Chapter 24

Hi guys SPECTER-KUN here... I'm back and here with a new chapter. Hope you are safe and healthy at your own homes. Nothing much more to say but hope you like this new chapter.

( Suzuki POV )
The cave, which we were using as our hideout for the past two years, was shaking violently due to the attacks of the Kumo military. The entrance of our hideout was concealed by a genjutsu and was locked by a level 5 seal.
But that was not enough infront of the onslaught the Kumo was bringing.
We have just a few minutes, to escape. There was an escape tunnel we dug, which would lead us ten miles away from the Kumo village.
I took the scroll, which contained all the information we all have gathered for the past two years. I ran to a wall, removing the stones that hid our escape tunnel.
I waited as one by one, my comrades were entering the tunnel. Only two were left, my wife and our squad leader. My wife entered the tunnel, but at that moment, our entrance exploded and the Kumo ninjas were entering our hideout. Looks like my time has come.
I was about to use the burning ash jutsu, but our squad leader, pushed me inside the tunnel.
I looked at our leader, "What the Hell are you doing !!!? They're going to kill you!"
He just smiled at me, "I don't want your son to be fatherless. So better get back alive ok."
"You don't decide what I should do!"
But I felt a strong tug on my hand, it was from my wife, she had a very sad look. Why? Why should it be like this ?
"I won't forget this!!!" I shouted at our leader. I know he is going to die... but I won't let his death be in vain ! The Kumo will pay tenfold for this !
Me and my wife ran like there was no tomorrow.
"FIRE STYLE : BURST INFERNO !!! "
That was leader's jutsu. It was an wide area fire jutsu. But I doubt that would keep them at bay.
Not moments later, we heard a scream of death... we already know who it belonged to... there is no saving him... we have to move forward and make sure that his death will not be in vain.
We just ran and ran and ran and ran... The tunnel was a very long one, it was ten miles or so. It was narrow so movements was restricted.
After running a few miles, we rest for a short moment then we ran again.
We reached the exit! we can also see the rest of our squad, waiting for us.
"Hey ! Suzuki where is our leader?"
I didn't reply to that question. My squad mates took my silence and deduced the answer. They lowered their face on realising that their leader was dead.
But we we quickly recovered from the tragic news and continued with escaping from the Kumo.
After an hour of running, we were exhausted from running and rested for a while. The only thing left for us to do now is to cross the rocky valley that was ahead of us. After crossing that, the Kumo military cannot touch us anymore, I can already picturing myself and my wife back at Konoha the wonderful days with my son doing stuff a father should be doing. It's time with retire from this Ninja stuff, I got more important stuff to do with my family. But it's seemed like fate was very cruel to me.
"THERE THEY ARE ! CAPTURE THEM !" A loud shout was heard behind us, the Kumo ninjas were catching up really fast, so we immediately got up and just kept running. Kunais and shirukens were thrown at us, but suddenly as if time slowed itself, I saw a kunai flying past me and on it was an explosive tag. The Kunai embedded itself at the walls ahead of us.

I feel so numb, my ears were ringing due to the loud blast from the explosive tag. I was lying face first to the rocky ground. I looked around, I saw a horrible sight, my squad mates were crushed to death by the rock which fell upon us during the explosion. I looked for my wife, hoping that no harm was on her.
I released a sigh of relief when I saw my wife was in good condition, a few scratches but she'll live.
She moaned in pain as she got up.
"Y-You all right? " I asked my voice seemed Pretty weak.
She turned to me, as she saw me, he eyes were opened, horror was etched on her face as she covered her mouth with her hands as to avoid screaming.
"D-Dear? Y-You... Your..." she said pointing at me.
I curiously looked behind me and I saw that my lower half, from my waist was completely crushed by a large boulder. Well i'll be damned... it was too much for me, I don't think I could even screamed in pain.
"Quickly search them! make sure no one is left alive!" Looks like Kumo is not giving up on killing us.
My death was certain now, but my wife was not happy with that. She desperately tried to move the boulder from my crushed body. But, it won't budge an inch and I doubt it even would.
" Don't worry I'll get you out of here!" she said to me with tears on her eyes. " Then we will go home alright, we will be with our son we will live happily ever after alright! you hear me so don't give up! "
I stretched my hand to stroke her face, "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry-" I coughed blood.
" No, no, no please no don't do this to me! please."
" I'm sorry but... " I took out the scroll that contained all the evil deeds Kumo had done for the past years. " Take this as and give it to the Hokage. The world must know about this and you are the only one who could do this. Now geao."
" Please no, I can't, I can't !"
"JUST GO !" I yelled at her, which shocked her. "Just go." I said softly, tears were forming. " Just go ok."
Hikari wiped the tears from her eyes, slowly she move away from me then I saw her no more.
"Sir there is one survivor here! " I heard someone shouting. Moments later, a group of Kumo ninjas gathered round me.
" One spy has escaped sir."
"We can still intercept her by the river."
The ninja's eyes then landed on me.
"You sure can run you Konoha scum!"
" Thanks for the compliment." I gave them a mocking grin.
"Why you little! Captain I request that I execute him right now! "
"Permission granted."
The guy whom I just mocked, came infront of me, with a Katana at hand. He raised the blade, over his head. " You can die at ease you scum. But when I find that wife of yours, I make sure she suffers, oh! and she will like it. Hope she can handle me, I wonder what she taste like. I have watched your group for the past months and damn ! you wife is a fine woman. I'll break her down completely... Hehehe... She won't remember your name by the time I'm through with her."
I felt anger brewing inside me. This piece of shit must die, all them must die. Suddenly, I formed a hand seal and performed a Ninjutsu my brother taught me and this will send all of these scums to hell.
" Fire style: Burning ash jutsu!" Summoning whatever chakra I had left in me, I released a tsunami of black foggy ash at the Kumo ninjas. They all took a step back protecting themselves for what is to come. But I coughed out blood.
"Huh? that's it? and I thought that this Conner animal was going to bare his fangs at us! What a shame."
I smirked at their stupidity, they should have left this area. The ash had spread far enough to kill each and everyone of them.
"What are you smiling at?"
What fools they are.
" Never underestimate a cornered animal...fool. Now...YOU DIE!"
I ignited the ash by striking my two metal implanted canines creating a spark and began the deadly reaction of death. The fire burned every one to ashes, that also includes me as well.
Now as my body turns to ash, I just have one selfish wish that I want to fulfill. That is to hear my son's voice one last time.
But that will never come true...
