Book 1: Chapter 23: Phenomenon

The surroundings are now calm as it was once the spotlight of Regal and his enemy again, without anyone interfering the onlookers are calmly just watching them fight.

"Are you still gonna refuse my offer? Think about it. You can have fame, position, money and even women in the Dragon empire if you join our ranks. But if you really insist on fighting you're forcing me" Said the man in the red robe fighting regal.

"You're what? gonna shamelessly sneak attack me using one of your men again? A bit shameful I would say." Regal retorted sarcastically.

While all of this are happening they still exchange blows, thrusting the spear parries by the scythe sending low kick towards the enemy, doing a backflip to dodge the low kick and gain some distance from regal.

"Men I believe you all see his capabilities, on this trial if you're not an ally that means you're an enemy. Much to say as shameful as it seems I have to remove the threat since we made it this far. And I'm impressed that you made it this far even in a disadvantage from the start. But that ends here, dragon army kill this man for to remove the future threat since he won't join us. Revealing my trump card here just to prove myself isn't worth it." Said the main in red robe and smiled at Regal.

But inwardly he was so shocked and felt fear seething into him. He has almost twice regal's level yet he can't gain the upper hand even almost losing. He does have a trump card but he doesn't even see regal use any skills!

The princess in the palanquin was shocked and displeased she also wants regal to join the empire. But persuading in this tone? A man's pride won't allow that specially on an equal individual. Or maybe the fact that he's low leveled he's way better than the current leader of the army brought by this expedition.

Swift Schwert and mad monkey look over at the group that surrounds the palanquin, that's the time when they saw the once calm open tall grassy field swaying back and forth by the auras being released by the army of the dragon empire group.

The princess in the palanquin was hesitating because she needs her dignity not to bend for others in front of everyone, she knew that regal was not at fault, and she doesn't really mind the lecherous looks of Mad monkey. Because she doesn't get harm in anyway and mad monkey got humiliated and punished yet this captain of the army won't yield.

Regal heard this and also felt the strong wind coming from the intangible auras of the army like they're going to war.

Of course this time regal felt a sense of crisis, but he doesn't have a choice. He'd rather die fighting than to step over his principles. And he knew even if he shamelessly joined he'll just be oppressed or humiliated even further he can't coexist with this man in front of him which is his enemy.

'So this is my debut huh, at least many is watching if I survive I swear next time you won't get sleep as I get stronger to come for revenge.' That's what regal's thought.

Make it or break it is his only option readying himself breathing calmly, he straighten his posture putting the scythe holding one hand placing it on his shoulder. And doing a beckoning gesture to the leader of the dragon empire army to come.

Of course he doesn't have any options left, focusing on the fight feeling the helplessness but the desire to battle seems contradicting right? The scythe started to emit a red hazy aura that the onlookers doesn't know if the aura comes from regal itself or the scythe.

Regal closed it's eyes and felt the aura leaking from the scythe, he focused his all and try to fuse with the scythe and something unimaginable happen.

But looking at the current regal's battle ready mode the army sense dread, and when they look at the scythe they saw a man in front of them. Seeing the back of the man wearing red majestic long cape with unknown materials, and at the bottom of the cape you can see gold and violet carvings like some ancient runes, at the middle of the red cape is a scythe which looks exactly the same as regal's scythe but with ancient array diagram on the background of the scythe. And also there's a black that looks like an angel wing made of feather but pitch majestic black, and the right side is another wing attach with shining glossy white feather from the looks of it like the epitome of holiness while the black represents the endless darkness.

The cape this majestic and extravagant like only a god can wear. After examining the cape, all of the weaker soldier stared and gape in shock. Some of the soldier even kneel down shaking.

This made the onlookers stunned even Swift Schwert, Mad monkey, The Dragon Empire's Princess, even the leader that made the command of eradicating regal. They were shocked on what's happening, all of the weak onlookers did the same as the soldier that looked over the battle mode regal.

"What's happening? What's wrong why are you all kneeling and shaking did you see some kind of monster? Ridiculous get up and kill this man!" Said the dragon army leader, surely he doesn't know what they're experiencing or seeing. And this is the same for all the strong onlookers, if they're weak it doesn't matter when they see it they started to shake. However the strong onlookers and the other groups and individual only saw the aura coming from regal is off and they felt imminent danger but doesn't see the phenomenon.

What the weaker onlookers and soldier are seeing is, ahead of the man with the scythe and majestic cape. In front of him is a horde of endless unknown creature. Yes ENDLESS. When they look around they can see the destruction of the landmass around them. Lots of spider web cracks, imbalanced portions of the landmass. Burning pagodas, buildings, burning gigantic trees, rifts everywhere. There's a lot of large fissure like the universe is ending and facing a calamity. Like the flames of war! But the only man standing is the man with the scythe. And in front of him, unknown creatures that's even undescribable by an actual word.

There's a creature so large that it wraps around a planet it's head bigger than a planet. It's body it incredibly huge but long like a giant serpentine creature but exactly at the middle of it's back is a scale with black spike so all the way to it's tail!

And they can also see an extremely large mass of body with 9 heads of a dragon sharing one body, but each dragon head represents different color. Apparently it looks like a hydra but it's head is of different colors. Red like fire, blue like a world of ocean, yellow like gold mountains ,white like a light, black like death , purple and wriggling around it is lightning , green like a forest dragon but the entire forest is in it's head and the grassy field in it's neck, one gray like a stone golem dragon head, while the last one is only bones no flesh.

This Hydra like dragon is way bigger than the cognitive mortal can imagine. So large that the sun is the same size of one of it's eyes. Pretty ridiculous to imagine right? But in front of it the soldiers are merely smaller than atoms.

There's also some other creature like gianth roc, bone dragons, A worm with 3 eyes that eats stars and dives to the void. But the most scariest part is in the middle a mysterious block hole at the middle of the horde, it's unidentifiable! You can see another galaxy itself but all the creatures on the field are on it's back like the leader of all this endless creatures is this galaxy. Some floating giant head, and the smaller creatures are way too numerous to even estimate in numbers.

Facing this horde of unknown entity who wouldn't shiver and shake in terror? Even tho the image they're seeing is nothing but an imagine seeing this kind of creatures exist. Or seeing this alone even if they doesn't exist leaves any living creature tremble.

Of course in this projection the man wearing the cape holding the scythe is regal. He's seeing the same phenomenon but he actually felt some of aura of those creatures only if it's .00001% Of their aura he felt insignificantly tiny! Not even close to comparing! But he felt only calmness looking at the creatures like he's the last bastion the guardian, the sole entity that can fight them all. He experienced this way back when he got the scythe itself. But now is the only time he saw those creatures way clearly. Pawns at tall as mountains, creatures eating stars eating planets. Creatures even bigger than the valaxy itself floating above the void beyond the galaxy.

"Instead of fearing I'm calm, so this is whatit feels like to be insignificant. One day I will stand above you all, I'll uncover all of the mysteries hidden within. No one can look down on me like I'm feeling today. I will be up beyond this world. What does it feel to be that strong, they can have everything they want. But still not satisfied? Why? And what does it related to this scythe? Why did I got the scythe in the first place. This tower, the Dome of Pandemonium, the scythe. All of this mystery someday I'll uncover you all. But right now I'm weak." Savoring the feeling he breathe a sigh. And open his eyes, but looking at those kneeling shaking soldier he shook his head and smiled calmly.

"Not even a tiny bit comparison to any one of the pawns of those creatures yet boasting. We really are just a frog at the bottom of the well" Regal said.

'To be that strong... If this tiny army can stop then how can I even dream of being that strong?'

"Well are we gonna fight or not? I'm tired of waiting come at me." Regal taunted.

But what happens is unexpected sudden turn of events.
