As we flew through the Silver City the twins and I looked around, everything was made of marble and the central spire in the center seemed to be glowing, I knew at the top of the Creator's throne and I was sure he was watching us. I decided to ask him a question so I stopped, "Twins go ahead and do a quick fly around the city and see if you find anything that stands out that might be what were looking for. I'm going to go ask the Creator for some help." They nodded and I began flying towards the spire.
On the way there no angels tried to stop me, many looked at me funny but none tried to fight, I flew for roughly thirty minutes before I found myself at the base of the spire. Once I landed the high seraph that guarded the spire drew his sword and pointed it at me, "State your business reaper." His voice was calmer than that of the angel guarding the Silver City but it still held authority. "Arius Right Hand of Lord Death, the Creator sent me to the Silver City to get an angel to join a task force, I just need to speak with Him to get a clue on which of you pigeons I'm supposed to recruit." At the mention of the slur the high seraph sneered but lowered his weapon. "The Creator is aware of your presence in our city, go ahead," he stepped aside and sheathed his blade. I nodded and walked into the entrance.
Inside the spire was bland everything was white and a simple staircase spiraled up, from where I was I couldn't see the top nore could I tell if it branched off to different rooms. In the middle of the room was a pool of the clearest water I've seen in my long life and floating above it was a crystal etched in markings that were alien to me. I began walking up the steps and what seemed like forever I finally reached the top. The entrance to the Creator's throne room was ornate, it was an arch of carved marble the carvings of the Creator making first the Silver City, then the nine hells, then Earth and all the other planets, and finally the creation of man his most prized work. At the middle where the arch was at its highest was His image and beside those where Lord Death's and Lady Life's.
When I stepped into the throne room I gasped, the throne itself was simple just a large golden throne on either side a waterfall and at the entrance two massive statues of angels brandishing swords made of fire, neither angel had a face and both had six wings. The Creator was seated on His throne drumming His fingers impatiently, I walked infront of the throne and bowed, "Your Grace, I have come with a question." I shouted so my voice would reach His ears. "Rise and ask your question, I have important issues to attend to." His voice sounded tired and old. I did as I was told and noticed his Right Hand wasn't by his side.
"Your Grace, you have tasked me with finding an angel, a demon, a dragon, and a reaper to form a task force," I started as an angel flew next to the Creator's ear and whispered something to Him. "My question, your grace, is how do I know which to give these pearls to?" I finished and He waved the angel away. "Arius Mortis, the angel you're looking for is a female and is currently standing guard of the cage, she's the guard of Bael her name is Uriel, daughter of Michael my right hand." I scolded when Bael was mentioned and the Creator seemed to notice.
"Do not fret she is not the only guard just the weakest there, the demon you will find In the nineth circle of hell, he goes by many names but he is known mainly as Barkiel, he may be the hardest to convince to join but I'm sure you'll find a way. The dragon Is on Earth under lock and key, the human that holds that key is a man called Merlin, he uses the energy from the dragon to do feats of magic as the humans call it. He will tell you his name but be warned he will be greatly angered at being captured. Lastly the reaper, I belive you have already met this one, Loralie she is currently also on Earth, as you yourself are a reaper and the right hand of Death, im sure you can convince her to join." I stood there memorizing the names and locations of my targets.
"One last question your grace. Why did you choose me to gather them, I'm sure there are better qualified people to undertake this quest." I asked. The Creator laughed the sound as pure as a bell chiming, "My boy of all the Right Hands you're the most level headed, my own right hand, Michael, is concerned about the safety of his home, the Black Hand is nowhere to be seen and Lady Life doesn't like me putting her servants in harms way so i didn't ask her right hand. The King of Dragon's Right Hand is the King's only son and would tear the universe to shreds if anything was to happen to him. You see Arius, you are the only one I can ask to do this for me, and Death owes me." I bowed thanking Him for his time and began my decent down the spire.
When I reached the bottom I activated my energy and called out to the twins, "Boys central spire meet me there." I cut it off then began thinking about the conversation I just had with the Creator. 'Why did Lord Death owe him?' I couldn't think of a plausible reason. After about five minutes the twins landed on either side of me. "What's up boss find out what yiu needed?" Tragedy asked looking up at the spire in amazement. "Yes I did, either of you find anything?" Tragedy shook his head and Comedy shrugged, "Nothing much, that angel is still mad at me and they have great food here, I dont know why we don't visit here more often." I chuckled and clapped Comedy on the shoulder. "You think it might be because you can't keep it in your pants around the female angels?" Tragedy started laughing and Comedy looked down at his feet. I let go of his shoulder and pointed at a cage floating in mid air about a mile from the spire. "Come on the angel we need is guarding the cage."
I took off and the twins took off right after we flew with no conversation as Comedy seemed to be a little angry with my comment. When we got there the guards all aimed there weapons at us and the leader flew out to meet us. "Lord Arius it's good to see you again." I smiled and looked at the angel and noticed it was my old friend Azrieal. "Azrieal, how you been my old friend," I clapped his arm in a warriors handshake and took in his appearance, he had six wings standard for a high seraph, his armor was silver and reflected the light from the spire, his hair like all angel's was cut very short and at his side a sword with a ruby on the pummel. "So why you here Arius?" We let go and I explained the situation to him.
"I see, Uriel front and center," he shouted as a small angel flew to his side. Uriel looked like every other angel two wings silver armor and long silver hair, on her arm was a symbol of a harp and she had a pike at the ready. "Yes sir?" she shouted eyeing the three reapers cautiously. "This is Lord Arius the Right Hand of Lord Death, he has a question to ask you." I sighed and shook my head, "You're a real hard ass Azrieal." I held out my hand and she shook it. "Uriel, nice too meet you, I hear your father is Michael the Creator's Right Hand, some shadow you're under." She smiled and let go of my hand. "Yes sir it is, one day I hope to surpass him." The twins snickered and I shot them a look, "If you don't mind, I'd like for you to spar with the twins here," I gestured behind me at the twins who both stood at attention.
"Why might I ask would you like me to do that?" She asked eyeing the twins like she was searching for weaknesses. "The Creator seems to think you're strong enough to be in an elite task force and has sent me to collect you. I would like to see if you have the metal to do so." She smiled and pounded her chest with her free hand, "It would be my honor Lord Arius." I turned to my students and then to Azrieal, "Do you have a training field I'd rather not do this and accidentally release Bael." I gestured to the cage and Azrieal pointed to a building in the distance. "Yes sir it's about three minutes from here." Then the twins, Azrieal, Uriel, and I made our way to the building.
