Victorious

Prologue:

"As long as good exists there will be evil." A word of the wise whispered into his ears.

...

"Demon lord Lucifer," a red-skinned devil dressed in a general's attire addressed. "We have surrounded the enemy, the heroes are dead and the neighboring kings have already submitted to you. Once we kill the Holy Kingdom's army, we will have conquered the whole world."

"Good news Bollock, tell me what is your desire."

Upon hearing this question Bollock confused but he managed to answer quickly.

"I want to serve you as long as I live my lord."

Lucifer was pleased, he smiled at him and continued.

"You please me Bollock after the war ends I want you to be my right hand and guard me with your life. At the end of all this only I shall have your loyalty."

"That would make me the happiest."

"Now go and come back with the news of our victory."

"As you command."

After performing the nation's salute Bollock left Lucifer's chambers.

Lucifer looked at the map of the world. Each country was painted with different colors to indicate their borders but now the flag of demon kingdom waved on each of these painted sections.

"Finally the world is mine."

He moved his fingers across the map without losing his smile.

...

Chapter 1:

Lucifer can clearly remember the time when he was summoned into this world. He was summoned inside a cave with many cultists surrounding him. They wanted to make him their slave but failed either due to chanting error or foreign force and instead turned him into a demon.

Lucifer killed every one of them before leaving the stained cave.

Before he was summoned Lucifer was a student, a peculiar student, he would get bullied a lot but never complained however after each semester his bullies somehow mysteriously disappear.

Police would come and investigate but never succeed. However, all the friends of the bullies know Lucifer was behind it. It didn't matter whether they were right or not because the lack of evidence meant that he was innocent.

That was how he got the nickname Lucifer which stuck even after he was transported into a different world.

...

Lucifer took hours to reminiscent about the past but his concentration was disturbed when someone entered his tent.

He was a young man in his late teens who Lucifer recognized by his face but could not place a name on it. The man's panting indicated that he had come running here without any rest at all.

Lucifer saw the panting man and poured him a glass of wine.

The wine was warm and Lucifer hated that taste which was why it didn't lose any amount. One thing was sure, Lucifer chose to pour him a drink not out of consideration but due to his hatred towards waste.

The man looked delighted by his king's actions without knowing the full truth, he gracefully drank the high-quality wine that was only served to kings and his close commands. For his tongue which was accustomed to the taste of diluted ale, this tasted like heaven. He would surely brag about this to his peers.

Once he was finished drinking Lucifer asked him the generic practiced questions, "What is the urgency for your intrusion?"

On his tone, the man realized that even though he was just treated highly he was still in front of a king. Upon his realization, he took his knee down and bowed respectfully before answering.

"Congratulations My Lord, The holy army has fallen. We are currently chasing the remains of them. It is an honor for me to declare that we have won the war."

The silence was deafening and there were no movements at all.

"Yes!" Lucifer exclaimed, his actions were childish and upon realizing he recovered his composure.

The man was surprised as he has seen something out of the ordinary. He had a hard time believing that the person before him was the great demon king. he had heard rumors about the demon king being childish but he disregarded them was false. now that he thinks about it the rumors might be true.

"Excellent," Lucifer said after clearing his throat, "you have done a great service to the Nation."

The man was surprised to hear praise from Lucifer and doubted if Lucifer knew that he was a messenger.

"But my lord I am just a messenger are you sure that you should praise me." He spoke with disappointment.

Upon hearing him say that Lucifer raised his brow and asked, "Are you a foreigner?"

"No my lord. I am a citizen of the Nation."

"Then, there is nothing wrong with me praising you. Never forget, young man war is a national effort and every win belongs to the nation. Not to the king who rules, not the general that brings victory, and nor to the soldiers who fought but a victory belongs to the nation."

He emphasized the word nation over and over again.

"Engrave my words young messenger, peoples live and die but the nation remains, as a citizen our goal is to serve the nation so that our descendants look at it with pride and declare, "My ancestors were one the people who made this nation great." Do you understand?"

Patronized by his words the messenger replied with power,

"Yes, my lord."

Lucifer took a comforting breath and calmed himself.

"No go out and enlighten the rest and tell General Bollock to gather the council and bring them to my chambers, we will be discussing the future of this world."
