Wishing Upon Death

Karma's brain raced to catch up. "Me? They have me?"

"Yes dear."

Karma started pacing, her wolf following. Back and forth, back and forth, bath and forth. She just continued.

"How do i snap out of this? I need to fight!"

"Don't get ahead of yourself! You aren't strong enough right now, that would be a suicide mission!"

"Ugh!!" Karma screamed in frustration. "How am i supposed to do this then?"

"Dear, please calm down. I can't tell you that, I can only relay a message from Fate, 'A loved one's touch is more powerful than you think.'"

"A loved one's touch?"

The wolf nodded. "That is correct deary."

Karma paced. "When will I-"

Karma opened her eyes. She was in a dark room, her back was sore, and her head was spinning. She gasped her air, but the room was so pungent it made her choke.

Her eyes started to adapt as she grabbed at her throat, only to not be able to move her arms. Her arms were chained to either side of the wall. They were so tight there was no moving them.

She tried to move her feet but couldn't, they too her chained to a wall. She screamed in frustration.

"Tell the alpha shes awake."

Her heart started to race. Her head pounded with her heart. She felt like she could vomit.

She could hear whimpers of other wolves, foot steps of the guards, but one sound sounded familiar. The sound of tears hitting the stone floor. It brought her back to days when she would get in trouble and Hailey couldn't save her. The nights she spent on the cold floor, just crying her eyes out until she drifted to sleep. She couldn't believe she was in a similar situation, however, she felt this was much worse.

She had a feeling she wasn't leaving this place without some of her blood being spilled.

The stone door creaked open as a shadow emerged. She tried to back away but the chains dug into her skin. "Thats a wasted effort, dear." The voice sounded familiar.

"Mrs. Lorella?!" The pure shock of the realization knocked her breath away.

"Hello, dear." She said with a grim tone.

Karma's heart paced. She thought she could trust her. She spent two nights there, just sharing information with her! How ridiculous! Karma felt a fool. Too blind to realize what pure stupidity it was to share that much information to someone you had met twice. 'Does that mean she is after the book again?' Karma thought to herself.

"Do you realize how dangerous it is to have TWO Prophecy Wolves living at once?" Lorella asked.

'Definitely NOT after the book.' Karma told herself. She wished this nightmare would be over, but it seemed to last forever.

Lorella's hand went across Karma's face leaving a red mark. "Do I have your attention now?"

Karma didn't respond, she was trying to hard to restrain herself from doing any type of damage she could.

Lorella's hand went on Karma's neck, making air almost impossible to get. Karma tried to break her grip by wiggling out, but it wasn't working. It became harder to move, her wolf was trying to break out, but something was stopping her. Maybe the chains? She didn't know.

Finally Lorella let go. Now, if you don't want to talk then I will just beat answers out of you. Karma let out a growl. She felt a jab in her side, making her wince in pain. Lorella stood up. "Do you know how much easier it will be for you if you just tell me how I need to kill you?"

Karma was confused. 'There's a special way to kill me?!' That would come in handy during battle, but she was sure that Lorella would just beat her until she found it. Karma smirked. "I should have let you die in that fire!" She screamed before mustering up the energy needed to pull the chains loose and shift.

She knocked Lorella off her feet. "Stop her!" She yelled at the guards standing by. They rushed to stop her, fearing for their lives if they didn't, while also fearing for their lives if they did.

Karma's wolf was running through the corridors, turning the sharp corners, and knocking anyone down in her way. But Karma knew her luck would come to an end. She was at a dead end, literally and figuratively. At least a hundred guards stood in the open corridor.

Karma felt a shock go through her body and she collapsed into her human form. Panting at the pain and tiredness surging through her bones. She would welcome death at this moment, but she didn't know how.
