Favorite grandson

Ying Yue had been told not to mention anything about Fei Yangcheng, but she couldn't help it. Lin Wenshun didn't even at least try to know more about her before passing off judgment as if she was a goddess in her own right.

What's more, the woman was staring daggers at her and looking her up and down, judging her for every tiny detail she must have disliked. It made her a bit self-conscious.

If that wasn't annoying and frustrating, she didn't know what was!

The front door closed with a loud slam, and Fei Haocheng's voice spilled into the hall. "Grandma, grandpa, your favorite grandson is here! Has dinner started yet?" His grinning face appeared in the living room, but he froze on the spot when he saw Ying Yue and his mother at a stand-off, gazing intensely at each other like they were about to have a cat fight. "Uh…"

If he allowed anything to happen to Secretary Ying, Fei Huangjin was surely going to kill him first, and maybe even cancel all his vacation leaves for the rest of the year.

"Secretary Ying, hey! Grandma, looking good. Mother, there you are!" He quickly approached Lin Wenshun and wrapped an arm around her shoulders, pulling her away.

"Haocheng, I haven't finished talking to Miss Ying."

He brushed off her words with a laugh. "There will be plenty of time to talk to her during dinner. Can't I give my mom a hug?" His arms immediately enveloped her into a bear hug, messing up her clothes and hair in the process.

"Haocheng, my hair!"

"Oh come on, mom."

Grandma Fei sighed, relieved at Fei Haocheng's timely arrival. She wasn't sure how the situation would have progressed if he hadn't come on time. She turned to the girl beside her, who was still observing Lin Wenshun from afar. "Don't mind Wenshun's attitude. She can be a bit rude, but she's had it hard in this family."

Ying Yue thought about it for a while and then nodded. She may have been a bit too rude, herself. However, in her opinion, she only fought back because that woman started it.

She didn't do anything wrong.

"Ah, brother Huang! Grandpa! Why are you two always hanging out in the study without me?"

Fei Huangjin walked side by side with the old master, and his eyes immediately searched the room until they landed on Ying Yue.

She hurriedly looked away, her red-tinged cheeks growing brighter by the second. It dawned on her that Fei Huangjin only left her with one warning about his mother, and that was not to bring up his father in front of her. She didn't comply and ran her mouth off instead. How was she going to explain to him about what happened?

However, she still thought she didn't do anything wrong.

He smirked at the flash of stubbornness on her face and turned to his brother, who had one arm around Lin Wenshun and the other around Grandpa Fei. Lin Wenshun's expression seemed a little off, like she was thinking hard about something she disliked.

He glanced over at Ying Yue again.

Fei Haocheng still wasn't done with annoying the people in the house, and he was now trying to shake the old master's shoulder in an effort to gain his attention. "Grandpa, are you listening to me? Can you even hear me?"

"I may be old but I'm not deaf, you idiot." He shook his head at his younger grandson. He really didn't understand how Fei Haocheng ended up as a free-spirited idiot after they had molded Fei Huangjin to be brilliantly serious. The old master shrugged off his grandson's arm and hobbled over to his wife. He merely nodded at Ying Yue before picking up the old madame and leading her to the direction of the dining room. "Since everyone's here, let's have dinner."

She didn't know why, but old master Fei sort of reminded her of Fei Huangjin, who was cold to everyone else in the company but to her. Maybe when they grew older, he'd be exactly like him, too.

She flushed a deeper shade of red as she realized that she just thought of them getting married.
