Speaking With The King

KJ: Kabal get up, it's time to go

Kabal: Where are we headed, the market, or the palace today?

KJ: Well we already gave the marketplace a look, I think we got everything we'll be needing for now. We will be going to give King Alfin visit

As he finished speaking, he already started walking towards the door to leave the house.

Kabal scurried over and followed him along, "Ha, wait up for me!"

Kabal: The stones lighting up are always fascinating to look at. I don't know if I'll ever get used to it, maybe you did go into the future, you don't seem that stunned or excited with the new scenery

KJ: Don't worry too much about it, you'll find out everything soon…. Damn, were already here

The palace door was as gigantic as they remembered, KJ and Kabal placed their hands on each door and pushed with all their might.

Huff Huff Huff

Kabal began sweating a bit before he gave up, KJ did the same.

Kabal wiped a bit of sweat from his brow, "this is way too hard for a pair of mortals to do, we need Sindra here again or even Ayla. If they are the King's guardians, they must be far more powerful than even 10 of us would be."

KJ was about to knock on the door in an attempt to create enough sound for someone inside the palace to hear.

However, before his fist met the door a red blur came into his peripheral. Sindra was guarding the perimeter of the building so he was near the back end. Sindra finally made it near the front of the building until he saw KJ and Kabal. He swam over at an incredible speed and quickly made it to them.

Sindra: You two are back already, do you have business with the King or something to do with the palace?

KJ met his eyes as he spoke calmly, "We actually came down to have a meeting with the King, he had business with me."

Sindra seemed a bit surprised, "Oh really…? The King doesn't usually invite people to the palace after recently meeting them. I will let him know that you're here, please wait outside."

KJ: Yeah that won't be a problem

After waiting a minute or two, steps from inside the palace could be heard. They were quite heavy and with each passing second, the steps got louder and closer to the door until finally….

The doors began to open from inside, the first thing that could be seen was a fat slimy ball. As it made its way out, with another look, it was actually King Alfin.

Alfin opened with a hearty laugh, "Har har har, you've come faster than I expected, both of you can follow me inside."

And with that the doors to the palace closed once more, the image of the 3 of them fading into the palace scenery.

Once they were all inside and situated properly, Alfin finally spoke up.

Alfin: So, how has everything been going? Have you two met any troubles ever since coming back

Alfin brought his head in a bit closer and it became slightly dark, "Anyone bullying you two??"

Kabal put his hand in front of him, "No not at all, the marketplace is beautiful and the people inside are even more so. Especially Taihe, that man was very warm and kind."

Alfin started playing with the hair on his chin, "Ohhh, so you've met Taihe. It's weird though, normally people say that he is cold and distant."

KJ: Yeah, I managed to help him when a soldier was causing a ruckus in his shop

Alfin: Hmm, besides that do you have any questions KJ?

Alfin's mind was swimming with thoughts of the Golden Dragon, he was brimming with the thought of KJ controlling his power. He needed a successor and a potential candidate was in the same room as him, he couldn't lose this opportunity and KJ knew that already.

KJ put on a slightly clueless face and put on his act, "My King, it may seem weird, but I have been having reoccurring dreams since I have returned to The Endless Abyss. As I fall into a deep sleep, I have flashes of an ancient Golden Dragon. It speaks to me and guides me for the better. Honestly, I feel as if this palace has a faint aura that is similar, at least that is what I can tell from here."

Alfin was practically drooling from his mouth at this point. He found exactly what he needed, and it sounded like the Dragon went forward and made this connection with KJ beforehand. KJ was basically the chosen one in Alfin's mind.

Alfin gulped slowly before any drool could escape his mouth. "KJ… would it be okay if I come show you something inside the palace. I'd think it would be very beneficial to you."

KJ brushed his hair from his face, he knew exactly what Alfin was thinking. "Of course, I'd come with you, my King would only wish the best for me. Kabal I'll meet you at home." KJ turned back to Kabal and winked at him secretively.

Kabal understood the intention and bowed towards the King. "Farewell." Kabal then left the palace and went back to the house alone.

Alfin then turned to KJ and his tone was noticeably softer. "The thing I want to show you…. I think it'll be really familiar."
