Perseus journeyed through the forest with Jack, they were just doing the normal thing. Picking up herbs, killing monsters. Sometimes Perseus would tell Jack something he found off of the books he read and Jack would in an amazed fashion swear his loyalty to Persues again.
It was pretty nice they were approaching level 30 already well Perseus was already level 30 Jack was catching up at level 26.
But Perseus honestly felt like he was missing something important. Boops was busy helping Jason with his newfound knowledge so he didn't have to much time to check on the twins yet.
Perseus was along with his thoughts desperately trying to remember what he had forgotten. He could feel that it was important and that it could help them. But what was it?
Jack came back with a few leaves from a certain fur tree that had slight medicinal properties. He looked at Perseus and asked curiously
"master? are we going to attack the bandit camp anytime soon?"
Perseus's eyes widened his jaw momentarily slacked before recovering into its normal position. Perseus on the outside only reacted with his eyes widening a bit. But inside it was chaos, pure chaos.
"OHHHHHHH FRICKKKKKKKK"
Perseus's memories started to flood in, the bandit bandana that was sitting in his inventory the vial of deadly poison that was also in it.
Perseus asked himself
wait, why did I forget all about it?
Oh yeah, the crazy scientist dude came and scared the heck out of him and he left to take a break, and then he even got money from his master to make the guild. Yeah after that he completely forgot about the bandit camp and focused on the guild itself.
Perseus asked himself if he really should go and attack the bandit camp again. Well, he didn't need any more money to make the bandit camp but it would be nice to get all of there loot. He also had the ability to blend in with the bandits with the bandana he had gotten from one of them, except that Jack would need to do it. He also had the vial of poison.
Perseus suddenly had the brilliant idea of getting Jack to do it. He tossed the bandana and flask of poison to Jack who easily caught it with his high agility and rouge skills. Jack looked at Perseus with an inquisitive look in his eye.
Perseus gave Jack a grin
"go and poison the bandit camp's water and food supplies. Your level 26 you can easily sneak in there or defend yourself."
Jack nodded and give off a small grin. His master was finally trusting him with an important task. He got the directions from Perseus and started to stealthily run toward the camp.
Perseus followed at a slow pace. Perhaps he was a cruel person to send a 10-year-old on an assassination mission. But behind Perseus was a pile of bear and goblin corpses. For some reason, the bodies of the dead monsters wouldn't despawn unlike when he killed the monsters after he looted the bodies.
Jack had been living in the streets since young and even though he was much more gullible and innocent then Perseus had expected he still was forced to grow up a bit early. Still though what Perseus was doing was a bit cruel, but you probably needed to be a bit cruel to be part of the industry and field he was about to attempt to plunge his hand into.
Perseus slowly walked after Jack, a small evil smile spread on his face. His eyes dangerously focused everywhere out of cautiousness. He was not going to let anything go past him ever again.
He wouldn't make a blunder as large as this again he thought to himself. He made the resolve to double-check everything no to triple check every movement he made.
Perseus grit his teeth in an angry manner. He wasn't going to be a burden for his master or twin. In fact, he was going to be the shadow that protected them.
That was Perseus's pledge as he walked slowly down the path where the bandit's camp should be.
[Perseus has awoken a new innate talent: cautiouness]
[cautiouness: you double-check every move you make to see if its the correct one. You don't make moves easily but whenever you do, you do them the highest percent probability possible, you are less likely to be caught doing anything unlawful.
[Your subordinate Perseus has a new alignment: chaotic neutral- lawfully evil]
This was the begging for Perseus, the few weeks that he had after he was born was to find his path. Jason knew that and so did Boops and Arjuna. The twins were newborns with no other identity except for Jason's subordinates. But now Perseus was the first on the step out.
Today was the day where Perseus would make his real debut in the world, not the Perseus who only followed orders blindly and asked Jason for permission on everything. Now he was Perseus, a person gunning for the top, a cautious being, and the first guild leader. He was completely loyal to Jason but that didn't mean that he was always going to weaker than him, or even be less influential in this city.
Perseus smiled to himself, he imagined Jason's face if he suddenly got overtaken by his subordinate. Pfft, he would probably be both happy and depressed at the same time.
Perseus grinned with the mischievous face that only Jason, Boops, and his twin saw. His eyes glinted with a new light. He now knew exactly what he wanted to do.
Jason who was currently training his butt off got the notification.
[Your subordinate Persues has gained some of the traits of a ?@#$^&]

Meanwhile, Jack was busy running through the forest like a free spirit. He was no longer like a certain tree swinging person, he was the tree swinging person. He would grab a low hanging branch on a tree and with his small weight and nimble steps he could swing himself up, sometimes he could soar above the treetops and view the bright sun shining down on the entire forest.
Everything he did even when he swung up and down the trees or even when he landed on a large tree branch. There was no noise, no branches shook, no leaves fell it was like he didn't exist at all and he had no impact on the trees.
Perhaps it was because of his small weight, after all, he was only ten. Sure the level ups did increases his size and body a bit to become more muscular. But he was still the same skinny nimble boy that Jason had picked up on the streets.
Jack gripped onto another one of the branches and swung himself up. He let go of the branch once he felt like it was going to fall back down and let his body soar up into the air. He flew up high enough that he broke through the treetops and was able to momentarily float in the air.
He looked around the treetops. He only saw green leaves and the trees that held them up. He was sure that if he looked behind him he could see the city. Jack smiled, it was moments like these which made him even more thankful for being taken in by his master. From somebody caged inside the city for as long as he could remember to suddenly flying above the treetops like a bird.
Gravity finally took a hold of Jack and he started to plummet down to the ground. Jack calmly pushed against one of the tree trunks as he was falling down and landed on another branch in a nearby tree.
He quietly crouched down and patiently waited. With his attentive ears skill that he learned as he hit level 20, he hears some noise coming in the front.
Sure enough, two bandit raiders emerged from the vicinity and started walking down a small dirt trail that was used by them frequently it seems.
Jack looked at them with ferocious eyes. It was people like them that almost injured master. He clenched the hilt of his dagger and almost let out a growl of anger. Jack continued watching them sauntering out of the forest chit-chatting over orders.
Jack really wanted to kill the raiders now, but his master had already told him what he needed to do. He gripped the vial of poison in his hand, wrapped the bandit bandana around his face, and slid down the tree.
Just like how Perseus made a pledge for his Master and brother. Jack made a pledge for Perseus. He had made the pledge of loyalty numerous times, but this was the first pledged to fight for Perseus.
This was when Jack the 10-year-old no longer was a 10-year-old, he had started to grow, perhaps in a different way then most kids, but he was growing nevertheless.
