You may call me shadow fox

Although the box of cream puffs she'd bought for herself were wasted, the other boxes seemed to be fine, and Ying Yue asked some of the Juyan staff to distribute the goods to the various teams and departments.

"Boss-- uh, madam, thanks!"

She smiled at one of the maintenance staff and nodded. The whole building was buzzing with energy since everyone had received their share of treats, and now everyone who passed her by no longer ducked in worry. They all passed her with a smile.

Her mind then drifted to Fei Huangjin. Was she too harsh this morning?

She shook her head. No, he deserved it. Who knows what else he'd be hiding from her in the future if she didn't make it a point to teach him a lesson about it?

"Miss-- ma'am! Uh, I mean--"

One of the technical team staff hurried after her, sweat lining his brow. He was small and thin, with thick-rimmed glasses and an awkward smile. Seeing that, like a lot of the other staff, he was confused with what to call her, Ying Yue decided to settle that issue once and for all. "You may call me shadow fox. It's only fitting since Big Boss gave me that name, and it helps my identity seem less awkward."

He blinked. "Oh… Ah, yes, shadow fox. Well, uh… we've got an issue in the technical department that we need you on. Mr. Xi said only you would know what to do."

"Okay then," she nodded. Back then, the staff had also gone to Big Boss for any problems whatsoever, and he always seemed to know what to do. Now it was her turn. That realization weighed heavily on her. "What's this about?"

The two of them started walking to the direction of the tech room, and the conversation about work drifted seamlessly, wrapping Ying Yue's head in it, making her completely forget about the cream puff incident, and the man involved in it, too.

In contrast to the peaceful and happy atmosphere in Juyan, the Fei International building was tense and in turmoil. News of the boss's current mood had reached all over the place, and everyone was pressured to work twice harder lest they want to end up with a few weeks' worth of overtime.

"Redo the entire thing. I don't like it." Fei Huangjin stood up and walked out of the meeting with the planning department. His secretary followed him with an exasperated look on his face.

"CEO Fei, if you ask them to renew the entire thing, it'll delay the--"

Fei Huangjin stopped in his tracks, causing Shen Chuyi to almost collide with his back. He turned around to stare down at his secretary with those piercing, jet black eyes of his. "Are you telling me my decisions are wrong?"

"No-- no, sir."

Fei Huangjin continued on his way to his office. "You'll be working overtime with them tonight, Shen Chuyi-- since you care a lot about the planning department…"

His secretary's mouth dropped.

The company group chat was in a buzz again, since that was the only outlet to everyone's frustrations.

"The boss passed by the accounting department and berated the manager for one tiny typo on the financial reports!"

"He made us redo our plans!"

"He's been ignoring everyone's greetings."

"What's up with him?"

"He was so much better when Secretary Ying was still around."

"Maybe Secretary Ying left him for that bad personality of his."

"Maybe she left because he's got a small ****"

Xi Shenghui, who wasn't removed from the company group chat yet despite his resignation, almost choked on his drinking water as he read the recent messages piling up. His brows twitched and he shook his head back and forth a few times. He should seriously consider removing himself from it.

"CEO Zhang, there's a phone call for you."

Zhang Zihan flipped up his placed down the soldering iron he was holding and grimaced. He was in the middle of working in his laboratory and normally wouldn't want to be disturbed. But since his assistant made it a point to hand over the phone, then the caller was either his own father, Xiao Yifeng, or Fei Huangjin. He wondered who it was this time.

He accepted the phone and flipped up his magnifier. "Zhang Zihan speaking."

"It's me."
