Not a dream

If this was a dream it would have made more sense to me, but go figure it's not. Five tries of pinching myself told me enough to know I was not getting out of this one. Either way, I would have to be an idiot not to believe my own eyes even if it defied logic and reasoning at this point.

All that went out the door the moment the stone flashed me to the middle of god knows where.

I looked at the now clothed wolf wondering how to get information without triggering a neon sign on my forehead marking me as crazy.

"First what's your name, and second when exactly did you end up wrapped around me as I slept?" I asked as my eyes narrowed at the guy who invaded my personal space without a girl's consent or knowledge.

He shrugged as he answered. "Names Orpheus. I found you teeth chattering at moon high. Figured the best way to keep you warm was with my body." He said it as a fact but my face turned red with the way the words my body sounded in his deep voice.

Get a hold of yourself Amber, you need answers not to lose yourself in his voice. "How did you find me? The cave is well hidden behind the waterfall. Your chances of just stumbling on it in the dark seem slim."

"I was watching you after you appeared by the water. I thought you looked lost. Figured I wait and see what you do. I didn't know what to think of you and you're strange… clothes." He looked me up and down and I realized how much my outfit was a huge red flag that I was not from here.

"Wait, you've been watching me this whole time?" A shiver ran down my spine. Orpheus was watching me the whole time. If he attacked me and I never would've seen it coming. He simply nodded his head like it was not strange or creepy.

There was no use trying to hide that I am not from here if he saw me appear so strangely. "Where are we exactly and how can you um… the shift I believe you called it?" This got me the strangest look from Orpheus. He didn't seem to know how to go about answering my questions.

After staring at me with his head tilted slightly to the side for five minutes to ten minutes he sighed. "I am not sure how to go about answering your second question since shifting is something we all do from birth." His look said how stupid are you, "As for the first where are in the Ailana Forest. This land is occupied by the Tribe of Light." The way he said tribe of light made him sound proud of it. I have a feeling he's a member or at least wants to be.

"Do they have a village nearby?" I needed to know where to avoid once I got away from this wolf.

Orpheus smiled showing his teeth "You will see soon enough." With that, he scooped me up and threw me over his shoulder. Before I knew it he was running out of the cave and towards the forest.
