Is he not a nuisance

Fei Huangjin listened to her breaths slowly start to even out, until the only sounds in the room he was aware of was Ying Yue's inhales and exhales. He turned to watch her sleep, and noticed the tension lines on her forehead even as she was deep in slumber. He frowned. More than anything else, he wanted to take her worries away.

He thought about it for a moment before a worn-out sigh escaped his lips. "Guan Ting." His voice wasn't loud enough to wake her, but neither was it a whisper.

The door opened quietly, and Guan Ting stood there with his back straight. "You called, sir?" He'd always been trained to be attentive to Fei Huangjin, and his hearing was very sensitive, so much that it could pick up his master's and his wife's voices from inside the room.

Fei Huangjin nodded, and Guan Ting approached his side.

"There's a patient with the name Xi Shenghui in this hospital." He said quietly. "Let the hospital know he's one of our men, and that updates on his condition should be sent to Ying Yue. Make sure he gets the best treatment here."

Guan Ting's eyes briefly flitted to the woman's sleeping form beside Fei Huangjin. Wasn't the boss upset with her attention towards another man? Sometimes, he really couldn't understand this guy's thinking. If it was up to him, he'd squash any male bug that dared to pose a risk to him. He hesitated before saying, "Are you sure you don't want me to eliminate him?"

Fei Huangjin gave him a look as if to say, 'why would I?'

"Is he not a nuisance? You always used to eliminate nuisances." Guan Ting pointed out.

That was true. But this was different. "If I take him out, will that not put me in my wife's bad side? Do you want her to abhor me? Guan Ting, you have much to learn in this game of love. No wonder you haven't had a girlfriend yet."

The other man didn't know if he should laugh or cry. Who's fault was it that he didn't have time to date? It was Fei Huangjin's, of course. If the man didn't work him to the bones, he might have found a woman to settle down with by now! Guan Ting's lips thinned in exasperation. "Anything else, boss?"

"Mmm." Fei Huangjin pursed his lips. "Fix the house. Replace everything that was damaged."

When Ying Yue woke up, it was already late afternoon, and because the curtains were open, the sun cast a fierce, orange glow inside the room. She stretched her arms a little and bumped against Fei Huangjin, who was wide-awake and watching her intently.

"Huangjin!"

"Mmm." Why did she sound so surprised? He pointed at his mouth and puckered his lips. "Where's my good morning kiss?"

One of Ying Yue's eyebrows lifted. "It's already afternoon."

"Then give me an afternoon kiss." He insisted.

He sounded so silly that Ying Yue couldn't help giggling. The fresh memories of grief and loss were pushed to a far corner in her mind, and replaced with Fei Huangjin's tenderness. She didn't know when he started to affect her like this, but it wasn't like she minded either.

Before she could decide whether to kiss him or not, his lips were brought down to hers, moving in fiery but gentle nips and licks. Ying Yue's face started to get hot, and her thoughts all became muddled as her hands ran through his hair.

No nighttime activities…

Ying Yue gasped and pulled back, leaving Fei Huangjin alarmed at the sudden movement.

"Is something wrong?" His eyes were still glazed over, and his lips were glistening with moisture. The orange rays of light through the glass windows cast half his face with shadow and half with light. It made him look like something out of a fairytale book.

She cleared her throat and looked away. Staring at him too long was too tempting… "The doctor said we can't do… activities, unless I want your condition to get worse."

Fei Huangjin's eyes dimmed. "He said what?"

"No 'activities' for the next couple of weeks." She blushed.

"Weeks, you say?!" His jaw hung and a look of disbelief crossed his face as he watched Ying Yue nod with an amused grin. He hadn't even made love to his wife since he'd left the country and now he'd have to delay it even more? Where was that f*cking doctor? Perhaps he should kick him out of the hospital, seeing as the Fei family was a major shareholder here.

Meanwhile, outside the door, Guan Ting's ears were already about to burst and he heaved a sigh of relief. He should personally thank the doctor for that advice, otherwise, he'd be hearing moans throughout the night, and that would be pure torture for a single man like him.
