The Broken Record

After a silent nap, KJ finally woke up. He was walking over to Kabal's room when his door suddenly opened.

Kabal: Heh, didn't expect me to be up this early right? Honestly, I think I might have been consumed by this technique. I was studying the art and before I knew it, multiple hours passed by. I just took a power nap and woke up a few minutes ago

KJ: That's good to hear. I'm glad training doesn't bore you. Follow me to the courtyard, we will begin your training there

Kabal followed behind KJ and they eventually reached the courtyard of their residence. The courtyard was laid out in the shape of a square. The floor was made with smooth grey stone slabs. It was less than 50 feet wide and fifty feet long. The perimeter had thin black fencing with a sharp protrusion at the tip of each individual post.

KJ walked to the centre of the courtyard and folded his arms behind his back. He pushed his chest out and took a deep breath, enjoying the scenery in the process. After he exhaled he turned around and gestured for Kabal to come to the center.

KJ: Kabal from now on you will be practicing the Broken Man's Martial Art. In the past this martial art was one at the pinnacle of the world. Many wars have been waged over this art in the past. Many lives were lost for even mere chances at a piece of the manual. In the wrong hands it can breed a powerful army but in the hands of the right person it can breed Humanities Strongest Soldier

KJ: This art has yet to be created. In this reality I can be considered the creator. However, it will never be mine entirely and it won't necessarily benefit me either. It has one drawback, if you are a human it is the only technique you can practice. If you wish to practice other martial arts... You will never be able to use Broken Man again. If you are not human, you can practice the art but you will never be able to reach the pinnacle. If you aren't human and you practice the art you will only be able to control one other great power within your body. This art was initially created by humans for humans. This was because the human race was too weak to contend with the other magical races around them

KJ: This art is also a blessing in disguise. It may be the only art you can practice but if humans are the ones practicing it........ They will advance much faster than any other race. Remember this always....... It is a technique other races killed to have, and that was with knowing they could never reach the pinnacle of the art. Now imagine the pinnacle of this power bestowed upon do human. The possibilities are endless

Kabal: I will make sure to remember everything you have to tell

KJ sat down and patted the ground, "Sit down and tell me what you've learned so far.mi'll decide where to start your training once I figure out how far you are."

Kabal took a moment to gather his thoughts , he immersed himself in his memories from yesterday. "The Broken Man's Martial Art. I have only scratched the surface of the first teaching."

KJ: Trust me, you are much more talented than others, especially for this art. You could say that you're very comparable. What was the first teaching?

Kabal slowly opened his eyelids, "The first lesson. It is that..... My mind will quit a thousand times, before my body will. I understand the premise but how does this transfer to martial arts.?"

KJ: It's true in many cases. If you lack a strong will, your mind will cave in much faster than your body. It's always the cowards that get away and the cowards who spill first. Physically and verbally

KJ: There is a difference between understanding the intention of a something and wholeheartedly believing it with your entire being. This is a lifestyle, you won't get by on just comprehension... You'll need to adapt as well. The art is split among multiple lessons/phrases, these teachings make up The Broken Record

KJ: Your mind may know of the teaching but I will help your body understand. I have my own way of teaching this technique, I will ask you once more..... Do you have the resolve and dedication to become the best?

Kabal bowed deeply, "I will stay by your side using whatever means.... Not as a weakness but as a strength. I wish to be a pillar for you.... One that keeps you up and ahead of any enemy that stands in you way"

KJ smiled while looking over at Kabal, "That's great to hear. I didn't expect anything less from my brother.... A brother till death." KJ's voice shook a bit on the last few words. Not because he was unsure... No, Kabal dealt had sacrificed himself for KJ in the past. This is why KJ wants Kabal to improve so early on. Even a prodigy like Raiju was 22 years old. On the other hand, KJ was just a freak of nature at the age of 16.

The four different land masses each have roughly an average population of a bit under 2,000,000. These landmasses are massive. The Adorellian Forest has a lower population. The population does not include beasts and creatures. Raiju is a once in a million occurrence. A person with average talent would reach the Spirit Connection Realm in their 30s. Each increase in realm grants an extra 100 years of life. Raiju is one in a million in regards to those who have the ability to cultivate. This doesn't include mortals.

KJ needed to make Kabal strong enough to survive against these monsters.

KJ: Kabal it's not merely enough to understand the phrase. Your mind may have learned but I will have to beat the lesson into you

Broken Man's Martial Art: A martial art consisting of phrase like teachings for the mind and rigorous training for the body. Both are needed in order to grow stronger, without one you will stagnate in your training
