I struggled at first to get my gear on, which was probably due to the fact that my bag's straps were alI tangled up.
"We don't have all day, let's just get this over with." I nodded at Jp, "yeah, I'm not looking forward to spending a lot of time with those monsters either".

"We don't have all day, let's just get this over with." I nodded at Jp, "yeah, I'm not looking forward to spending a lot of time with those monsters either".
With the ever so growing number of living dead, I was glad that I still had my life... But even so, once I leave the camp, that fact might soon change.
I took my M1911 pistol out of the bag and checked the ammo that was in it's magazine clip. It would seem like I have about 35 rounds left, that which included the mag that was already in the gun. Though, if all goes well it should be more than enough. I shuddered slightly at the thought of me and the boys running out of ammo, if that were to happen; there would be nothing to save us from the zombies. That was when I heard the shuffling of feet and knew that it was about the time. As the two boys were already headed towards the entry gate to the camp. The gate was black and rusted but looks can be decieving, since that gate sturdier then it appeared to be. At one point, it even helped with fending off a handful of zombies.
The metallic cranking of chains snapped me back into reality, as the gate started to rise up before eventually stopping with a click. Signaling that it had risen as far as it could go. I looked back at the camp and the grey barricaded walls that was outlined around it, and sighed. You'd think the camp wouldn't be as safe as it was, sitting close to a city and all. Sean patted me on my shoulders "Don't worry things are gonna be fine, just try not to think the worse". I nodded back. "Alright I don't have all day, get a move on you three". A male voice ushered us. "Alright Barry, see you in a few". Jp called back as he proceeded to walk away; passing under the gate.
I walked into the open, with Sean following a couple of seconds after me. The first thing I noticed was the city in the distance, which seemed to be the focus of our destination. "Well this should be fun." I mumbled as I passed Jamie and began trekking down the long and empty road. "Try not to think the worse huh, no offense Sean..but if we are gonna have to head into the city to get the gas; I can't help but to think the worse!" Jp mocked as he pointed towards the city in the distance.
"The other teams should have eliminated all of the zombies around this area, the only thing we need to worry about is the city". I nodded acknowledging as the boy proceeded to talk. "As for the city, our plan is to use the alley ways or rooftops to our advantage. Out of sight out of mind, alright?". "Yeah and if all goes well, we wouldn't have to use any of our remaining ammo." I added.
All the while, the gate creaked and thudded behind us. Signaling that as of right now, we would be on our own. To which we took as a sign to be on our marry way.
It took us a total of 14 minutes to reach the outskirts of the city, which from there we could see the overall damage. With the roads littered with trash and abandoned cars, as well as cracked roads with grass growing out of them. Seemed like a sight out of a movie. The stores seemed to be in somewhat of an okay condition, with some having broken windows with glass littering the sidewalk.
"There seems to be only a handful of zombies in the city, if we kill them maybe we can reclaim it?"
"It's never that easy Jp. As far as we can see, there only seems to be about 25 or so zombies. But that doesn't account for the ones that my be inside of the buildings or stuck somewhere. So I say we still should go with our original plan and exercise caution."
"Sorry Jamie, but I agree with Sean. Although I would love to reclaim the city and all. Sean has a point." I added as Jp nodded in agreement.
I took a deep breath and looked up at the blue sky, pretending not to see the grey clouds overhead. If it were to rain, we could possibly use that as cover for any noise that we were to make, but that all would depend on how hard it would rain.
I leaned over to Sean, who was looking through his binoculars and checking out the city."You found a safe entry point yet?". The boy lowered the binoculars and sighed. "From what I can see, the best and safest entry would be us cutting through the alleyway behind the Liberty Tax building; and climbing up the fire escape of the apartment, located around the corner. But as I said before, exercise caution. There's no telling what we'll run into out there".
"Sounds like a plan to me." Sean then buried his binoculars in his bag before turning to me and Jp. "Alright y'all, let's head out; make sure to check our surroundings."
