Wanna bet?

Zhang Zihan chuckled at the view he was seeing from the second floor. Fei Huangjin had lost sight of his wife, who had exited the club a short while ago, and now he had called on the manager to berate him, no less.

"He looks like someone who wants to bankrupt the club," Xiao Yifeng said nonchalantly, his eyes also on Huangjin. The women beside him poured his drink and offered it to him, which he took willingly. "Do you think Secretary Ying-- sorry, Ying Yue -- would forgive him anytime soon?"

A smile played on Zhang Zihan's lips as he thought about it for a moment. "Wanna bet?"

Interested, Xiao Yifeng pursed his lips and nodded. "What are you betting on, and what do you want if you win?" They both weren't strangers to betting. They often bet on random things and gave up their money, sometimes their custom watches, and rarely some property they could afford to let go of. They had too much money on their hands, anyway.

"I bet they'll make up by tomorrow. And I want your custom Range Rover if I win." He grinned.

"Just my Range Rover? I can even offer you my new Porsche." Xiao Yifeng taunted.

Zhang Zihan only cocked his head to one side. He was fairly confident about this one, which was why he asked for one of Yifeng's midrange cars, but since the man had offered him differently, he wasn't one to shy away from a more expensive one. "Your Porsche then." He smirked. "I can't wait to drive it."

"I bet it'll take them at least three days to make up." Since he'd taken the bait, Yifeng then offered up his own. "If I win, I want one of your new robots. And I want it to look, talk, and feel like a female."

The other man paused, confused, before he cringed. He was unable to conceal his panic at Yifeng's demands. "Hell no! I haven't even released it to the market!" Yifeng's last statement then sunk in at that moment, and he looked at him with alarm. "Female? You--"

Xiao Yifeng put a finger against his lips. His eyes flitted about, implying that there were people around them. They'd been friends for so long that their subtle actions spoke loud to each other.

"Hey, all of you, go down for a moment." Zhang Zihan went over to sit beside Xiao Yifeng as the ladies exited the booth. If what he was thinking was right, no one else should know about this one outside of the both of them -- and Huangjin, of course. You couldn't hide something from that man. "You want my marry my robot to please your grandfather? Are you f*cking insane? You can just pay a woman to marry you, or marry your secretary like Huangjin did."

An ugly look crossed Xiao Yifeng's face. "My secretary is male," he said pointedly.

"No, Yifeng. Hell no. Ahhh sh*t, I should never have told you guys about my artificial intelligence project."

"Worried I'll win this bet?" Xiao Yifeng raised a brow.

Zhang Zihan's lips thinned. He wanted to help the man with his current situation, of course. But to be involved in a dangerous scheme like this… even though his prototypes at the lab were already as human-like as possible, if the plan fails, he'd be the first one to down the drain.

"Okay, I'll take the bet. Let's shake hands on it."

Fei Huangjin had probably broken most of the traffic rules in the city when he almost flew from the club to their home in Majestic Gardens. But when he arrived, the house was dark, unlit -- almost like it was empty.

No. She must have come home, right? His heart almost stopped as he stepped out and got inside.

"Ying Yue?" He called out. His voice was laced with panic and worry as it echoed in the halls of his house. "Ying Yue? Where are you?" He jogged up the stairs and opened the door to the master's bedroom with a bang.

The sheets were neat and kept. She hadn't gone home, after all.

"F*ck!" Fei Huangjin ran a hand through his hair, messing it up slightly. It was a bad habit of his whenever he was tired or worried. And ever since he'd married Ying Yue, he'd been doing that more times than he could count.
