Money Money Money

Perseus finally reached the city Herdita gates. Herdita was a large port city, so its defense was especially well-fortified and manned well.

Perseus nodded to the city guards as he came in. They nodded back to him and continued on their jobs.

Perseus drove the guild wagon filled with supplies to the merchant's district. Some people paid attention to him, as he drove past. A handsome dashing blond teenager who had a soft grin on his face. And electric blue eyes that could capture your attention instantly.

He had normal attirer on just some cloth shirt and leather pants. Some people saw the guild emblem of 2 silver wings crossed against each other.

Perseus paid no mind to the various gazes it was early morning, and Perseus had many plans for today.

Of course, he wanted to go and get some money from selling the supplies, and he needed to buy supplies and clothes for the guild. But he needed to take advantage of the gap of time he had before the main player base completely migrated. Which meant quests weapons and materials would start to become scarce.

Perseus grinned to himself

That meant that any of those would sell for a good price.

He looked back to check the number of bandit supplies he could sell. 5 barrels of food and 3 boxes full of various weapons that were too large for anyone in the guild to use.

If he played his cards right, he could make a decent amount of money. With that money, he could look for stalls and places that sold beginners' items and see what he could do.

While he was driving he constantly got notifications of his guild members leveling up. Jason also got points from it, so it was good. Thankfully none of the guild members had died, most of the monsters in the outskirts of the city were around level 6-9 something that the guild members should be able to take down.

Perseus did warn them to not go deep into the forest since that was where the dangerous monsters were.

Perseus passed through the slums quickly and was almost about to reach the merchant's guild. He just needed to pass by the craftsman district.

Perseus really wanted to use the abandoned mine, but he wasn't sure if he had enough manpower to use it efficiently, plus all of his manpower was around ten years old..... Yeah, he definitely needed to work on that.

But the question was where could actually get new talent and recruits?

Perseus ran through the small list of places he could find people in his head. But none of them really stuck to him. If he hired mercenaries they would be a pain to manage even with the loyalty subsystem. Maybe he could hire adventures but who would join a newbie guild?

Maybe he could hire people in the slums, they seemed desperate enough to do so. But that looked like the ripper's territory and Perseus didn't want to make any trouble before he actually was able to deal with them.

Persues thought about the player base but they weren't coming anytime soon. The average level of a player currently was around level 10. Perseus had no clue how they were that slow, maybe because it was the first VRMMO with real battle systems that simulated real fighting and you actually felt physical fatigue.

Yeah, that probably was the reason why it took the player base so long to get used to the game.

Well, Jason and the twins never thought of the game that way so they didn't even need to adjust to anything.

Finally, after a bit of driving Perseus reached the merchant's district and drove to the merchants guild. The merchant guild was one of the biggest and richest organizations on the continent for obvious reasons.

They were known for always pursuing money, and destroying their opponents by setting an astronomical bounty on then and then sitting back to watch the entire world hunt for them. That was one of Perseus's life goals.

Perseus walked into the merchant guild that was covered in elegant carvings and paintings. He made sure that his wagon was parked and Boops said that he would try and keep on eye on it with the map.

As Perseus passed by the golden statues and expensive-looking painted he resisted the urge to steal some. The extremely buff and armored soldiers walking around really helped in that sense.

Perseus walked up to the counter, where a beautiful blond receptionist waited for him. She smilled elegantly at him when he approached and she said with a nice crisp voice

"Welcome, what can I do for you?"

Perseus quickly asked her

"can I sell things here?"

"of course, but do you have a guild card?"

"no, how can I get one?"

The blond lady started to pull up some documents

"yes, of course, the cost for one is 1 silver coin"

Perseus sighed and pulled out a silver coin and handed it to her. She smilled and received it with both hands.

"thank you, sir, if you could please fill in this form we can get your card when you turned it in"

Perseus looked at the sheet

[name]

[age]

[organization]

[job]

[currently properties]

[goals]

Perseus thought for a bit, some parts he could fill in others were kinda awkward so he picked up the quill on the desk and dipped it into some ink and started to write in an elegant cursive

[Perseus]

[ non descretion]

[silver wings]

[guildmaster, swordsman]

[guild house]

[be the strongest and richest]

Of course, Perseus wasn't going to be the strongest, he would reserve that position for his master, but he was too lazy to explain it to a random merchant guild so he just put that.

The receptionist nodded as she looked at it. She looked back at Perseus when she looked over the age part, she asked him

"I'm pretty sure, you're older than 13 right?"

Perseus quickly nodded his head, while cold sweat poured down his back.

Somehow the receptionist didn't pick up on the lie and she stamped the paper and turned it into a person behind the receptionist desks who was busy using a magical machine of some sort similar to a laser printer.

Perseus waited a few minutes and soon the blond receptionist came to him and handed him his brand new merchants guild card. It was white with golden coins engraved around it, Perseus's information was displayed in the middle and if he turned it around he could see a copper sheen on the back.

He turned to the receptionist curiously and she said with a smile.

"you are currently the lowest rank merchant, bronze, please work hard to get your rank up!"

Perseus had read some novels from Jason's old-world so he kinda knew exactly what all of this meant. Perseus nodded

"Alright, but I can sell my stuff right?"

The receptionist nodded

"yes, is it outside? if so i can take a look"

Perseus then lead the receptionist outside to where his guild wagon was.

She brought a clipboard and started to write down notes as she climbed up onto the wagon and started to open and see what was inside.

When she opened a barrel full of apples and sniffed them. She looked at Perseus with a surprised face.

"This is a type of apple that is more indigenous in the north, sadly we haven't been able to get more materials because of the tensions between counties so this will sell well"

The receptionist continued appraising all of the items and came down to Perseus and handed him the clipboard.

"so for the apple, we will give you a total of 20 silver, 5 silver more than the market price, but its because they are a rare type. For the weapons, they are of lower quality but they are still weapons nevertheless and can be metaled for their materials so we will give you 10 silver coins"

Perseus nodded in confirmation and the receptionist pulled out a pouch of coins to give to Perseus from a hidden pocket.

Perseus took the money and was about to walk off before the receptionist called out to him

"Please come back soon mister Perseus"

Perseus looked back and nodded then jumped into his wagon and started to drive off.

It was a bit weird being called by his name, only his master and twin had even done it. The guild members only called him master or mister.

Perseus threw that weird thought to the back of his head and headed for the nearest clothing shop.

He had earned 3 gold from all of the materials. It was good enough in his opinion. But he didn't have an opportunity to negotiate. Then he realized that he was sucked in by the receptionist and wasn't able to actually negotiate prices all that he did was just sit and nod.

Perseus held his head in embarrassment as he started to realize how easily she lead him around.

He had much to learn.
