**two days later**
It was finally here the day of the surgery, I was so nervous and yet happy because I was finally here and ready to get it over with. Mason and Jenny came with me, my mother already explained the situation to the doctor so he was fine with Jenny bringing me. I was surprised Mason wanted to come Jenny had told him he could stay home, but he told her he wanted to come. She made sure he was coming, so he could see me after surgery and not because he thought something bad was going to happen. He reassured her he was coming just to support me. After I got on the table all I remember was the doctor putting a mask on me and telling me to count backwards from 10 slowly.
**doctor's pov**
After she was asleep we prepared every thing and stared making a small incision in the young girls back. I was a fairly new doctor, but I "knew" what I was doing so nothing bad "should" happen. Every thing was perfectly in place when we were about to see her up she stared severely bleeding. We quickly removed the bars to see what had been bleeding, her spine was bleeding we quickly sorted out what was causing it. She had been allergic to the type of metal that made the bars. After the bleeding stopped we put a new bars in that were made of a different type of medal and sewed her up without any complications this time. After she was all sewn up we made sure the bleeding didn't cause any damage. There was no damage but there could be later, so we decided to keep a close eye on her until she woke up. When she woke up about a hour or two later we questioned her to make sure she was fine she answered all the questions right, so we came to the conclusion that she would be fine. Just to be safe we told her she should stay three weeks instead of two. She agreed and asked for her family.
**selena's pov**
Jenny walked in soon after I asked the doctor if he could get my family. After Jenny came Mason but instead of a happy smile like Jenny he had a concerned frown. I looked at him with a big smile and said in the most reassuring voice I had "I'm fine". His frown quickly turned into a smile. They both went to hug me but the doctor stopped them and said they shouldn't until after I get my stitches out incase they accidentally tear them or something. Mason looked disappointed, all I could focus on was Mason he didn't have to come yet he did. Did he really care, I mean yes I was his "sister" correction stepsister, but he could care without coming I sure he knew that because I told him that before we left. All he did was laugh and get in the car barely ignologing what I had just said. Jenny had to leave and get dinner for her and Mason, I couldn't eat any real food for three days. Before she left Mason told her he was staying here with me, I turned to him and told him he should go, he simply shook his head and stayed put. After she left I asked Mason why he stayed he told me he thought I needed company. I joked "I have the TV" we both started laughing and I asked him why he really stayed this time he answered differently he said "I was worried and I have my reasons". I knew exactly what he was talking about, my spine bleeding was just an allergic reaction no big deal. Just when I thought we were done talking he added "Plus your my" he stared at my blankly for a second then said "sist..er". I was confused on why he said it like it wasn't the right answer or at least he didn't want it to be the answer. Did he like me or something, no that's impossible he's my "brother". Well I guess we aren't blood related, but nothing could ever happen between us. Could it?
