Can you take her out?

His phone rang, and Su Jianjun took it out from his breast pocket.

The screen flashed with an all-too-familiar name, and his lips thinned in anticipation. He pressed the green button to accept the call and a rather lazy voice filtered through the phone that was so typical of Wang Longwei.

"Have you met the girl yet?"

He rolled his eyes. "Yes." He couldn't help but think that although Wang Longwei was the master of the Jade Circle, the brains behind everything was he himself -- Su Jianjun. He made the syndicate progress over the years that Longwei made it stagnate, and he'd been busy expanding the Jade Circle across the country. That was more than expected as the vanguard [1].

And if it wasn't for Wang Longwei's stupid decisions over how to deal with the case of Chen Shen -- the Jade Circle wouldn't be in this mess and the girl wouldn't be a threat. Come to think of it, they haven't fully confirmed if Ying Yue was that man's sister, but then again, that was now part of his mission.

Gain her trust. Get information. Take her off Fei Huangin's hands.

"Can you take her out?" Wang Longwei said languidly, talking as if Ying Yue was the well-protected king in a chess board, which, if taken out, the game would be over. However, Su Jianjun knew better than that.

Ying Yue was the queen. She was dangerous, and with Fei Huangjin by her side, she can move in all directions. But if her guard was down and she wasn't protected… "I have plans for her which I suggest you do not foil."

"Su Jianjun…" he laughed, "you are my brother, but don't forget that I'm the master of the Jade Circle."

He smirked in reply to Wang Longwei's sleazy words. "And don't forget you wouldn't be able to stay as its master without me around, brother. After all," he continued, "I can survive without the Jade Circle, but can you?"

There was silence at the other end of the line and Su Jianjun knew he had gotten to him.

He chuckled. "Oh don't be so serious, Longwei."

"Do what you have to do. But one way or another she will eventually have to disappear." Wang Longwei cursed inside his head, feeling a lot like his position was dangling on a thread now that Su Jianjun was back. But he had no choice. Su Jianjun was an unknown presence of the Jade Circle, and he was good -- too good -- in deception and manipulation.

He couldn't afford to lose his vanguard.

"Of course, master Wang." Su Jianjun ended the call himself, and he turned his head to stare outside the window of his moving car. The high-rise buildings of S city were whizzing past him, and the sidewalks were littered with young people, just like he once was.

Later that night, alone in his house, Su Jianjun was sipping on some wine as his mind flew back to the girl.

He pondered his next move for a while, before picking up his phone and searching through his record of her file. Her number was included in it, and he copied it to his phonebook.

His lips pursed in concentration as he thought about what to say. Then, his fingers flew quickly across the screen.

Sent.

When Ying Yue got the message, she had just arrived at her apartment, kicking off her heels and letting down her hair. Her phone buzzed, signaling an incoming message, and she sat on her couch to check if it was Fei Huangjin, and if he finally had gotten the hang of texting.

But when she swiped her phone open, it was an unknown number.

"Don't you think you owe me a meal?" it said.

Her eyes narrowed, and she briefly considered the possibility that it was Su Jianjun who had contacted her. She didn't owe anyone anything, except him. Well, actually, maybe she did owe Big Boss a lot, but he never sent messages like this one.

"Who's this please?" she replied.

"Su Jianjun, at your service milady." His reply was almost instant, and her eyebrows furrowed as she wondered how he'd gotten ahold of her phone number.

"Director Su, I don't recall providing you with my contact information."

The next thing she knew, there was a continuous buzz on her phone. Su Jianjun was calling her.
