Mates

Arriving back at camp, she saw Cayden looking exactly where they had been.

"Did y'all get any fish while you were getting water?"

"Yes we caught three. It won't be enough to fill us up, but it will do for tonight. Tomorrow we can go and hunt some deer." Asher replied.

Karma felt nauseous, she felt a strange sense of comfort in it though. "Im going to go for a run, I will be back."

As Karma got out of sight, she undressed and morphed. Instead if her morphing to her normal wolf, she morphed straight into her advanced form. 'Thats weird' she though to herself. She could no longer feel her normal wolf. 'Asher, why can't I feel my normal wolf?' She though.

Asher ran to where she was. 'Your eighteen! I thought your birthday was tomorrow?!'

'So... did I.' She said. She didn't look at him, nervous to know if he was truly her mate.

'What is wrong?' Cane Cayden's voice in a panic as he broke through the tree line to them.

'Im not sure.' She looked him in the eyes but felt nothing. Turning her eyes to Asher, her heart felt like it stopped beating, or was beating so fast she couldn't feel it. Her head got a dizziness feel, but felt that it was still at the same time. There was so much noise yet none at all. All she could hear was Asher's heart beat and his breath. Asher's felt everything she felt as they locked eyes.

Looking away from him, Karma took of in a gallop. 'No. Why me? Why did they have to be brothers?' She thought to herself. This would complicate things for her.

Her long fur was glued to her body as she ran. She didn't know how far she had ran, just that she'd been running what felt like hours. She had probably covered at least a thousand miles. She didn't even know if she was still in River Forest. She didn't care either way, she just wanted to get away.

Even though thats not who she normally is, it was nice to run like that. She had never felt the adrenaline rush and clear mindedness she felt just then. She sat in a clearing, in her human form. She dug at the dirt and listened to the sound of birds chirping. She didn't think about anything, her mind was clear. This was a first, normally she had ten million things going on.

She took a deep breath and laid back, looking at the clouds passing. She drifted to sleep. She jolted away when she heard Asher and Cayden yelling for her. She noticed that stars replaced the clouds, and the moon replaced the sun. She was shivering from the fall's coolness. She morphed to warm herself up. She walked over to where they were.

Both were in their human forms, but Asher stood a few heads taller than Cayden. She tried to avoid Asher's eyes, but it felt like they called to her.

'Sorry, I fell asleep.' She thought looking at the ground. 'I didn't mean to stay out so late.'

'Your eighteen, you have that right. We just started getting worried.' Cayden said.

She felt a pang of guilt at the mention if her age. 'Yeah.' She walked passed them and trotted back to their camp.

'So, did you find you mate?' Cayden asked.

Her breath caught. 'No.' She thought simply. She didn't want to hurt either of them, and she felt the pain her answer brought Asher. 'Im sorry.' She thought to herself.

When they got back to camp there was one fish left, but Karma walked past it, even tho her body was aching for food. She told herself she wasn't hungry, and that they would get more food tomorrow.

She curled herself into a ball and just laid there. She felt Asher's curiosity, and she knew he felt her pain, confusion, and frustration.

She didn't know what to do, so she laid there all night thinking. Cayden was asleep, and Asher sat looking at her. He was getting more and more restless and desperate for her to be happy. He got up and curled up next to her. 'Can we talk?'

She didn't answer for a few minutes, 'I'd rather not.' She finally thought.

'Karma-' he stopped and remained quiet.

She thought he had fallen asleep a few minutes later, so she morphed. She let the tears of frustration and confusion roll down her cheeks, as she sat there. Remaining quiet, and muffling her sobs.

She felt Asher's head lay on her shoulder. 'I'm sorry its this way.' He thought softly. She turned to him and hid her face in his fur.

"I don't know what to do." She cried.
