Travelogue for product sales

As I've mentioned in the previous chapter I quit my job in year 2009. I had finally found my time freedom to go on long holidays out of Singapore with my wife. No longer do I need my manager to approve my leave application. I was my own boss and I had long vacations to finally explore the world. My mind was always thinking and looking out on what kind of business model that I feel will be sustainable and lucrative.

If you're staying near Europe and interested to find physical products to sell my recommendation is to go to Turkey and get whole sale items there. You can get good quality stuff at very reasonable pricing. Take a look their famous Turkish mosaic glass lamp with its amazing colours. It is available in most parts of the world and it is an evergreen product people would buy. There are so many products available ranging from textiles, clothings, shoes etc. especially if you go around the small streets outside the grand bazaar, you can find shops that will sell to you only if you buy in bulk.

The Grand Bazaar in Istanbul is one of the largest and oldest market in the world, with 61 covered streets and over 4,000 shops on a total area of 30,700 m. It is attracting between 250,000 and 400,000 visitors daily. In 2014, it was listed No.1 among the world's most-visited tourist attractions with 91,250,000 annual visitors. It is regarded as one of the oldest shopping malls of the world.

Another way of getting your physical product in bulk is by on line shopping. Personally I have brought items from Alibaba.com. This is the fastest way to start a business if you prefer. Start to explore the products that interest you from wholesale vendors. Most of the vendors will reply to you if you have any queries by using their digital platform. You can also ask them to ship to your address. If you're not sure which products can sell. Browse through the popular e-commerce website and find out which products are best sellers. Order their minimum quantity or purchase samples. Test, use and know your product well. Then you can try and list your product on FB market place or any popular e-commerce websites. Find out where your customers usually will come from. You need to experiment a few products before you know what is right for you.
