Good morning, Mrs. Fei

For a second, Guan Ting became speechless. How impatient could his master be?

In fact, he did actually ask about the documents left by some man named Ying Shen, and his eyes scanned the e-mail for the answer to that question. "Yeah, here-"

"Proceed."

Guan Ting massaged the muscles of his neck. What was the rush for? "It says here: The night Ying Shen was reported to have been assassinated by the Jade Circle, was the day the master brought out a stack of documents from the bunker. He asked me to hand it to Juyan. And so I did."

Silence rang in Fei Huangjin's ears as his eyes were wide with anticipation. How could the documents be at Juyan? Ying Yue had been at Juyan all these years. It couldn't be at Juyan. Unless… "Who did he give it to?"

Guan Ting scanned the document again, but anything about the documents ended there. He frowned. "That's all there is, boss. Should I e-mail him again?"

Fei Huangjin shook his head. "No. Call him. Call him now. I want to know who he gave it to right at this moment." His fingers twitched. If the documents were given to Big Boss, why didn't he give them to Ying Yue? It didn't make any sense.

"But boss…"

"What?"

The annoyed tone of his master was apparent, and Guan Ting's lips thinned as he thought about how furious the man would be with what he was about to say. "He doesn't have a phone."

Fei Huangjin picked up a pair of chopsticks and started mixing the eggs that had been waiting on him for a while. Ying Yue was getting up soon, and his wife was expecting breakfast. "You're telling me, that this man has a computer to answer e-mails but doesn't have a phone? Guan Ting, are you losing your touch? Should I demote you? Should I send you to the rural countryside for a year?"

The man on the other end of the phone felt wronged, and he suppressed the reflex instinct to growl at the master he was loyal to. In the end, he sucked it up. "I'll e-mail him right this instant, sir."

"If I'm not updated with an answer after an hour, I'll demote you."

"But boss--"

Click. Fei Huangjin ended the call and slipped his phone into his pocket, taking out the cilantro from the refrigerator and chopping them up to slip them into the scrambled eggs. It wasn't until minutes later when slender arms wrapped around him, and a soft body pressed itself on to his back. The ugly look on his face paved the way for a smile to reach his lips.

"Good morning," she said tenderly.

He may not smile very much to other people, and he didn't like smiling much either, but he liked the fact that his wife could put one on him as easily as drawing a stick figure. He turned around and kissed her forehead.

"Good morning, Mrs. Fei," he replied, and then he paused. Fei Huangjin carefully chose his next words. He had to tell her about Guan Ting's report just now. "I have something to talk to you about."

It was three hours later when Guan Ting called him back for an update.

When Fei Huangjin talked to Ying Yue about what he'd learned, he thought she would storm Juyan as soon as possible. But unexpectedly, she was quiet, barely saying anything since then.

Guan Ting's hair was a mess from the countless times he's pulled at it today. The tech team from the Dragon Club were at a dead end. They couldn't reach the man he was in contact with anymore. "Boss, I can't reach him. The e-mail he used had already been deactivated."

"Didn't I tell you to find his phone number and to get back to me in an hour?" Fei Huangjin's furious voice boomed over the phone, and like an invisible knife, it seemed to slash at the person's throat.

"Boss--sir," Guan Ting sighed. "He's cut off contact with us. In his e-mail this morning, he said he wanted to retire peacefully, and that he didn't want to be involved again in affairs of the syndicate.

"Guan Ting!" Fei Huangjin bellowed.

"Sir!"

The CEO and master of the Dragon Club rubbed his chin in gravid exasperation as he pondered on his next move. His father had instilled on everyone that once they were a member of the Dragon Club, they were a member for life. As someone who stood close to Fei Yangcheng years ago, he didn't believe that this old man would refuse him if he showed up at his house in person.
