A Broken Man's Martial Art

KJ was now slowly walking over to Raiju, "If you try to escape you might die if you fight you will die."

Raiju bowed with his head on the ground. "Then I will choose to remain in this position."

KJ was now in front of Raiju. He looked down onto his opponent on the ground, "So be it then."

KJ's hand flashed towards Raiju's back. He opened his palm like a claw and grabbed a handful of Raiju's robes. He lifted him to his feet and gave him his shoulder. KJ then ripped the sleeves off of his robes so he could bandage the wounds he inflicted on Raiju. "Why didn't you run when I gave you the chance, I could've taken your life."

Raiju looked into KJ's eyes with a much friendlier gaze than before. "Because I knew you wouldn't kill me. You obviously have the capabilities to slaughter but you left my brother unconscious. It was also me who came into the situation with aggression and demanded a fight. All in all, you don't strike me as an evil or stupid person."

KJ smiled in response to Raiju's answer. KJ raised his voice and looked towards Raiju's younger brother. "Hey, lanky over there. Get your brother to a doctor to get looked at. I stopped the bleeding, but it would be better to get everything stitched for now."

"Thank you, kind sir, me and my brother won't provoke you again, thank you for your kindness."

The lanky man, as well as a group of larger Sea Dwellers, came over. "Brother Raiju let us help you." They all got together and carried Raiju away to receive help. The respect that man garnered was truly something to admire.

At this point in the altercation, the Training Grounds were basically empty. The only person left was KJ. He finally decided to turn and leave. He walked all the way back to his home and stopped for a hot bath.

KJ liked the water to be as hot as possible. After his shower, he dried himself off and went to Kabal's room. He swung open the door to a meditating Kabal.

KJ waited a moment before Kabal opened his eyes. "KJ you know you could've just tapped me on the shoulder or called out my name, what is it?"

KJ: Oh, I didn't want to distract you, and... it seems you already forgot. I'm back from the Training Ground and you know what that means…. Your training will be starting as well

Kabal remained in a relaxed lotus position. "So, I'm assuming you have something in mind. Tell me about it."

KJ sat at a table and reached for the ink. "Kabal pass me something to write on, these techniques shouldn't have been produced by anyone yet."

Kabal came over to the table and placed a coarse animal hide on the table. It was perfect to write and preserve ink for lengthy amounts of time.

KJ waited a moment before moving. It seemed as if he was thinking or recollecting his past thoughts.

"Kabal, this is a prized and powerful martial art that many would murder over. In the future entire clans may die over this art, to be safe I will write a different name for the art. Once you become strong enough and once enough time passes, YOU WILL meet with others who practice this art."

KJ unraveled the hide and started from the top. As soon as the ink hit the paper his hand slowly increased in speed. He wrote frantically until he got to the end of the piece of hide. After he finished, he rolled up the hide into a scroll and passed it onto Kabal. "Remember to hold this dear to your heart and make sure it doesn't fall into the wrong hands. However, if it does. Make sure to destroy them, that is your duty."

Kabal left his palms open and accepted the scroll. "Thank you, I will look over the contents of the scroll right now."

KJ: As soon as you feel as though you have a slight grasp of the contents come and see me. I'll be waiting in my bed

After saying all that, KJ finally went back to his own room and laid peacefully with his head resting on his pillow. A calm feeling washed over him and he closed his eyes slightly, he thought of nothing, only relaxation.

KJ was wallowing in nothing for a while until he heard the floor begin to creak. He opened his eyes and sat up in his head. After a few more creaks his door finally opened. Kabal walked in and bowed deeply. The scroll seems to contain vast knowledge, I was lucky to grasp a bit on the first day."

KJ got up and stretched his whole body and yawned. "Ohhh you took longer than I expected. It's the middle of the night if you're tired take a nap and we will start early in the morning."

Kabal agreed and went back, comprehending with all his might really took a toll on his mental energy. KJ ate a small meal, it looked to be something similar to porridge. After he finished eating, he thought about various things to pass time.

Hmmm, I'm finally an upper mortal. It also seems like I'm used to this 16-year-old body. I might need to brush up a bit on a few martial arts just in case….. hmm they do come in handy especially at the lower realms. Well, for the next few days I'll be helping Kabal. Once I get him on track and he can advance through the art on his own, I will leave. I should leave for the Palace so I can meet with King Alfin and the Golden Dragon again. Only then will I be able to advance to the Spirit Connection Realm.

After being lost in his thoughts he finally regained his wits. He looked at the empty bowl once more before finally getting up and going to bed.
