Frick Firck

Jason swept his sword back and forth to keep away the zombies that were slowly closing in on him. No matter how many zombies he killed another one appeared behind him. Jason slowly got pushed back to the ditch he made.

Boops had calmed down from his sudden outburst and started to try and help Jason

'Okay Jason jump over the trap that you made to by yourself some time'

Jason complied and jumped over.

Facing zombies was much better than facing the unknown sure zombies were scary, but being trapped and stuck in a dark place with an unknown enemy really got to Jason. And it looks like Boops felt the same when he knew who and what the enemy was he could relax. Wait actually

"hey, Boops don't you have a map? shouldn't you be able to figure out that they were zombies way before they came in?"

'..... frick, I totally forgot about the map'

"Boops"

Boops answered panickily

'wait, wait, wait no, um it was to train you and stuff so that you can be prepared even if I'm offline or something. Yeah, that's right'

"Boops were talking about this later"

'frick'

Jason looked behind him to check on the ever-growing horde of zombies behind him. The horde had stopped at his little ditch barrier. One of the zombies in the front looked at Jason and gave off a roar. The rest of the zombies roared with him and charged. Jason swore in his head and got ready for another round.

The zombies were like a wave, a wave that crashed into a steel wall. Cause no matter how long Jason waited not a single zombie came closer to Jason. Jason got confused and walked closer to the pit which was down the hill. Jason checked the zombie hoard. They were plunging into the pit and getting skewered by the metal spikes. Jason expected a few of them to die from that but he didn't expect that many of them would die from it and Jason would have to fight and most likely die.

But holy crap he now learned that zombies despawn in this mini world and just turn into some glowy dust and then float to the sky. In most zombie movies the zombies would make this giant wall or something to pass over obstacles.

So the zombies would just run into the spikes and despawn leaving room for the next zombie to run and fall into the spike. Jason had enough metal spikes in the pits so that there was no gap and the zombies would have to sacrifice at least one zombie to get through.

Hehe, it now turned into a zombie killing machine. Jason no longer was worried that he might lose his EXP and levels. The zombie hoard morphed from a dangerous mob of monsters to a butt load of EXP and loot.

Jason asked Boops

"This is basically a monster grinder, right?"

'well zombies are pretty stupid, so yeah I don't think they have the mental processing ability to shuffle in between the spike gaps or to dodge them'

Jason sat down and watched the zombies impale themselves and get turned into glowing dust. He was still kinda cautious but he had noticeable relaxed. He then shot up in realization

"Hey, Boops does the traps that I make generate EXP for me when they kill monsters"

'check your EXP log'

Jason quickly opened up the EXP log that he had minimized, because of how it could distract him when fighting.

[your trap has killed a level 30 zombie +300 EXP]

[your trap has killed a level 23 zombie + 230 EXP]

[your trap has killed a level 19 zombie +190 EXP]

[your traps have killed many monsters, your skill create trap had leveled up to level 4!]

[your trap has killed a level 25 zombie +250 EXP]

'Heh, it looks like you get less EXP since you aren't killing them.'

"But I'm still getting EXP so it's worth it"

Jason walked throughout the entire semicircle to make sure there were no weak points. The zombies were obediently impaling themselves into the metal spikes. And glowing dust was floating everywhere.

With nothing else to do Jason sat down at the top of the hill. And since his stomach was starting to make noises of complaint he started to eat. Jason tried to lay down the sleeping bag out again but the invisible force stopped him from sleeping again showing the notification of

[you cannot sleep, there are monsters nearby]

So Jason resorted to lying down on the cool grass. Really Jason was starting to bored the happiness and glee of having a monster farmer had disappeared and now he could only listen to the zombies groaning and roaring as they died.

Another cold breeze passed through the hill. The wind again gave out its creepy noise. It was sounded even more creepy to Jason like somebody was whispering in his ear.

Jason jumped in fright again but then settled down and tried his best to sleep. In the system notifications of EXP were constantly passing by. And both Boops and Jason were happy. Now Jason was getting EXP and he could go to sleep and wake up in the morning.

Turnes out the MH company included in the capsule a way to sleep without terminating the connection with the game. Something about brain waves and using the right pheromones the make you sleep but keep your brain waves active enough to have a connection.

Whatever, good for them and stuff. What was important was that the game didn't count Jason logging out as him losing the intelligence trial and instead just him resting there. He closed his eyes and slowly drifted off to sleep under the melody of the zombies giving him free EXP.

In an expensive mansion, a group of people were discussing something important.

Luna slammed her fist on the table.

"I don't care, that I didn't get your stupid permission to give him the position"

She then pointed to the slide show that had Jason's photo and a video of him completely destroying a team in the NOU gaming tournament continuously playing in loop. She started to talk in the domineering fashion Jason only saw once when he said he wasn't going to join the tall cats guild in-game.

"If we rope him in our guild then we are essential set for whenever anther guild with another big company behind it challenges us to a 1v1 fight."

One of the people sitting at the table, a bald middle-aged man wearing an expensive suit interrupted Luna and stood up to counter her

"I get that you want to recruit him miss, but you can't be sure that he will be good at WOW even if he's good in that game. WOW is different than any other game in the world, that's why so many companies are willing to invest in it. You can feel, touch, eat, and do almost anything you could do in real life in that game. It's a new world a brand new world of wonder."

Luna humphed and sat down and let the middle-aged man continue on his tangent

"but with that new world comes danger, companies are going crazy over the worth this game has. And already many people in the public see this as a chance to become powerful and great. That means that bloodshed and betrayal will be common."

The bald-headed guy turned to Luna

"miss, we the Roop family are going into that world and we already know what we are going to face. But that kid, perhaps he is a genius of sorts, I haven't met him yet so I don't know. But can that kid really endure the fame and hate, praise, and anxiety that comes with this? Right now I don't think so. "

Silence descended onto the room. Everyone was thinking deeply about the middle-aged man's words. Luna stood up, a bit upset

"We can teach all of that stuff if we need to, but even our young genius thinks that he had talent right, Masuda?"

From behind Luna Masuda who was standing diligently behind her answered politely

"yes, Miss he truly does have talent I think that his talents would be valuable for us"

Luna said to the middle-aged man haughtily

"see, even Masuda the person who was groomed to be able to discern talent and make tactics has spoken out."

The bald middle-aged man was about to open his mouth again but a strong manly voice from the end of the table sounded

"enough"

All of the heads turned to the figure at the top. He was covered in shadows, but they all quieted down when he started talking respectfully.

"we will try our best to recruit this boy into our guild fully. In the meantime I want you all to pour in your resources into WOW. I can already tell that this game is going to shake then the entire world.

The entire room, even Luna and Masuda said in unison

"UNDERSTOOD"
