Fei Huangjin called her phone again. And again. But each time, it would simply ring incessantly before dying out, which mean that either she was preoccupied, or she wasn't paying attention to her phone.
Damn it. Was she not even bothered by the fact that they hadn't communicated for almost a week now?
"Boss, we're nearing the city. I'll book us tickets back right away." Guan Ting toyed with the straps of his backpack before yelling to the driver up front. "Sir, you can drop us at the hotel at the city center."
The easygoing man who allowed them to hitch a ride stuck out his thumb to signal that it was okay, and the truck that they were riding entered the city proper not long after. Soon, the sight of billboards and skyscrapers filled their eyes -- the blinding lights seeming almost foreign from their time in the mountains.
Fei Huangjin decided to call one of his men tailing Ying Yue, and fortunately, he answered right away. He hadn't even begun to say hello before Fei Huangjin spoke up ahead of him. "Where's my wife?"
The man glanced at the car they were tailing where Ying Yue was. He could feel the chilling tone of their master from across the ocean. "She's on the way home, sir."
"Don't let her out of your sight."
"Yes, sir."
"Make sure she doesn't go to Juyan before I get back."
"Yes, sir."
"And if she sneaks out without you knowing, I'll burn all of you alive."
"Uh-- Yes, sir!"

"Happy?" Xi Shenghui glanced at Ying Yue's calm, happy face as he slowed to a stop in front of Fei Huangjin's house in the Majestic Gardens. Since he'd known her, she had hardly ever given him a genuine smile. But tonight, she'd been grinning from ear to ear during the entire drive to her home.
Ying Yue giggled and patted his shoulder. "Mark this day for me, would you? Tonight was wonderful." She had a faraway look on her face right now, like she was reminiscing the earlier events that occurred during dinner.
Suddenly, there was a beeping sound that filled the car, and Xi Shenghui took a glance at his smart watch, reading an incoming message from Juyan. He was being paged by Big Boss, requiring him to get to Juyan with utmost urgency.
Ying Yue noted the change from Xi Shenghui's usual expressionless face to one of alarm. "What's wrong?" She asked.
Xi Shenghui turned to her with a worried look and started to usher her out of the car. "Go in and lock the doors to your house. I have to run to Juyan right now. There seems to be an emergency there."
"An emergency?" Ying Yue frowned. What kind of emergency could Juyan have at this time of the night? Did another agent have their identity compromised, too? She slid out of the car and leaned over to say goodbye to Xi Shenghui. However, the man seemed to be in too much of a hurry, and he pulled the door to her side closed before speeding off.
That was weird, she thought.
She glanced around the house and saw the two cars belonging to the men from Dragon Club. She waved at them cheekily and got inside.
She hummed as she showered and hummed as she changed to her pajamas. After all, she was in a good mood. But eventually, the emergency that Xi Shenghui spoke of kinda got to her, and she rummaged her purse to look for her mobile device so she could ask Big Boss or Mo Yiling about it.
When she opened her phone, however, she was surprised to find that there were tons of missed calls from Fei Huangjin. In fact, there were ten calls in the past hour. "Sh*t," she exclaimed. He must have gone livid when she didn't answer.
She was about to call him back, but then at that moment, the lights inside the house all went off, immersing the master's bedroom in pitch-black darkness, with only the light from her phone emitting like a lone star on an empty night sky.
Ying Yue stilled, and she felt tingles at the back of her hand, like she always did when something was about to go wrong.
She quietly padded over to the window, standing behind the adjacent wall and peeking just a little through the curtains. The neighboring house some distance away still had their lights on -- which meant that this wasn't the usual neighborhood black out. Additionally, the outside was eerily quiet.
