I got here first

Zhang Zihan's eyebrows perked up, surprised. "I'm usually the one calling you first. What's up, Yifeng?"

"Are you in your laboratory?"

He glanced at the circuit he was working on at the table and rolled his chair backwards. "Yeah, why?"

Xiao Yifeng grinned. "You better get that robot ready."

Huh?

"What do you mean? Stop kidding me--" Zhang Zihan paused. He was instantly reminded about their deal. The one they made at VX. He had bet on Fei Huangjin and Ying Yue making up the next day, while Yifeng had bet on three days or more. And Yifeng had asked for a female robot from his artificial intelligence project. He frowned. Were Huangjin and his wife still fighting? That was impossible. "They haven't made up?"

A chuckle could be heard over the phone. "I heard Miss Ying got even angrier at him this morning."

Zhang Zihan checked his watch. It was still a little past four in the afternoon. "The day hasn't ended yet, Yifeng." He still had time. And he'd use that to teach Fei Huangjin how to apologize to a woman! That damn bastard, how could he make the situation with his wife even worse? He didn't want to give away his first female robot to Xiao Yifeng, even if it was for a good cause. That robot was his masterpiece!

"Mmm." Xiao Yifeng grinned wider. "We'll see. I'll call again in three days to ask for my robot."

Click.

Zhang Zihan stood up from his chair abruptly, picking up his jacket on the way out. He couldn't have Fei Huangjin suffer without his wife for three days, could he? And he damn well couldn't allow Xiao Yifeng to marry his robot either!

Fei Huangjin breathed out, a bouquet of forget-me-not flowers on one hand. It was Zhang Zihan who got this for him. And although he was already hesitant to follow others' advice after the whole fiasco this morning, Zihan had kindly reminded him of the fact that he was the ladies' expert among the three of them, and that Guan Ting didn't even have any sort of experience.

He shook his head silently. He shouldn't have listened to that idiot this morning.

Now what was it that Zhang Zihan said he should do? Oh yes, apologize sincerely and ask her what he could do to make it up to her. No pushing, and no demanding.

He pursed his lips in silence and prepared himself to knock on her office door.

"Good afternoon, CEO Fei." A man came up behind him, glancing at the flowers with raised eyebrows.

Fei Huangjin frowned back at him. Wasn't this that guy who worked at Fei International to guard his wife? The one who did a bad job at guarding her that led to the incident with Wang Longwei? Moreover, this was that guy whose hospital bills he paid.

"Are you going in?" Xi Shenghui saw the hesitation and indifference in the other man's eyes and became slightly impatient. "Because if you're not, I'm gonna have to go ahead of you to talk to her about work." He raised the stack of folders in his arms.

This put Fei Huangjjn in a state of alarm. "I got here first," he growled.

Xi Shenghui shrugged. Wasn't that why he asked if he was going in? "I suggest you hurry up then, CEO Fei."

Fei Huangjin narrowed his eyes at him. He didn't bother hiding his dislike for him. And with a huff, he knocked at the door and opened it when he heard Ying Yue's voice.

He slipped inside. Ying Yue was on her desk, studying some document on her desk. Her eyebrows were furrowed and her eyes were narrowed as she concentrated on it. Fei Huangjin cleared his throat, making her look up.

She didn't look surprised to see him. Her eyes only briefly flitted to the flowers he was holding before she returned to working.

That… was not the reaction he was expecting.

Zhang Zihan's words rang in his ears. No pulling, or demanding. Just ask her sincerely.

Fei Huangjin drifted closer to her desk and placed the flowers on an empty spot on the corner. "These are for you," he said quietly. "I'm sorry. Please forgive me. I promise to be a better man and an even better husband."
