Red wine, champagne, and whiskey

She called Big Boss at the break room the moment she left CEO Fei's office. She hated missing her missions, but at the same time, at least she could grab a couple more hours of sleep after attending the party tonight.

The phone rang three times before Big Boss picked up. "Yes, shadow fox?"

She took a deep breath before spilling the beans. "Big Boss, I need to work overtime at the company tonight."

"Hmm."

"Hmm? What's with that reaction?" Was that an approval? She frowned.

Big Boss sighed. He had a highly confidential case he wanted to hand over to her. But the more he thought about it, the more he realized that she'd been working too much at Juyan. She was a workaholic spy. She honestly needed to step back and live her life a little. "Well I guess I'm going to have to assign the new government case to snake."

Ying Yue groaned. "Do you have to give all my good cases to that man?" He was teasing. She knew he'd dangle a good case right before her eyes. Government cases were extremely tricky and interesting. Corruption, fraud, the whole shebang.

"What can I do? You're busy, he's free, and he's the second-best agent around here." It was true. Next to Ying Yue, the most capable one would be snake. And although there was no bad blood between them, Ying Yue's natural competitiveness tended to kick in at times. She felt like screaming her head off right now. But then again, she already gave her word to CEO Fei. There was really nothing she could do.

Ying Yue had to rush home to change into a dress and fix herself, and then rush back to the company to assist CEO Fei with the things he needed before they left for the party. It was such a hassle for her that she found herself mentally cursing her boss the entire time. She thought maybe she could call him Annoying Fei, or better yet, Monster Fei.

As always, CEO Fei was quiet during their ride to the event. He was staring out the window and lost in his thoughts. Ying Yue was on the other side of the passenger seat, deciding on which nickname she should use for CEO Fei on her phone. She decided to go with Monster Fei. She snickered silently. That was a very apt nickname for him. That's what he deserved for forcing her to do overtime.

When they got to the party, the event had already started and the venue was packed. A passing waiter was carrying glasses of white wine on his tray and offered it to them. "Wine, sir, miss."

Fei Huangjin narrowed his eyes at the drink offered to him. Ying Yue could see the subtle change in her boss's expression and took over.

"Do you have red wine?" She asked politely. She knew Fei Huangjin only drank three types of alcohol: red wine, champagne, and whiskey. Nothing else. She also knew that he was too much of a gentleman to refuse people when he was offered otherwise, and he always ended up taking a glass and pouring the unfortunate drink on a nearby plant.

The waiter shook his head. "Not tonight, miss."

"How about champagne?"

"That, we do have. But it is to be served at a later time, when the product is launched."

She gave the man a seductive smile and batted her eyelashes at him, "Would you be so kind as to bring me two glasses of champagne? I'd like them right now, please."

The waiter blushed from the tip of his ears down to his neck. The woman was quite pretty, and he could not refuse her especially when she started batting her eyelashes at him.

Fei Huangjin observed the encounter with a steeled look on his face.

"Please…" She winked.

That did it. The waiter nodded his head. "I will be back in a minute, miss."

True to his word, he indeed came back after a minute with two flutes of champagne. She passed one to her boss as he looked at her with interest. Attentive and knowledgeable on the things that he preferred -- truly the perfect secretary. He knew that she was aware of her beauty and used it to her advantage. But even so, she had never tried to seduce him. He'd had secretaries who did more than just "accidentally" open a button on their shirt to give him a full view of their boobs. He shuddered at the memory. Huangjin was thankful she wasn't like that.

A stout man near them caught Ying Yue's eye and she inched her lips close to her boss so she could whisper in his ear. "Mr. Fei, to your left, 10 o'clock, is the Mayor of A city. Since one of our upcoming projects will be conducted there, it would be wise to gain his friendship."

He stole a glance to his left, locating the man she was referring to.

"Also, after your talk with him, you'll need to show your face to CEO Zhang. I'll look out for him while you have a chat with the mayor." She was already scanning the crowd for the CEO as she said this. Well, if she couldn't be at Juyan tonight, she might as well perform her secretary duties like a spy.

He nodded at her and made his way slowly to the mayor. He couldn't help but think that maybe he should talk to her about revising her contract for more overtime. He could give her a raise. That night, he found that he liked having her beside him on events like these. He didn't need to think or strategize too much. Secretary Ying could do that for him.
