Book 1:Chapter 35: The Mysterious Book

Looking at the ancient book gives me an explicable feeling. It's like as if this book was my long lost friend that weather the storm together.

'Why does it feel like I've own this book for a long time? But no matter where I look at it, or think about it I never own such a book nor read such an ancient book'.

The book still closed just floating in the air mystically, seemingly looking at me as if analyzing me from top to bottom.

I thought of talking to the book but unless I'm really nuts. At least from my perspective I'm not crazy yet.'

"Young master what happen? Did you feel that the earth just shake just now?" Asked Mingyun.

"What do you mean shake? I didn't feel any shaking?"

"You really don't felt it young master? Holy Sh*t I thought it's the world collapsing kn hiw strong the shaking of the earth earlier!"

I look at my surroundings confused and saw nothing and stared back at him, then subconsciously I look at the book floating not far from me.

"Y-young master? What are you looking at?" Mingyun asked me with the same puzzled expression.

"You don't see anything?" I asked back.

"I see only you young master". He replied

And I was shocked inside but doesn't let it show to my face and took a deep breath.

'So only I can see you huh. Well that's for the better if someone saw a floating book around me it's not a good idea'. I thought before asking no further question.

"Let's go maybe there's something happening outside, we'll explore this place first. We got a lot of points at the raid earlier anyways".

Walking inside the spacious tunnel of the outer wall in this ancient castle. We notice that the more we go deeper the more luminous and mysterious it looks.

The high pillars with torch that doesn't seem to fan out even if all the trees in the forest wither and die. And the marble floor and ceilings looking grand and mighty but with a touch of ancientness.

After a long lengthy walk on a seemingly endless corridor someone spoke for the first time.

"Young master can we take a break? I suddenly felt tired we've been walking for so lonf already." It was Mingyun of course.

Surveying my surroundings I finally noticed that the atmosphere here seems strange, the space around us seems like... Just space. Empty space like the place where the podium in the middle of the void in my head.

I muttered restlessly for some reason I can feel the dreadfulness only seeing the walls and pillars, and the seemingly never ending corridor and the torch.

"Something's not right here Mingyun describe to me what do you see around us."

"I only see the same grand hallway palace lit up with wonderful gemstones, why?"

I pondered for a bit and asked him the details and there I've confirmed it. We've been walking endlessly on this endless corridor.

"I think we've triggered some trap and also the way you perceived the surroundings is different from my perspective. Nothing's has changed since we entered."

"Still Young master how can you be so sure? As far as I can remember the vibes in this place changes and that a sign we've been going deeper right?"

I couldn't help but frown at the thought, he's right now we can totally feel the desolation of this place. Like this whole place stood tall against the most cruel thing in the universe which is time.

"Let's made a mark on the floor and continue to walk, there's something wrong here. And we will not lose anything by doing so now, rather than later." I said to him which he readily agreed as if saying it make sense.

We walked and make markings at the floor we made a slit at the floor after a few minutes of walking we passed the same slit, we make another line now it look like a cross.

And this trend goes on and on until we decide to stop and I spoke.

"This is definitely an illusion that we triggered, or it's a part of this place from ghe start."

"W-what do we do young master? We're not gonna be stuck here to die right?"

I furrowed my brows at the thought of being locked here.

"If it's an illusion we must break it but how? You got any clues and ideas?"

"How about breaking the walls with brute force? You're strong young master right? That's it! We can totally do that"

I was getting annoyed but I kept my calm. I can feel his agitation but who won't be agitated at the thought of being lock up.

Meanwhile a group of individuals showing up just outside the valley of mist.

"Are you sure that thing is in here?" The men wearing a hood that looks different from the rest asked.

"Yes sir, we've confirmed it here after a few attempts at different locations this is the only one that match the information we got."

"Alright let's go in then prepare yourself you know how dangerous this place is".

Meanwhile that discussion is happening another sets of group are going exactly where they're going.

"W-w-what do we do? Are we gonna be stuck here rotting and wait our death!" Mingyun said while panicking on our circumstances.

I'm also annoyed and wanna shut him up but I can't we have tried all the possible means even breaking the walls, but to no avail. It's even sturdy than anything I've hit it only bounced me back that's how hard I hit.

Well it doesn't really matter because I'm only strong with many enemies not like some omnipotent entity.

'How does it feel to be omnipotent I wonder. Wait why am I thinking like this we're literally stuck' Scolding myself I forced my brain to think. But once again it's useless.

I keep staring at our surroundings trying to find a solution but the only thing that change is the torch. The fire sway and dance as if it's enjoying a breeze of wind but there's no strong or even a gust of wind.

Then we heard some faint footsteps not far away from us.

"Did you hear that? I'm hearing footsteps coming towards us and not just one." I bellowed to Mingyun to remind him and in order to be informed alerted.

And luckily it did made him snap out of his crazed state I should say.

"Is it monster or is it human?" Shortly after Mingyun asked a question he got his answer it's a group of humans. Yes humans or at least the feature were similar.

"Thank god it's human just like us at least we can figure out how to get together coz they're also stuck right?" He said with enthusiasm, but the way I see it is different.

First of all their group numbered around 33 so many men and they wore the same outfit. Like a long battle robe with a leather chest plate that looks like a denim jacket with a hoodie at the same time. And all of them wear the same color of shirt blue.

"I don't think we should be glad about that, if they know they're stuck they might vent their anger on us or make us a fodder if we ever did discover something, my perception in this place is limited but I can sense them within my range all of them totaled to 33."

I spoke in a low tone personally this makes me uneasy because for some reason the guy at the front with his hand behind his back looks so young. Yet I can feel immense danger just from sensing him from a far. How did I see him? My perception stats allowed me to do so.

"There's people over there! Look captain two people ahead of us. What should we do? Do we kill them?" Ask the the one men among the group to the young man with his hand behind his back.

The young man have a green hair and a left red pupil, and right blue pupil which make him particularly stand out. Also with his peach skin countenance that makes him look like he's brimming with vitality, his brows has that natural arc, it's not as thick as Regal but doesn't decrease his charm along with his round like sculpted face.

"Oy-oy let's just ask them about the situation it's not like 2 stray people is dangerous for you lot eh?" The young man in robe said to them.

"Just go ask them why they're here and report to me I'm too lazy to bother. They're not that strong but be careful nonetheless. Specially that guy who's hair is long. I find him... hmmmm kinda special I can't get to pinpoint out why."

He said before they entered the young man already scouted the surroundings but found everything he saw un-ordinary and what makes him more curious about regal, his ability can't see through regal at all or it doesn't function on him? He can't be a normal person if he's here nobody's stupid to believe that. But his confident on his ability so he didn't care more.
