Unexpected

The impact waved through her body and she let out a grunt. She rest there a little while before picking herself up. She hung her head down in embarrassment.

"Where are you?" She looked at Asher confused. "Where are you mentally?"

She didn't know, but she knew it wasn't in reality.

His wolf smirked. "Are you still in last nights world?" Her wolf blushed and Asher let out a huge, rumbling laugh. "We can go back there." Asher licked her muzzle.

She was tired of his teasing, "Thought you wanted to get to the north pack as soon as possible? But, if you'd prefer to explore elsewhere..." she paused and looked at his face, "be my guest." She finished, smirking herself.

She saw his wolf stumble trying to find the right response. "Touché." He finally said.

She smiled to herself then took off leaving him two wolf lengths behind. She looked back in time to see him jumping for her. She slammed into a tree dodging him. He pounced but she rolled out from under him before he had a chance to land.

She got to her paws and dashed once again. He let out a growl along with a laugh. He disappeared into the trees. She didn't stop running, but she heightened her hearing so she could hear him.

He pounced this time landing on her back. His claws lightly dug into her back, she let out a whimper, causing him to stop. She smiled a big, toothy grin and continued running.

He brought up all the speed he had and was able to catch up. She took a sharp right turn and disappeared. He stopped, listened, and watched.

She howled as she pounced onto his back, lightly biting his neck. She bit down a little harder and lightly tossed him. He sat down with his head down towards the ground, she sensed his amusement and let out a menacing growl.

She howled in victory as he lay close to the ground. She looked back down but he was gone. She looked around frantically. But there was no movement, no sound, and a new smell.

There was a new pack smell she knew, but was very hazed. The alpha pack. Her head shot up frantically as she followed it. 'This can't be happening!' She yelled to herself.

After recently finding out about what she was, she remembered that the alpha pack was the ones that pushed her pack out of existence.

She wasn't as focused on her mate anymore, but more focused on getting revenge for her pack. She howled in search for him, but all that came back was a broken, desperate howl. She was using a lot of energy, quickly. She ran what seemed like hours, until something rammed into her side causing her to slam into a tree. The light of the moon faded until all went dark.

There was no sound, no light, and no noise in this new place, and suddenly she saw a wolf. They were in the same place. The wolf's fur glowed like a shining light, she felt no wind, but the fur blew. The wolf looked elegant and she was captivated. She started to walk towards the wolf, but it changed its elegant pose to a hostile one. She backed up, the wolf followed. When she stopped the wolf stopped. "Hello?"

"Hello." The wolf mimicked her with a bark, which sounded like her own bark.

Karma brought her hand up and the wolf did the same. She realized she wasn't dreaming, seeing things, or dead, she was actually speaking to her wolf. She had heard that only in desperation does your wolf appear to you. But, why would hers at a time like now? Nothing felt wrong, yet it did at the same time.

She wanted to say something, but couldn't find the right words. She starred, her mind racing to find the wording she wanted. "Why am I..." 'No that wasn't right.' She thought to herself. "What is..." "where am..." she was getting frustrated. She knew what she wanted to ask, but not how to ask it.

"You know the answer to the questions you were about to ask." The wolf pointed out to her. She nodded. "What is it you truly want to ask?"

Karma starred, trying to figure out the answer to her question. "I have once heard that you only speak to your wolf in desperate times..." she paused, "is that why I am here? Is it because they have my mate?"

"Your brain focuses on others but not you."

That confused Karma. "What do you mean?" The wolf walked closer.

"Dear, the reason you are here is not because of Asher, it is because the alpha pack has you."
