King Alfin turned to KJ and gestured him to follow. KJ nodded his head and followed behind the King. Once they got out of the room, they walked down various halls. The halls were made from different types of marble and tribal designs were layered throughout. After walking through what felt like a maze, they got to a giant stone captain's steering wheel… like on a boat.
The giant stone wheel looked to be heavier than even the walls of the palace.
Alfin turned and looked at KJ over his shoulder, his heavy voice right beside KJ. "This piece of stone may not look like much compared to those palace doors. But… they're even more than double the weight."
Alfin placed a single massive hand onto the wheel. He wrapped his giant fingers until he had a perfect grip. A vein could be seen popping from his forehead slightly. He placed a foot in a wide stance and pulled to his right.
With the might of the King the wheel finally began to move, he pulled until the wheel made a full revolution.
Behind the stone wheel, a tunnel could be seen. It looked as if it was a secret construct.
Alfin: The journey through this tunnel isn't the most pleasant. You'll at least have to dust yourself off after
Both of them started walking through the tunnel. It was a bit cold, slightly damp and some parts were dusty. After not too long they started seeing a light in the distance, it was flashing ferociously in KJ's field of view. He could even feel slight shockwaves from his point in the tunnel.
They finally got out of the tunnel a while later. They stepped out to a whole new room. It was a cylindrical room and it was inside a cave. The floor, ceiling, and even the walls were rock-like here.
The room wasn't small however it wasn't too massive. The room was basically empty and filled with darkness. The only light in the room was this blurry burning golden light in the center of the room. Every now and then it would flash aggressively.
Alfin pointed towards the light as both of them walked towards it. "KJ, you may not believe me, but this may be what you have been seeing in your dreams. This is the Ancestral Golden Dragon. Alfin bowed deeply towards the creature, KJ followed suit. Not many could garner this much respect from The King of the Endless Abyss.
Alfin voice took on a respectful tone, "The light that you see, the light that looks like an ancient dragon, the same one that you've seen in your dreams. This dragon is one of the greater sources of my power. The 7 golden rings you see that surround the dragon are there to subdue it. If it escapes it will wreak havoc on those who oppose its will, maybe even Sea Dwellers themselves. I can't risk that. The 7 rings are placed in an ascending fashion with each ring being larger than the next when climbing vertically."
CRACK CRACK CRACK CRACK
The Golden Dragon was simply amazing. It was almost ethereal in KJ's eyes. KJ's eyes wondered as he fathomed the possibilities and things, he could achieve with a power like this at his disposal.
Alfin: I know this may be too much for you to take in at once, but I need to let you know as soon as possible. As a King, the two major powers I possess are water and lightning. I am more well known for my water but a select few know of my thunder, and even less have seen it
Alfin put a gentle hand on KJ's shoulder, "I need to pass this power onto the successor of The Endless Abyss however…." Alfin looked away.
KJ: What is it, my King?
Alfin: The Dragon tends to choose who can inherit its power and no one has been able to successfully cultivate lightning. I will be honest, I treated you a bit better than I would a normal person in my Kingdom. This is because when you told me of your dreams I couldn't lose out on the chance of….. potentially passing this power onto you.
Alfin looked towards the dragon and folded his hands behind his back, he puffed his chest out. "However, I will not force this on you. If you choose not to take on this responsibility you can live out your life normally, I will not hinder you in any way.
By the time Alfin turned back all he could see was KJ's back. KJ was bowing deeply and he spoke with respect. "It would be a great honour to help my home prosper, if any of The Sea Dwellers were given this option they wouldn't hesitate to help."
Alfin smiled, "I'm happy to hear that. I am also happy to see that the Ancestral Golden Dragon has chosen a proper successor, such a virtuous man."
Alfin thought for a moment and sat down, he patted the floor beside him and KJ sat together beside the King.
Alfin: From now on I will be your Master. You will also have authority only under me in The Endless Abyss. Poseidon's Guardians are directly under your command so use them if you truly need their help. I will tell Ayla to let Kabal know of the change. Kabal will be under your protection, I would promote him, but it wouldn't do much unless he contributed something to the Kingdom
Alfin reached into his robes and took out a scroll. He unraveled it and placed it onto the ground.
