Entrance

A few hours passed and the entire platoon had gotten their supplies and gear ready, they were now just waiting for their final instructions from Lady Megra.

Jason waited at the edge of the camp, he had talked with the green barrack members about whether or not to bring the wolves for a bit and then went off to help get the supplies ready.

The platoon mainly used wagons and horses to carry their supplies but Jason spotted some red barrack members fitting some supplies and weapons on their back.

So after they finished preparing he and the wolves sat down to wait. Jason talked a bit with Jeffery and the rest of the wolves that were with him. Well, they didn't really talk it was more like lazing around.

Jason and the rest of the wolves lied down on the soft grass and stared into the sky. Jason was still kinda confused about all of the things going on around him. It was going to be his first excursion outside of the cities vicinity after he spent a few weeks in the training facility.

Things were going to change, he could feel it and he had to admit, even though the training center was extremely hard and difficult he had gotten comfortable in there.

A deep and mature voice with a bestial side to it asked Jason from behind

"Hooman we have to talk"

Jason turned around to see the alpha wolf and the rest of the pack behind him. Jeffery and the wolves with him had already gotten up and integrated into the main pack of wolves.

Jason turned to the alpha wolf

"whats up?"

"I heard from Jeffery that you and the rest of the hoomans are going on an excursion."

"Yeah, it's kinda like that, what about it?"

The alpha wolf sat down along with the rest of the pack.

"I think we should send some of the wolves with you guys"

"wait, what? why don't you know what you are agreeing to?"

"yes, I do, but the hoomans have taken good care of us and this is a way for us to pay them back."

Jason sat back and thought for a bit, of course, it would be beneficial to him if some of the wolves came with him, it would give them a bigger chance to succeed and probably give the wolves more EXP. But it came with a risk, and Jason didn't want to see the wolves burying their dead again. That already broke his heart witnessing the sorrow they had, and he never wanted to see another one again.

But then again the wolves were warriors, and it would be like locking them up if he forced them to stay at the training center. He looked at the alpha wolf

"Alright, I think you can bring some wolves to the excursion"

The alpha wolf nodded and motioned to the pack with his head

"who wants to go with the hooman?"

almost immediately Jeffery and his group of friends leaped through the ranks of the pack and landed next to Jason. Jeffery took indicative and shouted

"ME AND THE DUDES WILL HELP HOOMAN"

Jeffery then tried to lower his voice to mutter but his voice was just too loud and everyone heard the

"BUT FOR DEM SNAKOES OF COURSE"

Jason smilled a tiny bit, at Jeffery and his 4 other hyper friends who were hyping themselves up at the thought of snakoes.

More wolves started to emerge. One of the wolves that Jason had saved in the fight against the goblin leader stood out and said

"hooman saved me, I be angry if he die"

7 younger wolves emerged saying something similar.

And two older wolves one with a scar covering his eye and the other one with a bit of white fur mixed into the normal grey fur coat.

The older wolf with a scar grinned and said

"We shouldn't leave the young ones to fight on their own right? we seniors will be sure to take care of them.

More of the wolves wanted to join Jason but the alpha wolf stopped them announcing that the rest of the wolves were needed to defend the training center from the many monsters in the forest. More and more monsters were appearing in the forest and it was starting to become a serious problem.

The rest of the wolves nodded and the alpha wolf prepared to go back to the training center.

But first, he brought Jason aside and whispered to him to make sure none of the wolves could hear him.

"hooman you have in your hands most of the younger wolves, they are still inexperienced and are battle-hungry, Asher and Lance might be able to keep them under control for now, but you'll need to step in sooner or later."

"the alpha wolf stopped and thought for a bit, it seemed he was struggling with something and eventually he gave up and asked Jason

"hooman I entrust you with these pack members' lives, please send them all back to me in once piece, otherwise I can imagine my wife and son getting upset at me when I'm in the afterlife."

Jason nodded and the Alpha wolf took the rest of the pack with him to the training center. Right before they faded out of sight, though they turned around and started to howl.

Jeffery and the wolves that were next to Jason stood up instantly and howled back as if it was an ingrained instinct.

Jason watched the wolves give their version of goodbye. The rest of the platoon members who were resting stopped to watch the wolves also. Some of the green barrack members had a bitter smile on their faces as they knew what it meant for the wolves still in the camp.

Jason looked up at the sky. It was still morning soon to be noon, even after they prepared everything and was hanging out.

Jason saw the red and green barrack members laughing and talking to each other while the blue barrack members bit their nails and paced around nervously.

A sudden trumpet interrupted his thoughts and a loud voice that could rival Jeffery's shouted

"LADY MEGRA MAKES HER ENTRANCE"

Every person in the field from the blue, red, or green barracks jumped up and rushed to the direction where the voice came from.

The voice came from the forest, the path that Jason and the Blue barrack members took to the field. The trainees rushed to where the path through the forest ended.

From where the path ended they went onto the sides and kneeled in two straight lines with a bit of space in the middle. Making a makeshift path.

Jason hurried along with the rest of the barrack members but since he was a bit slow on the uptake, he ended at the very end of the manmade path.

Jeffery and the rest of the pack members followed Jason, and seeing how all of the hoomans kneeled they got confused. Jeffery quickly looked around his head swiveling around like a motor, eventually, he got next to Jason and sat down on his hind legs, he was bit confused but he had the spirit. The rest of the wolves followed Jeffery as they had no idea what was going on.

From the forest, Jason could hear a procession marching. He could hear Boops let out a voice of surprise, so Jason quickly looked at the map.

A group of 200 people was approaching the platoon and Jason couldn't see any of their levels. Boops had already explained to Jason that if he couldn't see the level of the person, that meant that he was a few hundred levels above Jason's level.

A few heavily armoured knights galloped ahead and emerged from the forest, they quickly looked around vigilantly and moved close to the lines of the trainee's who were kneeling.

2 knights bearing the rose flag and a flag that had a mysterious bird on it came in next.

And finally behind it were three white horses. On the left was long red-haired girl with darkish pink eyes and two blood red katanas on her left hip. She wore a tight black outfit with her shoulders and parts of her stomach revealed. Her entire black outfit had small red runes that were barely visible to the eye.

On the right was a person who looked just like the one on the left except that she had pink hair and blood-red eyes instead. She had what looked like a whip and a mace on her horse. She looked around at the trainees who were kneeling and grinned mischievously. While the red-haired girl on the left didn't show any emotion.

Finally in the middle, with her red hair having a distinct fiery color and her eyes a light gold. She had a dress similar to the two girls next to her, black with red runes glowing faintly on them. She looked to be around 25 years old and she gave off a mature aura compared to the younger girls next to her.

She had an intelligent and appraising eye as she passed her eye over the trainees. Lady Megra rode through the path, the master and leader of the rose knights, a duke, and the protector of the Belusian Kingdom.
