Overcoming Conflicts

As your sales grow both of you will always be constantly talking about making decisions on the business process on how it should be handled.

This is good if both of you can interact and negotiate to a win win conclusion or rather a solution without any grudges.

After all spending time with each other every day is a secret ingredient to making your marriage last a lifetime with a sustainable business. You have to constantly communicate with your spouse for updates and get to know issues that may arise. Remember both of you must work as a team. I think a husband and wife team is a success formula if you're starting a business. You can instantly discuss any issues and resolve quicker than most corporate company can.

Negotiate very hard on certain issues but do not order instructions to your partner. Example the men might say I'm in charge here you do as you are told to do. Do not use authority to have your way. Instead be compassionate and understand your partner. Why is your spouse reacting in this manner? Understanding each others interest and question why in a good way and tone of voice. It will open up doors of learning from each other. Cooperation between the two of you is vital for your business to grow.

These four principles of negotiation method may resolve on issues when both of you have a conflicting interests.

These principles of negotiation I hope can help eliminate conflicts between partners.

1. Separate your partner from the issue. Don't use the blame game. Instead focus on the issue itself and brainstorm ideas for improvement.

2. Negotiate positively with your business interest as the top priority.

3. If you are faced with a difficult and hard to make decision. Develop a set of criteria that both of you can agree upon. Based on that criteria make a judgement to qualify a certain decision.

These are just principles and not hard rules the main aim is to resolve conflicts as soon as possible and push on forward towards implementing your solutions and decisions on your business process.

Once you have established your business process. You can start to establish certain rules. Example is delivery timing, promotion details or even how the standard packaging and invoice should look like.

When your business processes have more clarity and systematic the chances for a conflict between both of you with drastically reduced. In this way you will have more time to concentrate on your marketing and sales which is more important for your business.
