
"Well, as the Hokage of the village, I certainly have the authority to give gifts on behalf of the village." He said as he sadly smiled, realizing the reasoning behind my confusion.
"Oh…" I sighed with realization. "Wait… whattsh a h-ho-ka-ge?" I asked as I stumbled over the new word, cursing my inability to pronounce my words properly with this infant body.
The hokage smiled down at me as he calmly explained. "The hokage is the strongest, most respected shinobi in the village, tasked with keeping the village safe. I am the 3rd Hokage of Konoha, the Village Hidden in the Leaves.
"Woaaaah!" The children around me exhaled in amazement as they gazed at Ojiichan in a new light, their eyes glistening with stars.
"Ha!" Naruto exclaimed as he gave his signature grin. "I'm gon'a be the stwongesht shinobwi in da viwage, sho I'll be da hokagi! Bewieve It!" He cried out in excitement before yawning loudly. "But firwsht, I wan'a nap…" He toddled over to Obasan as he crawled up to her lap, jostling Kaito from his position before settling down on top of her other leg and closing his eyes to sleep.
"Hah… this child…" Obasan sighed as Kaito scrambled off of her lap to play with Hisashi and Hyoga. Obasan then stood up with naruto in her arms as she headed into the house. "You kids play nicely while I tuck Naruto in for his naptime." She quietly called over her shoulder, trying not to rouse the sleeping child.
"Haiii~" We responded as we each returned to our own activities.
"Hah~" I breathed out deeply. 'What should I do now?' I thought to myself. 'This world has dangers everywhere. Even a child like Naruto has a dangerous beast sealed within him… I don't know what's coming in the future for me, but whatever it may be, I suppose I'll just make the most of it!' I stared up at the lazy clouds which drifted across the sky at a snail's pace. 'Whatever the future holds, I just want to be able to help those around me, and in order to do that I need to become strong!' I thought to myself as determination shone from my eyes.
'My, my, what a peculiar child' a certain ojiichan thought to himself as he saw a fire burning within the dusty pink eyes of the child before him. 'Oh well, it's about time I return…'
