"Yamada Yuri... You've had this long and yet you haven't recruited even 20 people? That's fine but we need more new recruits" said a voice from the darkness.
"Y-yes boss... Sorry boss I'll work harder in the future for the benefit of the Yamazaki family" a young man's voice pleaded with death.
Yamada Yuri was a small-time recruiter of the Yamazaki gang, a small gang in the crime-ridden districts of Tokyo.
Due to Kira's return, recruiting new members in the gang had been extremely hard as of late. In fact, Yamada had only recruited just 5 people in the last two months. This could be considered very small when the Yamazaki family was losing members all over the place. They lost members when people left the gang, were killed by Kira and when involving themselves in dangerous gang activities.
"I don't personally think that's very fair on me. Maybe punishment is needed to help teach you the importance of new members." the voice said from the darkness once again.
Right as Yamada was about to speak he heard the tapping sound of footsteps. From the darkness came a European man with pale white skin and blonde slicked back hair. He looked like what you'd expect someone from a European gang to look like but instead had the tattoos of a Yakuza member.
Indeed this man was one of the families head enforcers. This could be attributed to many things, some of which included his extreme personality and sadistic use of torture against his enemies. This was a man even feared amongst even the larger Yakuza families in Japan.
Yamada began to cry as the ripper walked towards him. He managed to get this nickname due to the way in which he left his victims with their rib cage sticking out from their own backs like in a horror movie.
"P-please, I-I promise I'll do b-better in the future!" Yamada screamed in absolute terror. This was surely the end for him and so his tears rolled down his cheeks.
As the ripper inched close to Yamada he began to laugh calmly. "Hahaha, oh my God. You should have seen your own face. Come on get up and get out of here."
To Yamada's surprise, the ripper was telling him that he could leave without being harmed. "Thank you so much sir, I won't disappoint."
Yamada ran out from the room, his heart still pounding so hard it hurt.
'Holy fuck, how was I not killed by that psycho, ' is what Yamada thought.
...
Yamada was currently on his way to a nearby recruiting area for gangs. People would often hang around the area and recruiters could easily tell who was looking for recruitment simply by how they looked.
Yamada couldn't wait for even a second in case the ripper changed his mind and come after him. There was no way to escape the Yakuza since he would be hunted down as well. Therefore complying with them was the only option.
Yamada finally reached his destination and saw many thugs. This was surprisingly more than usual. With Kira around the majority of these thugs had decided that living a normal life would be better than death.
Yamada walked up to a group of thugs. Well, they looked more like high school bullies. Nevertheless, he put his arm on one's shoulder.
"Hey hey kids, you know this is a dangerous spot, right?" Yamada asked, using the best gangster voice he could muster.
"Huh? Yeah, what's it to you huh?" replied a young man who looked to be the group's leader.
Yamada smiled and continued, "I see haha. You wouldn't be looking for employment would ya?"
"Why? Ya lookin for someone to employ?" asked another high schooler.
"Haha yes, I am actually. Here take this and meet me at the Yamato docks tonight." Yamada handed the leader of the group a card with the letters KC written in cursive.
"Hehe, come on boys," the leader said as he took the card and left with his friends.
This was good. It was still only early morning and he had already managed to recruit 4 new members. Even if they were only high schoolers, they could still get the job done.
Next, he eyed a larger group. This time they appeared to be older, but still youngsters. They looked to be around 20 and older, none over the age of 26. They all seemed to be hardened men who could put up a pretty good fight.
The men stared back at Yamada while he walked closer to them. Pushing his chest out he decided to try recruiting them. If he could get these men on his side it would be extremely good for him. Fighters were valued highly in the Yamazaki Family since they were still very small.
'Here we go I guess, ' Yamada thought as he swallowed all his fear and turned himself into a hardened criminal.
Today would certainly be a plentiful day.

In order to see the names and life spans of humans by using the eye power of the god of death, the owner must look at more than half of that person's face. When looking from top to bottom, he must look at least from the head to the nose. If he looks at only the eyes and under, he will not be able to see the person's name and life span. Also, even though some parts of the face, for example, the eyes, nose or mouth are hidden, if he can basically see the whole face, he will be able to see the person's name and life span. It is still not clear how much exposure is needed to tell a person's name and life span, as this needs to be verified.
