4th day

Jason woke up to Boop's loud voice

'OI JASON GET YOUR BUTT OUT OF BED WE HAVE STUFF TO DO'

and somehow Boops was able to make the noise of smashing a ladel and a pan together to play constantly in Jason's ear until he got up.

So after a few minutes of Jason trying to sleep longer he groggily got up thank to Boops and his deafening alarm.

Jason tiredly got out of bed and looked around his surroundings. He still wasn't used to looking around his room for some reason. In fact, he didn't remember sleeping in his own bed for the last few days. Scary huh. Jason went to the kitchen and fixed himself up a breakfast of eggs and bacon.

After doing all of the things he needed to do he walked back to his room and entered the capsule.

Jason opened his eyes to see Ethan staring at him directly in the eye. Once he saw Jason's eyes opened his grinned and said

"rise and shine, how was your sleep princess?"

Jason just hmphed in reply and stood up facing Ethan.

Ethan counited without missing a beat.

"Alright, ima teach you the 4th form so listen well."

Ethan pulled out simple iron sword like Jason's except Jason instantly knew while looking at the sword that it was much stronger than his. He didn't know why he felt that but it was like an instinct to him.

"the 4th form is about adaptability, unlike the 3rd form which is suited for only specific circumstances this form can work in almost any circumstance. Its a bit defensive at the start, but that's only so you have time to adapt to your circumstances. It needs the user of the form to have lost of knowledge about different things, from environmental things to how the opponent is fighting"

Jason grinned because he had arguably one of the greatest ways to gain and use information.

Jason couldn't see Boops but he was definitely grinning right now. This form was perfect for Boops, and Jason from how it sounded currently. Ethan grinned at Jason's excited expression and counited talking.

"the 4th form can be used for fighting monsters too, but it sometimes needed another form to provide more firepower if you get what I'm saying. Speaking of firepower that's the weakness of this form. There is barely any, and users of this form always need to use the 1st or 2nd one to do any real damage."

Jason got kinda sad at the news since he kinda lived and breathed intense firepower. Boops tried to encourage him saying that the 4th form could be as a starting phase to for where they figured out the enemy and his style and information.

Jason accepted Boops's reasoning. It seems the 4th form could be used well if he did everything correctly. Jason turned his attention to Ethan who was preparing to teach the form to Jason.

Ethan had brought some equipment with him unlike the last few trainers. It was these for large metal pillars that Jason had no idea how he brought over since they were over 5 meters tall and looked like they each weighed more than Ethan.

Jason watched with an open mouth as Ethan picked up one with one hand and carried it to a corner of the field. It was even more embarrassing since he was going at a faster pace then Jason was sprinting. Ethan placed the metal pillars on the corner of the field and the pillar sunk into the field like it was meant to be placed there.

Ethan repeated it, sometimes even disappearing and reappearing at the corner. Jason assumed he was using Shunpo since Lyle mentioned that he taught it to everyone in the Blue 2 team.

The moment the 4 pillars were in place, all of them simultaneously started to glow, and a hidden field started to extend until is surrounded the entire field in a faint box. Jason just stood in the middle of the field like he was told to and just observed what Ethan was doing.

When the faint glowing blue box stopped expanding Ethan appeared in front of Jason.

"alright, the training field is set, up. Your lucky, usually this is only for mass group exercises but now it's only used for you. I don't know why Lady Megra allowed this but whatever, this is a valuable training device, so use it well."

Ethan pulled out what looked like a controller for the device and pressed a button

The field started to move and shift around. While Ethan called out to him now outside of the field

"good luck!"

The field started to vibrate and move around and soon it emitted a bright light that Jason felt like he had seen before. Jason was forced to shut his eyes before he blinded himself and when he opened them he saw himself in a literal jungle.

His first thought was

"what the &%(^&)"

But after venting a bit of his confusion out he was able to check his surroundings. He had an inkling that he was sorta in the same circumstances as the intelligence trial. And since the intelligence trail had a requirement or mission to fulfill Jason had to figure out what it was and get out of here.

And then Jason heard it, it was a deep growl, much different from the wolves, it was more ferocious and rabid. Jason turned around to see a tiger with its orange and black stripes about to pounce onto Jason.

Jason swiftly turned his sword around and tried his best to block the tiger that had already leaped out of the thick grass that it was hiding in. Jason's sword collided with the tiger's teeth and somehow Jason was able to hold his ground against the full weight and strength of the tiger.

Jason's brain started to churn as he saw the saliva dripping out of the tiger's teeth. Boops also tried his best to help by giving Jason information about the beast in front of him.

'umm okay Jason, the data from the analyzation says that it's just a monster tiger, it's just a rabid monster that lives on instinct. It has high agility and stamina. Strength is on the lower side and I don't even need to tell you about the other stats, it has no long-ranged skills but that's basically the only good new'

Jason tried his best to digest the information that Boops provided while he was in a deadlock with the tiger. Currently, he could hold off the tiger, but he needed to act soon.

Jason mustered his strength and pushed the tiger off of him. The tiger let himself get pushed off and landed on its feet with precise motions. It didn't even try to petition itself though, the moment it landed it just charged again. With its jaws wide open it jumped back into the fray.

But now Jason was able to get his bearings and look at his opponent with a different perspective. The enemy was a wild animal. A ferocious man-eating animal. One that charges headlong to get its prey it seems.

In Jason's mind, he started to liken the rushing to a bull, they both rushed headlong. Jason decided to use the 2nd form. Or at least what he knew about it. It was fast and being a mobile target for the tiger to pounce on didn't seem like a good idea.

Jason started to run to the tiger. But the moment they were about to collide, Jason strafed to the left and started to run in that direction. The tiger followed Jason until he turned left, and with its momentum, it needed to dig its feet into the soil to stop and turn to chase after him. And that was what Jason wanted he had climbed up a nearby tree and had leapt into the air with his sword pointed down like a large dagger.

The tiger only had time to turn its head before the sword plunged into its head. It was an inta kill as the sword literally came out the other side.

Jason breathed a sigh of relief as he gained EXP from the kill. Honestly, he didn't know where he was, it may have been some part of the field thing but all thoughts of the 4th form had been pushed out of his mind the moment he started to fight.

But then as he rested on the jungles floor he heard a voice in the sky, a very familiar one. Jason couldn't see Ethan but it seems Ethan could see him

"nice job dude, most of them fail the jungle. that one is pretty hard."

Jason let out a sigh of relief, he thought that he might actually die from the tigers, but it seems that if people could fail it they didn't die. He shouted to Ethan

"a little warning would be good"

"heh, that's the point of the 4th form expect the unexpected"

The jungle environment started to shift again and Jason groaned in exhaustion.
